Abstract

A versatile and highly effective massage device has an active surface for bringing into contact with tissue to be treated, and means for driving the active surface in an oscillating pivoting movement about an axis. The active surface has, in cross section, different radii perpendicular to the axis in different directions and can be rotated parallel to the axis in order to bring in each case different zones of the active surface into contact with the tissue.

Description

The present invention relates to a massage device for the treatment of acute and chronic microcirculation diseases in warm-blooded Creature.

From DE-A 44 08 867 a massage device is known, which on one in the Hand-held and manageable housing one with the housing around an axis pivotally connected active surface carries. This active surface is cylindrical, with the axis of rotation of the cylinder with the pivot axis coincides. If the active surface on a body region to be treated is pressed, the skin touched by the active surface as well underlying tissue due to friction parallel to the body surface in Oscillation offset. Here is the amplitude of the oscillation through the Construction of the massager specified.

This device is a large format Floor unit, in which the patient has an entire body part such as puts a lower leg on the active surface so that the one to be treated Body part essentially as a whole of the movement of the active surface follows. Because the patient's position relative to the device during a Treatment cannot be changed easily, is that of the device movement transferred to the part of the body to be treated during a Treatment always the same.

The aim of the present invention is to be flexible and therapeutic to create a highly effective massager. This task is carried out according to solved the invention with the features of claim 1. advantageous Refinements are defined in the dependent claims.

The present invention allows, by simply changing the Orientation of the active surface of the massager in relation to the one to be treated Tissue to change the amplitude of the pivoting movement. Amazingly, this modulation of the amplitude enables a clearly more sustainable and in-depth therapeutic effect during treatment diseases related to microcirculation disorders than the conventional techniques. Trials showed significant relief to the disappearance of the symptoms even in patients who are on the conventional methods.

Indications of the device according to the invention are therefore given for more painful or tense muscles, musculoskeletal disorders of the Nerve, support and musculoskeletal system, long-term alcohol, medication and drug abuse, acute trauma, after surgery, but also for chronic diseases of the rheumatic type, psychiatric Diseases, chronic fatigue syndrome, osteoporosis, multiples Sclerosis, gout, diabetes, cellulite, Sudeck, intracranial pressure, dizziness, Menier, Circulatory disorders, pain, tumors, apoplexy, sensitive and sensory hypoesthesia and paraesthesia. sensitive stimulation, environmental Diseases and all changes affecting the matrix.

It is preferred that the radius of the active surface over at least continuously changing an area from it. This allows in addition to the surface-parallel movement, an oscillating pressure exercise the same frequency on the tissue. This pressure is over the body surface of the patient touching the active surface is not uniform distributed, but takes in the direction of larger radii of the active surface towards. In this way there is a rhythmic pressure drop in the tissue generated by the tissue fluid parallel to the tissue Surface is pumped. This pumping action allows throughput of body fluids such as blood or lymph through the treated tissue zones increase and thus the supply of tissue with nutrients and significantly improve the breakdown of metabolic waste products.

The invention can be used as a free-standing device or as a hand-held device Device. A particular advantage is that with the Hand to leading device that its user with the same hand that the Device performs, the hardening of the treated tissue and register through simply turn the massager around the axis of the active surface Amplitude of the massage movement to the degree of hardening recorded in each case adjust or the amplitude can vary rhythmically.

The massager shown in Fig. 2 has a handheld and manageable Housing 1 with a diameter in the range of 3 to 8 cm. The Housing 1 contains an electric motor, which is connected via a supply cable 2 from a power supply (not shown) is supplied with energy. An eccentric gear in the housing 1 sets a rotary movement of the motor in an oscillating Pivotal movement of a shaft 3 around. The shaft 3 carries one Massage head 4, the edge surface of which has an active surface 5 for laying on the skin of a patient. The course of the active surface in one The cross section perpendicular to the axis A is in the devices from FIGS. 1 and 2 the same and is shown in more detail in Fig. 3.

