Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Laminat-geschütztes selbstklebendes Etikett (1) auf bahnförmigem, vorzugsweise zu Rollenware konfektioniertem Trägerpapier (8) zur fortlaufenden maschinellen Beschriftung, mit einem Beschriftungsfeld und einem transparenten Schutzlaminat zur Abdeckung des Beschriftungsfelds. Das Etikett zeichnet sich dadurch aus, daß es zweiflügelig ausgebildet ist, daß dieses so auf das Trägerpapier (8) aufgebracht ist, daß beide Flügel (2, 3) aufgeklappt in einer Ebene nebeneinanderliegend angeordnet sind und daß ein mit einer Klebstoffschicht versehener transparenter Flügel (3) des Etiketts (1) nach Abziehen einer Schutzabdeckung sowie nach Einklappen entlang einer Perforationslinie (4) das Schutzlaminat für das Beschriftungsfeld bildet. <IMAGE>

Description

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Laminat-geschütztes selbstklebendes Etikett auf bahnförmigem, vorzugsweise zu Rollenware konfektioniertem Trägermaterial zur fortlaufenden maschinellen Beschriftung, mit einem Beschriftungsfeld und einem transparenten Schutzlaminat zur Abdeckung des Beschriftungsfelds.
Derartige Etiketten finden überall dort Anwendung, wo eine besondere Beständigkeit der Beschriftung bei Gegenwart von aggressiven Medien oder wo eine besondere Abriebfestigkeit der Beschriftung bei Einwirkungen durch Gebrauch des zu beschriftenden Gegenstandes gefordert ist. Bei vielen Anwendungen für Etiketten, beispielsweise als Typenschilder von Maschinen, ist ein Schutz der Beschriftung unerläßlich, um sicherzustellen, daß die Beschriftung auch unter rauhen Gebrauchsbedingungen immer lesbar bleibt. Das Beschriftungsfeld der bekannten Etiketten wird deshalb nach der Beschriftung mit einem transparenten Laminat bzw. mit einer transparenten Folie abgedeckt.
Nicht immer sind Etiketten fertig beschriftet konfektioniert. Oftmals ist es erforderlich, ein Eikett unmittelbar vor dessen Verwendung zu beschriften oder eine vorhandene Beschriftung des Etiketts zu ergänzen. Zur Beschriftung von Hand und in kleinem Umfang sind hierzu Etiketten bekannt, die mit einem transparenten Laminat unter Zwischenlage einer abziehbaren Schutzfolie zwischen Beschriftungsfeld und Schutzlaminat versehen sind. Das Schutzlaminat ist zungenartig an einer Seite bei bestimmungsgemäßem Gebrauch unlösbar mit dem Beschriftungsfeld verbunden. Zur Beschriftung muß das Schutzlaminat von Hand abgehoben werden, so daß das Beschriftungsfeld des Etiketts freigelegt ist. Nach Beschriften des Etiketts läßt sich dann die Schutzfolie bei aufgeklappter Laminatzunge entfernen. Anschließend wird die Laminatfolie über das beschriftete Etikett geklebt.
Bei diesen Etiketten kann nicht die gesamte Beschriftungsfläche genutzt werden, da die unlösbare Verbindung der Laminatzunge mit dem Beschriftungsfeld Platz in Anspruch nimmt, der nicht zur Beschriftung zur Verfügung steht. Außerdem ist eine maschinelle fortlaufende Beschriftung von als Rollenware konfektionierten Etiketten dieser Art in Drucksystemen, beispielsweise mittels Thermotransferdrucker, nicht möglich, weil die Laminatzunge im Drucksystem herumflattert, wodurch der Durchlauf des Etikettenbandes blockiert wird.
Zur maschinellen Bedruckung sind sogenannte Stanz- und Laminiersysteme bekannt, bei welchem die auf einem bahnförmigen Träger aufgebrachten Informationsträger des Etiketts beispielsweise in einem Thermotransferdrucker fortlaufend von der Rolle bedruckt werden und anschließend ebenfalls fortlaufend laminiert sowie nach Aufbringen des Laminats ausgestanzt werden. Diese Stanz- und Laminiersysteme haben sich als für die Etikettierung in großem Ausmaß als besonders vorteilhaft erwiesen. Stanz- und Laminiersysteme finden überall dort Anwendung, wo die Auszeichnung von zu fertigenden Gegenständen sich unmittelbar an den Fertigungsprozeß anschließt. Hier ist es oftmals wünschenswert, die Beschriftung der Etiketten kurzfristig umzustellen, beispielsweise wenn die Fertigung von einem Maschinentyp auf einen anderen umgestellt wird.
