Gewöhnlich ist das Förderband kurz vor seinem Umlauf um die Preßscheibe an einem feststehenden Schubstreckenklotz entlanggeführt, welcher gemäß einer Weiterbildung dazu genutzt wird, den Luftkanal durch eine Ausnehmung in dem den Saugstrangförderer führenden Schubstreckenklotz zu bilden.

Die Strangführungsfläche 17 ist dabei konkav gewölbt und fluchtet mit einer anschließenden Strangführungsfläche 18, die an der Unterseite des Einlauffingers 4 ausgebildet ist. Diese Ausbildung der Strangführungsflächen bewirkt in bekannter Weise das Verformen des ankommenden Tabakstrangs zu einem zylindrischen Faserstrang bei gleichzeitiger Umhüllung dieses Faserstrangs mit dem Hüllmaterialstreifen 14.
Im Bereich des Formateinlaufes ist der Saugstrangförderer 1 an seinem Abgabeende um eine durch den Saugstrangförderer 1 in Umdrehung versetzte Preßscheibe 19 herumgeführt, wobei das gesamte Abgabeende und die Preßscheibe 19 durch als Messerleisten 21 ausgebildete Seitenwände abgedeckt ist, die sich unterseitig bis entlang der Strangführungsfläche 9 im Formatbett 3 erstrecken. Zwischen den beiden Messerleisten 21 ist zur Führung des Saugstrangförderers 1 ein sogenannter Schubstreckenklotz 22 eingefügt, der mit einem schaberartigen Rückhaltekeil 23 mit einem Abstand im zehntel Millimeterbereich in dem zwischen der Preßscheibe 19 und dem Saugstrangförderer 1 gebildeten unteren Zwickel gegen die Preßscheibe 19 angestellt ist. Oberseitig ist der Schubstreckenklotz 22 mit einem gegen die Umfangsfläche der Preßscheibe 19 angestellten Schaber 24 ausgestattet. Oberhalb des Rückhaltekeils 23 ist der Schubstreckenklotz 22 mit einer Ausnehmung in Form eines Luftkanals 26 versehen, welcher in einem etwa konzentrischen Verlauf zur Preßscheibe deren zwischen dem Ober- und Untertrum des Saugstrangförderers 1 verlaufenden freien Umfangsabschnitt der Preßscheibe 19 zwischen dem Schaber 24 und dem Rückhaltekeil 23 begrenzt. Der Luftkanal 26 steht einerseits mit der Saugkammer 8 und andererseits mit dem inneren Lagerraum 27 der Preßscheibe 19 in Verbindung. Zu diesem Zweck ist die Preßscheibe 19 mit insgesamt acht beidseitig an ihrem Umfangsrand austretenden radialen Luftschlitzen 28 versehen, so daß beim Vorbeilauf der durch den Saugstrangförderer 1 freigegebenen Luftschlitze 28 im Bereich des Luftkanals 26 eine Strömungsverbindung zwischen dem Lagerraum 27 der Preßscheibe 19 und der Saugkammer 8 hergestellt wird. Zur Effektivitätssteigerung der Saugströmung sind außerdem Durchbrechungen 29 in der Stirnwand der Preßscheibe 19 sowie in den beiden Messerleisten 21 jeweils im Bereich des unteren Endes des Luftkanals 26 Durchbrechungen 31 vorgesehen. Durch die auf diese Weise erzeugte permanente Saugluftströmung von der Preßscheibe 19 zur Saugkammer 8 werden Staubpartikel, die vom Schaber 24 nicht erfaßt und abgenommen werden konnten von der Umfangsfläche der Preßscheibe 19 abgesaugt, so daß sich kein Tabakstaub zwischen der Umfangsfläche der Preßscheibe 19 und dem Saugstrangförderer ansammeln und zum Auftragen des Saugstrangförderers führen kann und somit eine Beschädigung des Saugstrangförderers 1 durch den Schaber 17 verhindert wird. Gleichzeitig werden durch die Passage des Luftkanals durch die Luftschlitze 28 Staubablagerungen im Lagerraum 27 der Preßscheibe 19 unterbunden, so daß langfristig Lagerschäden verhindert werden.