Ein zu beiden Spiralen 10, 12 tangentialer Bereich bildet einen achsnahen Bereich 13.The active surface of the massage head shown there comprises two mirror-symmetrical mutually arranged sections 10, 11, each of the shape an Archimedean spiral around axis A. The two spirals intersect at a point which is a region 12 of the active surface remote from the axis forms. A region tangential to both spirals 10, 12 forms an area close to the axis 13.

The distance of the region 13 close to the axis from the axis A is approximately 3 to 10 mm, that of the area 12 remote from the axis 15 to 100, preferably 20 up to 50 mm.

Fig. 4 zeigt eine zweite Ausgestaltung eines Massagekopfes im Querschnitt senkrecht zur Achse A. Dessen Wirkoberfläche umfaßt nur einen spiralförmigen Bereich 10 sowie einen geradlinigen Begrenzungsabschnitt 14.Fig. 4 shows a second embodiment of a massage head in cross section perpendicular to the axis A. Its active surface comprises only a spiral Area 10 and a straight-line boundary section 14.

Fig. 5 shows a treatment head in cross section parallel to the pivot axis A. Because the pivot axis A is not through the center of gravity of the massage head runs, this has an imbalance that can lead to the massager runs restlessly, which is particularly important in one hand guided device disturbs. To counteract this, shaft 3, optionally in the housing 1, a counterweight to compensate for the Imbalance of the massage head can be provided. Such a counterweight can also be embedded in the massage head itself. About the unbalance but to keep it low from the start, the massage head should be light and with low moment of inertia. The massage head shown in Fig. 4 therefore comprises a sleeve 20 which positively engages the shaft 3 attached and releasably attached to it, one around the shaft extending outer surface 21 and a disc 22, the sleeve and outer surface combines. The disc can, as far as the stability of the massage head this allows, be broken or reduced to individual spokes. The Sleeve 20, outer surface 21 and disc 22 are preferably made of one solid plastic formed.

In a simple embodiment, the lateral surface 21 can at the same time Form the active surface of the massage head. The one shown in Fig. 4 However, it is designed with a coating 23 made of a flexible Material such as soft polyurethane, foam rubber, textile or the like, Mistake.

The mode of operation of the invention is illustrated in FIG. 6. This figure shows three different phases of the pivoting movement of the in Fig. 4 shown massage head. The height of the axis A above the skin 30 of the patient to be treated is the same in all three phases. In phase a the massage head 4 is deflected clockwise at most, there is none or only insignificant contact between the massage head and the skin 30 of the patient.

The massage head starts from this position, counterclockwise swivel and first reaches a middle position b. In this position the skin 30 and underlying muscle areas by a few millimeters shifted to the right in the figure, at the same time the tissue is moved to squeezed down. The interaction of the pressure from above the tissue with its simultaneous shift to the right in the figure leads to a zone 31 on the right below the massage head 4 forms in which the pressure of the tissue fluid is increased. In phase c the movement in which the massage head 4 reaches its maximum deflection Counterclockwise direction, this effect is enhanced, skin and tissue are visibly upset at 32. Because the way in the figure is hindered to the left by the massage head 4, tissue fluid Escape from zone 31 preferably towards the right in the figure. In this way there is a directional flow through the tissue achieved, which significantly improves its care.

By sweeping a patient's limbs from distal to proximal can be dewatered as a whole with the device according to the invention and the tissue is strengthened and strengthened.

This effect can also be used to treat environmentally induced tissue damage make useful. For example, known. that the toxic heavy metal Cadmium is preferentially deposited in the connective tissue. By application of the device according to the invention, preferably in connection with infusions, such as with physiological saline, such deposits rinse and clean the contaminated tissue.

When using the massage head shown in Fig. 3, the treating Person the pumping action described in FIG. 6 optionally in generate opposite directions simply by moving the device around the Axis A or an axis parallel to it rotates and so either the section 10 or section 11 in contact with the patient's skin brings. In the device from Fig. 1, this rotation takes place with the aid of the lever 52, in the handheld device from FIG. 2 by a freehand rotation.

