Description

The present invention relates to a dyeing process of a textile material with indigo and an installation for the implementation of the process.

By this process a dyed textile yarn is made indigo then used to prepare a tissue called denim fabric with which we make items such as blue jeans, for example.

Indigo is one of the oldest known dyes and has been used for centuries to dye textiles such as cotton.

Patent EP-B-0 692 042 describes a method of dyeing a textile material containing cellulose with indigo in which a solution is used aqueous leuco-indigo prepared by hydrogenation catalytic and we convert it to the form pigmented by air oxidation after rising on the textile material.

Indigo-dyed blue jeans have the disadvantage that it discolours on washing. During these last years there was even a fashion that consisted of wear discolored blue jeans and the industry has developed processes and facilities to follow this fashion, where we accentuated and favored the discoloration of the fabric in facilitating discoloration of the chain thread. The way of using the dye facilitated washing and aging. But all fashion is ephemeral and does not last than a time.

The object of the present invention is the realization denim fabric that resists wear and fade by washing and with the fabric according to the present invention, no longer cares about the wash water used as well as corrosive detergents used in washing.

The dyeing process of a textile material according to the invention is described in claim 1.

The installation for implementing the process dye according to the invention is described in claim 8.

It is known that indigo is practically insoluble in the water and therefore cannot be used as is for the dyeing. It should be used first in a form soluble and then we generate the dye in a form insoluble in fiber or yarn.

Figure 00030001
To fix indigo, leuco-indigo is oxidized according to the reaction:
Figure 00030001

By the method according to the invention, the operations usually performed to dye the yarn in indigo blue, adding additional operations, both in the baths and in the oxidation and prior mercerization to facilitate capacity absorption and impregnation of the wire.

During the oxidation process, we start with very rapid air exposures early in the process in the first dye baths and after each bath the exposure time is gradually increased so as to favor the penetration of indigo into the thread.

The wire is then vaporized under conditions of set temperature and pressure, before washing and mercerized again.

The second phase of the process consists in constituting around the now dyed yarn, insulation for the make it immune to washing, and it's ready to be used. To do this you must first make the wire neutral by successive passages in acid baths.

The wire is then completely dried before being immersed in a bath that will permanently fix indigo and which will give it the desired characteristics. Thread obtained by methods known in the art is consisting of a white central core, i.e. undyed and by an external part impregnated with the dye indigo. Thanks to the process according to the invention, the wire will made up of a much thinner white central core and indigo will penetrate much deeper into the external part so that it will be tinted a lot deeper. Ideally the thread will be dyed on the side partly by indigo.

1 to 5 on process according to the invention will now be described. According to what process we first implement a prewash step passing the wire F coming from a starting roller on which it is wound through an installation of prewash 1 consisting of two or more tanks 2 containing a prewash solution 10.15. The wire is guided by rollers 3 and 4 in the first tank 2 containing the prewash solution and then leaving this solution it passes between two pressure rollers 5 to remove excess liquid then, guided by roller 6, plunges back in the prewash solution. At the end of this bath, the wire passes between two pressure rollers 7. Then guided by the guide rollers 8 and 9, the wire plunges into the prewash solution 15 in the second tank 2. The wire will move in the second tank according to a identical route to that of the first tank passing successively between the two pressure rollers 12, below of the guide roller 11 then between the rollers pressers 13.

The prewash solution contains a soaking product such as FINBIL AS (produced by the company Bozzetto) (trade designation) which is an ester derivative phosphoric fatty alcohol. It is used in the solution aqueous in a concentration of 5 to 8 gr / liter. This bath of prewash is used to impregnate the yarn in order to promote the subsequent penetration of indigo.

After this prewash step we go to dyeing proper wire through the installation of dye 30 shown in Figure 2.