Da bei diesen bekannten Stanz- und Laminiersystemen das beschriftete Etikett nicht unmittelbar dem Drucker entnommen werden kann, sondern dieses bei vorgestanzter Kontur sowohl des Laminats als auch des Beschriftungsfeldes frühestens nach Aufbringung des Laminats aus der Maschine entnommen werden kann, fallen bei jeder Umstellung der Beschriftung Ausschußetiketten an. In der Regel wird das fertige Etikett erst nach dem Stanzen zur Verfügung stehen, so daß der so gefertigte Ausschuß bei Umstellung der Beschriftung noch größer ist.
Aufgabe der Erfindung ist es daher, ein Etikett der eingangs genannten Art derart zu verbessern, daß es bei Konfektionierung als Rollenware oder Meterware und fortlaufender maschineller Beschriftung unmittelbar dem Drucksystem entnehmbar ist, so daß bei Umstellung der Beschriftung kein Ausschuß produziert wird. Weiterhin soll das Etikett gemäß der Erfindung einfach in der Herstellung und Handhabung sein.
Die Aufgabe wird gemäß der Erfindung dadurch gelöst, daß das Etikett zweiflügelig ausgebildet ist, daß dieses so auf dem Trägermaterial aufgebracht ist, daß beide Flügel aufgeklappt in einer Ebene nebeneinanderliegend angeordnet sind und daß ein mit einer Klebstoffschicht versehener transparenter Flügel des Etiketts nach Abziehen einer Schutzabdeckung sowie nach Einklappen entlang einer Knicklinie das Schutzlaminat für das Beschriftungsfeld bildet.
Solche Etiketten gemäß der Erfindung können hintereinander mit jeweils freiliegendem Beschriftungsfeld auf einem bahnförmigen Trägermaterial angeordnet sein, das eine fortlaufende Beschriftung in einem Drucksystem ermöglicht. Das Etikett kann unmittelbar dem Drucker entnommen werden. Das anschließende Laminieren und Stanzen entfällt. Die aufgeklappte und ebene Anordnung beider Flügel des Etiketts ermöglicht eine Führung des Trägermaterials mit dem offenliegenden Beschriftungsfeld so durch ein Drucksystem, daß keine Störungen durch beispielsweise flatternde Laminatzungen oder Laminatklappen erzeugt werden.
Vorzugsweise werden beide Flügel des Etiketts durch eine transparente Folie gebildet, wobei als Beschriftungsfeld eine nichttransparente Folie vorgesehen, die unlösbar mit einem Flügel der transparenten Folie verbunden ist. Die transparente Folie bildet also eine Art Umschlag für das Beschriftungsfeld.
Bei einer besonders bevorzugten Ausführungsform des erfindungsgemäßen Etiketts sind die beiden Flügel der transparenten Folie in etwa gleich groß und bezüglich der Knicklinie als Symmetrieachse spiegelsymmetrisch zueinander ausgebildet, so daß nach dem Einklappen des das Schutzlaminat bildenden Flügels das Schutzlaminat deckungsgleich mit dem Beschriftungsfeld ist, wenn letzteres so groß wie einer der Flügel des Etiketts ist.
Um das Einfalten bzw. Einklappen und Aufeinanderkleben der beiden Flügel der transparenten Folie zu erleichtern, kann die Knicklinie als Perforationslinie in der einstückig ausgebildeten transparenten Folie vorgesehen sein.
Vorzugsweise besteht die nichttransparente, als Beschriftungsfeld dienenden Folie aus metallisiertem Polyester, welches sich kontrastreich bedrucken läßt und außerdem UV-beständig ist.
Der das Beschriftungsfeld aufnehmende Flügel der transparenten Folie kann auf ein beschichtetes Trägerpapier als bahnförmiges Trägermaterial aufgeklebt sein, wobei die Haftkraft des Klebstoffs an dem Trägerpapier zweckmäßigerweise geringer als an der Folie ist.
Der das Schutzlaminat bildende Flügel des Etiketts nebst Schutzabeckung kann beispielsweise ebenfalls in ein Trägerband integriert sein.
Vorzugsweise ist dann die Kontur des das Schutzlaminat bildenden Flügels durch Stanz- oder Perforationslinien in dem Trägerband vorgegeben. Das Etikett kann wahlweise so konfektioniert sein, daß die Stege zwischen den einzelnen das Schutzlaminat bildenden Flügeln nach der Beschriftung abgetrennt werden müssen, oder diese können schon vor Konfektionierung des Etiketts entfernt worden sein. Je nach Beschriftungssystem kann es wünschenswert sein, den das Schutzlaminat bildenden Flügel nebst der Schutzabdeckung vollständig in dem Trägerband zu belassen, wodurch die Führung der Etikettenbahn verbessert wird.
