Nail clippers having a two-membered clipper body (2) and a metal fitting (8) which is inserted therein has a U-shaped spring section (46) and, at the ends of its two limbs (48), has angled segments (50) forming the cutting edges (10), characterized in that the two clipper body members (4, 6) have angled segments (64, 66) which surround the limb ends (48) of the spring section (46) on the outside, meet on the side lying opposite the angled segments (50) forming the cutting edges and as they do so interlock in a manner such that they fit together.
  2. Nail clippers according to Claim 1, characterized in that the U-shaped spring section (46) surrounds a physical rotating spindle (12, 14) of the clipper body (2).
  3. Nail clippers according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the angled segments (50), which form the cutting edges, of the metal fitting (8) are inclined towards each other at an obtuse angle, and the cutting edges (10) are produced by an external polished section at the apex of the angle of inclination.
  4. Nail clippers according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that those end sections (58, 60) of the clipper body members (4, 6) which surround the limb ends (48) of the spring section (46) on the outside have, on the inside, securing stubs (62) which pass in a fitting manner through corresponding apertures (52) in these limb ends.
  5. Nail clippers according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the angled segments (64 , 66) of those end sections (58, 60) of the clipper body members (4, 6) which surround the limb ends (48) of the spring section (46) on the outside form, together with the angled segments (50), which form the cutting edges, of the metal fitting (8), a collecting pocket (68) for the nails or skin residues cut off in each case.
  6. Nail clippers according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the two-membered clipper body (2) has, at its rear end, a releasable locking means (16 - 20, 74 - 90) suitable for holding the clippers at least approximately in their closed position counter to the spring stress exerted on them by the metal fitting (8) to cause them to spread apart.
  7. Nail clippers according to Claim 6, characterized in that the locking means has a claw (16) which is mounted pivotably in one clipper body member (4) and is accommodated in a cutout (76), which is made to fit it, in the other clipper body member (6) in such a manner that the two clipper body members (4, 6) remain aligned with one another at least as they approach their closed position and despite a certain flexibility.
  8. Nail clippers according to Claim 7, characterized in that the claw (16) is unable to leave the cutout (76) in question even when the clippers are open.
  9. Nail clippers according to one of Claims 7 to 8, characterized in that in the closed position of the clippers the claw (16) can be pressed in a locking manner into a latching cavity (82) having an undercut, a spring stress attempting to dig the said claw out of the latching cavity.
  10. Nail clippers according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the clipper body members (4, 6) and optionally further parts (12, 14, 16), with the exception of the metal fitting (8), consist of plastic.