In Figure 1, the format inlet of a cigarette rod machine is shown. The fiber strand is conveyed hanging on the suction strand conveyor 1 in the tobacco duct 7, being held on the suction strand conveyor by means of a suction pull acting through the suction strand conveyor 1 from a suction chamber 8 surrounding the suction strand conveyor . According to FIG. 2, the format bed 3 has a strand guide surface 9, which forms a strand channel which is curved in cross section, the radius of curvature of which continuously decreases in the running direction of the strand from the inlet cone 11 to the format part, and the strand channel of the format device which is designed in accordance with the desired strand shape and is not shown further 2 flows. In the inlet cone 11 along the strand guide surface 9 and in the strand channel of the format device 2, which is not shown in any more detail, a format belt 13 is guided in the direction of the arrow 12 and carries a strip of wrapping material 14 through the format device 2. This technique of such machines is well known, so that a detailed description and description is not necessary here. In the area of the inlet cone 11, the suction strand conveyor 1 converges to the strand guiding surface 9 of the format bed 3 and places the tobacco strand, which has been shaken up in a strand construction zone (not shown) and leveled in the usual way, on the wrapping material strips 14 moved by the format device 2. The tobacco rod is passed through the inlet cone 11 strongly compressed under the action of the suction strand conveyor 1 and deformed in accordance with the cross-sectional change of the inlet cone in the conveying direction 12 of the format belt 13 so that it can enter the strand channel partially enclosed by the strand guide surface 9 of the format bed 3. In the area of the strand guide surface 9, adjacent to the format bed 3, the entry finger 4 is arranged as a further strand guide means with a scraper 16, which together with the strand guide surface 9 of the format bed 3 forms a strand guide that further compresses and forms the fiber strand.
The scraper 16 is attached to the end of the inlet finger 4 of the format device 2. Its underside is designed as a strand guide surface 17 and, in the installed position of the scraper, is opposite the strand guide surface 9 of the format bed 3, so that both strand guide surfaces 9 and 17 enclose a strand guide channel. The strand guide surface 17 is concavely curved and aligned with a subsequent strand guide surface 18, which is formed on the underside of the inlet finger 4. This configuration of the strand guide surfaces causes the incoming tobacco rod to be deformed in a known manner into a cylindrical fiber strand while at the same time enveloping this fiber strand with the wrapping material strip 14.
In the area of the format inlet, the suction strand conveyor 1 is guided at its discharge end around a press disk 19 set in rotation by the suction strand conveyor 1, the entire discharge end and the press disk 19 being covered by side walls embodied as knife strips 21, which extend underneath along the strand guide surface 9 in Format bed 3 extend. A so-called thrust link block 22 is inserted between the two knife bars 21 for guiding the suction strand conveyor 1 and is engaged with a scraper-like retaining wedge 23 at a distance in the tenths of a millimeter range in the lower gusset formed between the pressure disc 19 and the suction strand conveyor 1 against the pressure disc 19. The upper side of the push-track block 22 is equipped with a scraper 24 placed against the circumferential surface of the pressure plate 19. Above the retaining wedge 23, the thrust link block 22 is provided with a recess in the form of an air duct 26 which, in an approximately concentric course to the pressing disk, has its free circumferential section of the pressing disk 19 running between the upper and lower run of the suction strand conveyor 1 between the scraper 24 and the retaining wedge 23 limited. The air duct 26 is connected on the one hand to the suction chamber 8 and on the other hand to the inner storage space 27 of the pressure plate 19. For this purpose, the pressure plate 19 is provided with a total of eight radial air slots 28 emerging on both sides at its peripheral edge, so that a flow connection between the storage space 27 of the pressure plate 19 and the suction chamber 8 in the area of the air duct 26 when the air slots 28 released by the suction line conveyor 1 pass will be produced. To increase the effectiveness of the suction flow, openings 29 are also provided in the end wall of the pressure plate 19 and in the two male strips 21 in the region of the lower end of the air duct 26 openings 31. Due to the permanent suction air flow generated in this way from the pressure plate 19 to the suction chamber 8, dust particles which could not be grasped and removed by the scraper 24 are sucked off from the peripheral surface of the pressure plate 19, so that no tobacco dust is present between the peripheral surface of the pressure plate 19 and the suction line conveyor can accumulate and lead to application of the suction strand conveyor and thus damage to the suction strand conveyor 1 by the scraper 17 is prevented. At the same time 28 dust deposits in the storage space 27 of the pressure plate 19 are prevented by the passage of the air channel through the air slots, so that long-term bearing damage is prevented.
