Abstract

The invention relates to a portable drying apparatus for drying structures by means of microwaves. The apparatus includes a housing (1) which is divided by a partition (13) into two compartments, one being provided with a magnetron (4) and the other functioning as an application chamber (2) for radiation. The magnetron (4), along with its drive circuit, operating switch (5) and wave tube (7), is picked up from a home microwave oven for exploiting the economics of scale. In order to homogenize radiation and to block back reflection, the application chamber (2) is provided with a metal reflector cone (9), supported by a dielectric plate (10) and having its apex pointing towards a transmission aperture (8) of the wave tube (7). <IMAGE>