Das Etikett kann beispielsweise auch als Lackierschutzschild ausgebildet sein. Diese Schilder werden als Typenschilder von Maschinen vor Auftragen einer Lackierung auf diese aufgebracht, wobei sichergestellt werden muß, daß das Beschriftungsfeld nach der Lackierung noch lesbar ist. Als Schutzlaminat wird daher bevorzugt ein mehrschichtigtes Laminat verwendet. Nach jedem Lackiervorgang wird die oberste Laminatschicht, die mit einem ablösbaren Klebstoff versehen ist, abgezogen. Das beschriftete Schild wird wieder sichtbar.
Das Schutzlaminat kann beispielsweise durch wenigstens zwei abziehbare transparente Schutzfolien gebildet sein, die durch einen randseitig klebstofffreien Bereich jeweils eine Griffzunge bilden, wobei die Schutzfolien sich gegenseitig überlappend angeordnet sind, zwei einander zugeordnete gemeinsam abzuziehende Schutzfolien eine vollflächige Abdeckung des Beschriftungsfelds bilden und die jeweils untere Griffzunge zweier eine Abdeckung bildender Schutzfolien durch die obere Schutzfolie vollständig verdeckt und so versiegelt ist, daß sie nicht abhebbar oder untergreifbar ist, solange die obere Schutzfolie nicht abgezogen wurde. Die Begriffe "oben" und "unten" im Sinne der vorstehenden Erläuterung beziehen sich auf die Lage des Etiketts mit zum Betrachter weisendem Beschriftungsfeld und eingeklapptem Flügel, d. h. auf das Beschriftungsfeld aufgebrachtem Schutzlaminat.
Die Erfindung wird nachstehend anhand eines in den Zeichnungen dargestellten Ausführungsbeispiels erläutert.

Wie aus Fig. 1 ersichtlich ist, ist das Etikett 1 gemäß der Erfindung zweiflügelig ausgebildet, wobei die beiden Flügel 2, 3 in etwa gleich groß und spiegelsymmetrisch in bezug auf eine Perforationslinie 4 ausgebildet sind.
Die beiden Flügel 2, 3 des Etiketts 1 sind einstückig miteinander verbunden und bestehen aus einer transparenten Folie 5, die sowohl das Schutzlaminat für das Beschriftungsfeld des Etiketts 1 als auch als Träger für die metallisierte Polyesterfolie 6 dient, welche das Beschriftungsfeld bildet. Die Größe des Beschriftungsfelds bzw. der metallisierten Polyesterfolie 6 entspricht der Größe eines Flügels 2,3.
Anstelle der metallisierten Polyersterfolie 6 kann auch eine Beschichtung oder Bedruckung des Flügels 2 vorgesehen sein. Beispielsweise kommt auch eine Bedruckung derart in Betracht, daß der Flügel 2 mit Ausnahme der Beschriftung transparent bleibt. Dies ist insbesondere dann sinnvoll, wenn das Etikett 1 auf einen farbigen Untergrund aufgeklebt werden soll, auf welchem ein beispielsweise silberfarbenes Etikett 1 als störend empfunden würde.
Der als Träger für das Beschriftungsfeld dienende Flügel 2 der transparenten Folie 5 ist mittels einer ersten Klebstoffschicht 7 lösbar auf einem bahnförmigen Trägerpapier 8 aufgebracht. Das Trägerpapier 8 ist entlang der in Fig. 1 dargestellten Perforationslinien 9 zwischen jedem Etikett 1 abreißbar.
Die das Beschriftungsfeld bildende metallisierte Polyesterfolie 6 ist bei bestimmungsgemäßem Gebrauch unlösbar mit der den Träger und das Schutzlaminat bildenden transparenten Folie 5 verbunden.
Der das Schutzlaminat bildende Flügel 3 der transparenten Folie 5 ist auf der dem Trägerpapier 8 abgewandten Seite mit einer zweiten Klebstoffschicht 10 versehen, die eine lösbare Schutzabdeckung 11 aufnimmt. Die transparente Folie 5 kann ebenfalls aus Polyester ausgebildet sein.