By turning the device around the axis A, the treating person can further select the zone of section 10 or 11 which is on the skin of the Patient should act. You become a zone with the bigger Select radius, the stronger the muscle layer to be treated is. On typical value for the movement amplitude of a point on the active surface are approx. 4 to 7 mm.

The oscillation frequency of the active surface is in a range from 5 to 25 Hz adjustable. With the striated muscles, which with 40% Body mass is the largest organ in the human body Functional state-dependent own oscillations known, e.g. muscle tremors for heat production in the cold, chills in the event of illness or when hard exertion, such as weight lifting. This tremor itself makes an active contribution to the fluid flow through the tissue, by rhythmically compressing vessels, nerves and connective tissue spaces and with an intact valve system of the veins and lymphatic vessels for one accelerated removal of fluid from the tissue. Around this body's own. Dispositions to shiver and the associated harnessing and stimulating improved tissue supply works the massage device according to the invention expediently at the same frequency. which is in the range of 8 to 12 Hz.

Fig. 7 zeigt eine Weiterentwicklung des erfindungsgemäßen Massagegeräts. Diese Weiterentwicklung eignet sich insbesondere zur paradorsalen Behandlung.7 shows a further development of the massage device according to the invention. Housing 1 and power supply are the same as that in FIG. 2 shown device. Instead of a massage head, the shaft 3 carries the Further development, however, is a bevel gear 40, which has two further bevel shafts 41 and 42 is engaged and drives them in opposite directions. The cone waves 41, 42 are supported by second shafts 43 which are in one on the housing 1 attached cap 44 are rotatably mounted and at their out of the cap 44 exiting ends each carry a massage head 4. These massage heads move in phase opposition and thus practice on top of that 5 described pressure and displacement effect a shear force tissue between them. This further development is suitable especially for paradorsal treatment.

Fig. 8 zeigt eine zweite Weiterentwicklung. In this is the housing 1 carried by a support arm 50 with several lockable joints 53, which allow the massage head 4 to be largely arbitrary in the room position. This further development is particularly suitable for self-treatment in parts of the body that are detrimental to the treatment success Muscle tension is hardly accessible. like in the neck or in the Thoracic spine.

9 and 10 show a third development relating to the massage head 4. In the cross-section to axis A shown in FIG. 9 Massage heads are permanent magnets 60 with essentially in the cutting plane embedded field axis running parallel to the active surface 5. This Magnets induce an alternating electromagnetic field in the treated tissue, that oscillates with the oscillation frequency of the massage head and electrical potentials induced in the tissue.

Hiervon wird eine zusätzliche Verstärkung des mit dem erfindungsgemäßen Massagegerätes erzielten Flüssigkeitsaustausches im Gewebe erwartet.10, the magnets are with the pivot axis A parallel field axis and alternating orientation. The effect of this massage head on the tissue corresponds to that of the 9. The alternating fields act in particular on the nerve pathways in the tissue and thus act in particular on the nerves controlled natural disposition of muscle tissue to tremble. Of these, is an additional reinforcement of the massage device according to the invention achieved fluid exchange in the tissue expected.

The present invention leaves numerous, not described here in detail level variants. The massage head can also be circular with against the center point of the offset staggered pivot axis, be egg-shaped or elliptical, can be Archimedean or logarithmic spiral sections as well as combinations from circular, elliptical, straight or spiral Have sections etc. To adapt to different applications can be provided a plurality of massage heads that are detachable and are interchangeably attached to the device, e.g. by screwing on the Shaft or through a bayonet mechanism. The energy supply of the Massager can also be used instead of via the supply cable Housing built-in accumulator or batteries are made; an on-off switch and a controller for the oscillation frequency can on the housing or be provided on the power supply unit if necessary.
