    a joining element (3) is cast on the first component (1) in the region of the undercut (2), whereby, in the region of the undercut (2), a casting mould into which liquid metal is poured to produce the joining element (3) is placed over part of the length of the first component (1), in that the joining element (3) is so designed that the joining element (3) is securely joined to the first component (1) during the solidification process by the contraction of a core region (4) of the joining element (3) solidifying last, and in that the second component (6) is then joined to the joining element (3) in a region (5) remote from the undercut (2).
  2. Method according to claim 1,
    characterised in that
    several joining elements (3) are cast on the first component (1) in sequence with the same casting mould.
  3. Method according to claim 1 or 2,
    characterised in that
    the undercut (2) is represented by a dovetail guide.
  4. Method according to claim 1 or 2,
    characterised in that
    the undercut (2) is represented by a T-slot.
  5. Method according to any of claims 1 to 4,
    characterised in that
    a sand mould is used as a casting mould.
  6. Method according to any of claims 1 to 4,
    characterised in that
    a permanent mould is used as a casting mould.
  7. Method according to any of claims 1 to 4,
    characterised in that
    a die-casting mould is used as a casting mould.
  8. Method according to any of claims 1 to 7,
    characterised in that
    the region (5) of the joining element (3) which is remote from the undercut (2) is given a cylindrical shape during the casting process.
  9. Method according to any of claims 1 to 7,
    characterised in that
    the region (5) of the joining element (3) which is remote from the undercut (2) is given a cuboid shape during the casting process.
  10. Method according to any of claims 1 to 9,
    characterised in that
    the second component (6) is bolted to the joining element (3).
  11. Method according to any of claims 1 to 9,
    characterised in that
    the second component (6) is welded to the joining element (3).
  12. Method according to any of claims 1 to 11,
    characterised in that
    the first component (1) and the second component (6) are used as body panels of a motor vehicle.
  13. Method according to claim 12,
    characterised in that
    the second component (6) is designed as a cross-member abutting the first component (1) designed as a side member in a T-shape.
