Description

The invention relates to a method according to the preamble of Claim 1.

Grundsätzlich sind zwei derartige Verfahren bekannt.Basically, two such methods are known.

In one method, the single sheets, the one Brochure should form, in its entire edition in one Printing press printed. These single sheets are then with Help a collator in the right order brought together and connected to one another Stapling and folding machine fed. In the stapler always a complete set of single sheets of two Pages on each page are printed unfolded one above the other. Subsequently the sheets stapled in the middle form the Folded binding and finally trimmed. The folding is done after stapling. By doing this, it is only possible, relatively thin, i.e. Brochures with a to produce a small number of sheets, with a higher number of sheets so-called "layer fold" not for purely physical reasons is more possible. A practical limit is 22 sheets of 80 g Paper and an envelope of the order of 220 g.

The other procedure is with a so-called saddle stitcher possible. Before processing is in large format (DIN A 2 and larger) printed. These sheets are then on a folding machine folded on 8, 16 or 32-sided sheets and then into the feeder stations of the saddle stitcher. This then puts the individual Folding sheets into one another, stapling the booklet and trimming this on three sides.

This procedure enables a high number of sheets (Page number) to process at high speed. It is but a large format print required for Short runs is not suitable, i.e. it is for short runs not economical. Processing sequentially printed Sheets are not possible. This is the process a typical process for illustrated magazines that be produced in large quantities.

Printing technology has developed considerably in recent years. It is possible through modern digital printing machines sequentially, i.e. one side at a time to print until a booklet is printed. This was not possible on numerical printing machines. Here were the first single sheets in the entire print run printed. The second single sheets followed etc. The further processing then took place as at the beginning described with the disadvantage of a very limited processing power.

The invention is based on the object, a method of to create the type mentioned above by the corresponding Brochures with a high number of sheets or pages in fewer Edition can be produced economically. Here is for example to a number of sheets in the range of 50, i.e. so 200 pages thought. The number of sheets and pages depends, of course of individual parameters such as paper, thickness, paper quality and Like.

This object is achieved by the method steps of claim 1 basically solved.

According to the invention, the printed single sheets are not in collected in a collating machine and then superimposed first fed to a stapler, but the single sheets as you will later form the brochure, printed and in that order of the folder fed. The single sheets printed on both sides, the will have four pages of the later brochure folded, i.e. folding is done before stapling. In connection then the folded single sheets are opened again and set up so that they can be used for the brochure and their Pages in correct order can be stacked on top of each other can. This happens on a suitably trained Saddle. The stacked single sheets of a brochure are then stitched together by saddle stitching. Since that Folding is done before stapling, it is possible to do a great deal to form stronger brochure. Physical limits through folding several sheets already stapled, cannot be overcome.

In the following the invention with reference to the drawing explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment.

In the single figure there is a process sequence for the production a stitched brochure. At a Saddle stitched brochure is one with Wire stitching with the staple inside, like her for example with illustrated magazines and also many Brochures, operating instructions and the like is known.

DIN A 5 auf. According to the method according to the invention, the single sheets 1, which are printed on both sides with two pages each, preferably individually in a digital printing machine sequentially fed, i.e. it will be the single sheets that later form a brochure, one after the other into the device introduced. There are these single sheets with each four pages of the brochure in a folder 2 in the Middle folded. The sheets are then still partially opened individually at (3) and placed at (4). The fold that the later Binding forms, is denoted by 4. Following that the single sheets are stacked at 6 on a saddle collected until a brochure is put together in justified order is. This brochure is then published at 7 with the help of a Stapling device 8 stitched back. The finished brochure will then at 9 on the front edge and possibly at 10 on the trimmed both edges. At 11 is the finished brochure designated. Let by the inventive method are smaller editions that consist of two-sided with two sides printed single sheets, for example in the format DIN A3 or Pass DIN A 4, produce economically. The brochures are then correspondingly smaller, i.e. they have the format DIN A4 or DIN A 5. Since the folding and compilation before When stapled, the brochures can be relatively thick Relationship to those who fold only after stapling. For example, brochures of 50 sheets with 200 pages and conventional paper weight of 80 g made without difficulty become. In connection with a digital printer can worked very economically with correspondingly smaller runs become.