  • The dyeing installation 30 consists of a series of 8 tanks 35 containing a solution of reduced indigo. The thread F coming from the prewash installation is guided by the guide roller 31 in the dye solution located in the first tank 35, turns around the roller 32 and leaves the bath to pass between the first pressure rollers 34 of the first tank 35, passes around roller 33 and returns to the dye solution of the first tank, passes around the second roller 32 of the first tank and then leaves the bath, passes between the second set of pressure rollers 34 of the first tank. Then the wire passes around the roller 36. On the path between the second set of pressure rollers 34 and the roller 36, the impregnated wire is oxidized and forms indigo which dyes the wire. After turning around the roller 36, the thread will pass through the dyeing solution of the second tank where it undergoes the same route as in the first tank by means of the rollers 31, 32 and 34 of this second tank. At the outlet of the second tank the wire will no longer rotate around a roller 36, as at the outlet of the first tank, but around two rollers 36 and two rollers 37 so that the path in the air, at the leaving the second tank will be twice as long as leaving the first tank and therefore the oxidation will be twice as great. After turning around the two rollers 36 and 37 the wire will enter the third tank and so on until the eighth tank and at the outlet of each tank the wire will turn around rollers 36. It should be noted as shown in fig. 2 that between the third and the fourth tank, there are three rollers 36, between the fourth and the fifth tank there are four rollers 36 and so on until the exit of the eighth tank where there will be 8 rollers 36 As a result, the time of exposure to air is gradually increased from the first tank to the eighth, so that if we give the value x to oxidation between the first tank and the second, we will successively:
  • Between the 1st and 2nd tanks the oxidation value = x
  • Between the 2nd and 3rd tanks the oxidation value = 2x
  • Between the 3rd and 4th tanks the oxidation value = 3x
  • Between 4 ° and 5 ° tanks the oxidation value = 4x
  • Between 5 ° and 6 ° tanks the oxidation value = 5x
  • Between the 6 ° and 7 ° tanks the oxidation value = 6x
  • Between the 7 ° and 8 ° tanks the oxidation value = 7x
  • After the 8 ° tank oxidation value = 8x
Dye baths contain a solution of indigo reduced containing 3 to 5% of indigo powder, sodium hydrosulfite in an amount corresponding to 2/3 the amount of indigo and caustic soda 36 Baumé in an amount corresponding to twice the amount of indigo.

The wires pass through the baths at a speed from 20 to 60 m / minute depending on the type and quality of the wire.

The example shown in Figure 2 includes 8 tanks but it goes without saying that the operation can be repeated 2, 3 or more times using two, three or more sets of 8 tanks to obtain a increasing penetration of indigo in the thread.

Thanks to this dyeing process, intense and dark indigo coloring of the thread.

When the thread has been dyed, the washing and the pre-wiping thereof are carried out by means of the installation 40 described in FIG. 3. The wire is passed successively through the tanks 41 to 45 by guiding it by means of the rollers 46, 47 and 48. The tank 41 contains water and in the tanks 42, 43 and 44, acetic acid (CH 3 -COOH) at 50% so that the tank 42 contains a proportion of 20 cc / l, the tank 43 contains 10 cc / l and the tank 44 contains 5 cc / l. The tank 45 again contains water, the final pH being between 6 and 7, preferably 6.7.

At the outlet of the tank 45, the pre-wiping is carried out wire passing it around the rollers 50 as we can see it in figure 3.

After washing and pre-wiping the wire, we proceed to sizing the indigo dye on the wire to increase resistance to washing and rubbing fabrics that will be further prepared, making pass the wire through the sizing installation 60 described in Figure 4. The wire passes through a tank 62 containing a mixture of 63 resins and is guided through of the tank by means of guide rollers 64 and pressure rollers 61.

  • The composition of the resin mixture is as follows:
  • 10 to 50 g / l of quaternary polyalkylamine salts
  • 10 to 50 g / l of fluorocarbon resin
  • 10 to 200 g / l of acrylic resin
  • 1 to 20 g / l of autocatalysed polysiloxane
  • 10 to 200 g / l of polyurethane resin
During this gluing a film is formed transparent on the fibers of the wire which fixes the indigo on the thread and thus increases its resistance to washing.

After this gluing step, we proceed to drying of the wire by means of the installation 70 represented in the figure 5 passing the wires around the rollers 71. This drying takes place at a temperature between 150-180 ° C.

.The method according to the invention can be implemented with various types of yarn, for example cotton, cotton and nylon, cotton and polyester etc ....