Die beiden Flügel 2, 3 sind, wie vorstehend bereits erwähnt, entlang der Perforationslinie 4 einklappbar. In der in Fig. 1 gezeigten Lage, d. h. in auf dem Trägerpapier 8 aufgebrachtem Zustand sind diese beiden Flügel 2, 3 des Etiketts ausgeklappt und in etwa einer Ebene angeordnet. Nach Entnahme des Etiketts 1 von dem bahnförmigen Trägerpapier 8, wie dies in Fig. 3 dargestellt ist, wird dieses zunächst auf den auszuzeichnenden Gegenstand 12 (Fig. 4) aufgeklebt. Die erste Klebstoffschicht 7 ist so beschaffen, daß das Etikett 1 leicht von dem Trägerpapier 8 ablösbar ist, jedoch stark auf dem auszuzeichnenden Gegenstand 12 haftet. Sodann wird die Schutzabdeckung 11 abgezogen und der Flügel 3 der transparenten Folie 5 entlang der Perforationslinie 4 eingeklappt, so daß die zweite Klebstoffschicht 10 auf der das Beschriftungsfeld bildenden metallisierten Polyesterfolie 6 aufliegt. Dies erfolgt selbstverständlich nach Beschriftung des Etiketts 1 in einem Drucksystem.
Wie unschwer den Figuren zu entnehmen ist, erfolgt das Einklappen des Flügels 3 so, daß die beiden Flügel 2 und 3 in etwa deckungsgleich aufeinanderliegen und die metallisierte Polyesterfolie 6 zwischen sich aufnehmen.
Der die Schutzabdeckung 11 bildende Flügel 3 des Etiketts kann ebenso in ein nicht dargestelltes Trägerband integriert sein und zwar so, daß die zwischen den Flügeln 3 verbleibenden Spalte 13 geschlossen sind. Bevorzugt wird jedoch die in Fig. 1 gezeigte Ausbildung der auf dem Trägerpapier 8 befindlichen Etiketten 1. Das Trägerpapier 8 mit den aufgeklappt darauf angeordneten Etiketten 1 ist vorzugsweise als Rollenware konfektioniert.
Das Trägerpapier 8 ist als Papier mit einer kunststoffbeschichteten Oberfläche ausgebildet, von welcher der Klebstoff der Klebstoffschicht 7 leicht lösbar ist. Die Schutzabdeckung 11 kann von gleicher Beschaffenheit wie das Trägerpapier 8 sein.

Claims (11)

  1. Laminat-geschütztes selbstklebendes Etikett auf bahnförmigem, vorzugsweise zu Rollenware konfektioniertem Trägermaterial zur fortlaufenden maschinellen Beschriftung, mit einem Beschriftungsfeld und einem transparenten Schutzlaminat zur Abdeckung des Beschriftungsfelds, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Etikett (1) zweiflügelig ausgebildet ist, daß dieses so auf dem Trägermaterial aufgebracht ist, daß beide Flügel (2, 3) aufgeklappt in einer Ebene nebeneinanderliegend angeordnet sind und daß ein mit einer Klebstoffschicht (10) versehener transparenter Flügel (3) des Etiketts (1) nach Abziehen einer Schutzabdeckung (11) sowie nach Einklappen entlang einer Knicklinie das Schutzlaminat für das Beschriftungsfeld bildet.
  2. Etikett nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß beide Flügel (2,3) durch eine transparente Folie (5) gebildet werden, wobei als Beschriftungsfeld eine nichttransparente Folie vorgesehen ist, die unlösbar mit einem Flügel (3) der transparenten Folie (5) verbunden ist.
  3. Etikett nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die beiden Flügel (2, 3) der transparenten Folie (5) in etwa gleich groß und bezüglich der Knicklinie als Symmetrieachse spiegelsymmetrisch zueinander ausgebildet sind.
  4. Etikett nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Knicklinie eine Perforationslinie (4) in der einstückig ausgebildeten transparenten Folie (5) vorgesehen ist.
  5. Etikett nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die nichttransparente, als Beschriftungsfeld dienende Folie (5) aus metallisiertem Polyester besteht.
  6. Etikett nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der das Beschriftungsfeld aufnehmende Flügel (2) der transparenten Folie (5) auf ein beschichtetes Trägerpapier (8) als bahnförmiges Trägermaterial aufgeklebt ist, wobei die Haftkraft des Klebstoffs an dem Trägerpapier (8) geringer als an der Folie ist.
  7. Etikett nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der das Schutzlaminat bildende Flügel (3) nebst Schutzabdeckung (11) in ein Trägerband integriert ist.
  8. Etikett nach Anspruch 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Kontur des das Schutzlaminat bildenden Flügels (3) durch Stanz- oder Perforationslinien in dem Trägerband vorgegeben ist.
  9. Etikett nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Trägerband für die das Schutzlaminat bildenden Flügel (3) von der Beschaffenheit wie das Trägermaterial für die das Beschriftungsfeld aufnehmenden Flügel (2) ist.
  10. Etikett nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es als Lackierschutzschild ausgebildet ist.
  11. Etikett nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 10, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Schutzlaminat mehrschichtig ist.
