Definitions
- the invention relates generally to the field of Screw closures for containers and thereby Plastic closures with a relatively small diameter, the for sealing containers with pressurized contents used, especially soft drinks, beer and others carbonated foods. Specifically affects the Invention a guarantee closure according to the preamble of Claim 1.
- Crown closures are called and which are a tool for Require loosening.
- plastic screw caps replaced, either in Injection molding process or even more frequently in the die casting process getting produced.
- These closures are usually called "Guarantee closures" with an integrity indicator ring or pilfer band. This extends from the bottom the cylinder wall of the closure down and is with connected to this edge via webs, the predetermined breaking bridges represent and during casting production or by a separate slot forming operation are.
- a guarantee closure according to the preamble of Claim 1 is known from US-A 5 356 019.
- the rags are formed by polyhedra triangular in cross section, which has a hinge on the upper inner edge of the lower thicker wall section of the Tamper-evident indicators are articulated.
- the rags can on the one hand in the of the thinner upper Swing the exposed space into the wall section when the Screw cap is mounted for the first time, and you can in the Swivel the space underneath the container ring bead if the Screw cap is mounted.
- the lower thicker one Wall section form these tabs, so that the Screw cap not without tearing off the The integrity indicator can be unscrewed.
- a disadvantage of this embodiment is the fact that Hinge of both a bending and tensile load is also subject to the fact that the lock thickened at the bottom Wall section is formed, what in the professional world as "Working in the so-called second mode" becomes.
- the invention has for its object a Guarantee closure with improved rag training too create the possibility of rags inside like that to swing far that the rag in the so-called second Operating mode is excluded.
- the invention is defined in claim 1.
- the polyhedron flap has multiple surfaces on and if any of these flat surfaces in complete Contact with a flat or conical surface of the Container ring bulge comes, the axially directed Components of the force directly on the Integrity indicator ring transmitted and serve in known Way to tear the connecting bridges.
- Fig. 1-3 includes the container-cap combination 10, which also as Guarantee closure is called two elements, namely a screw cap 11 and a container 12.
- the screw cap 11 has a generally customary design on and is preferably produced by die casting.
- the closure includes an end wall 16 which is internal and outer surfaces 17 and 18 is limited, the If necessary, a flexible seal 19 supports the inner surface.
- a cylindrical jacket wall 20 surrounds the end wall 16 and is from an outer surface 21, an inner one Screw surface 22 and a lower surface 23 limited, on which a flange 24 extends downwards.
- Breakable bridges 25 form a tearable area that the connection to a detachable Integrity indicator ring 26 creates the on the Container neck remains when the main part of the closure is unscrewed.
- the integrity indicator ring 26 comprises an upper wall section 27 and a lower wall section 28 and is delimited by a tear line as the upper side 30, a lower side 31, an outer surface 32 and an inner surface 33.
- the lower wall section 28 has a bead 34 and a plurality of tab-shaped ring segments 39, which are arranged distributed over the inner circumference of the screw cap 11.
- the bead 34 extends radially inward and is delimited by a lower inclined surface 35 and an upper radially extending surface 36, which meet in a bending area of thin cross section or hinge 37, on which the tabs 39 attach.
- the flaps 39 accordingly form extensions of the imaginary upper inner edge of the bead 34.
- the inner surface 33 and the upper surface 36 form an annular recess 38 into which the flaps 39 can escape.
- the tabs 39 have a cross-sectional shape of a polyhedron which is fused with its lower edge to the inner edge of the bead 34.
- the tabs 39 are therefore inherently inflexible and are only capable of pivoting movement relative to the ring 26 about the axis of the hinge 37.
- the tabs 39 have a quasi-rectangular cross section and comprise sides 40 to 43.
- the sides 41 and 43 meet in an edge 49 and the sides 32 and 43 in an edge 48.
- the container 12 is generally conventional and can be made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or plastic materials with more comparable properties.
- PET polyethylene terephthalate
- the container 12 includes a hollow main body 50 from which a cylindrical neck 51 extends.
- the neck 51 includes an annular end surface 52 that defines an open mouth 53 from which an inner surface 54 extends.
- An external screw surface forms an external thread 55 which works together with the internal thread 22 of the closure 11.
- the bead 57 comprises a rounded top 58 and a conical bottom 59, which meet at an edge 60.
- the underside 59 can also lie in a purely radially extending plane.
- the opening angle of the cone of the underside is between 120 ° and 180 °, preferably between 140 ° and 160 °.
- An annular space 62 extends between the main body 50 and neck 51, below the conical surface 59, into which the tabs 39 extend in a relatively untensioned position.
- the edges 60 are arranged further radially on the outside than the hinge 37. The mode of operation is as follows:
- the cross-sectional shape is of flap 139 to a polyhedron with an asymmetrical house outline modified, pages 140, 141, 142, 143 and 144 as well Has edges 147, 148, 149 and with the hinge 137 with the upper edge of the wall section 128 is connected.
- the Surfaces 143 and 144 are radially inward of the hinge 137 arranged and fit very closely to the bottom 59 of the bead 57.
- the flap is over the surface 142 139 sideways during the initial installation of the lock swung away. 4 surfaces 143 and 144 lie radially inward of the hinge 137.
- the polyhedron is a rectangular shape with a bevelled edge, creating five pages 240, 241, 242, 243 and 244 as well as edges 246, 247, 248 and 249 are formed.
- the edges 246 come with the first installation of the fastener an inclined inner surface 238 of the Tamper-evident ring 226 in contact, causing the upper wall portion 227 yields outward and the tabs 239 on the thread 55 and the container ring bead 57 come over and swing into the annular space 62 (Fig. 5). If the closure is unscrewed, the bumps Polyhedron side 243 on the conical underside 59 of the Container ring bead 57. Because of the relatively narrow annulus 62 between the lobes and the surface of the neck do not swing the rags inwards, at least not over them the dimension shown in Fig. 4 beyond.
- the fourth embodiment differs little from the third embodiment, except for the width of the annular space 62, which is in the radial direction is larger than in the embodiment of FIG. 5.
- the tabs swing 339 radially inwards and generate radial outward forces the integrity indicator ring 326, which tears open lengthways or splits.
- the lobes finally reach that dash-dotted position. After that, at least some tear the bridges when the ring 326 is in the split state is pressed against the container ring bead 57.
- Such a closure according to FIG. 6 is suitable especially for use with a Integrity indicator ring 326, which splits lengthways, before all predetermined breaking bridges 325 are opened.
- the integrity indicator ring can thus be on the screw cap 311 remain attached, or it can then be accessed by users can be removed manually.
- This type of closure is there preferred if the container is intended for recycling because the container is often made of a material that is different from that of the closure.
- FIGs. 7 and 8 are for the first embodiment corresponding parts with similar reference numerals but with the prefix 5.
- the cross section is FIG Rag 539 generally rectangular and considerably thicker than the wall of the top wall section 527.
- the section 527 is also segmented by longitudinal slots, the Segments correspond to the width of the flaps 539, so that the Ring 526 bulged slightly during initial installation can be as shown in Fig. 15.
- the cross section of the Rag 539 is rectangular with a slight taper to To offer abutting surfaces with the screw turns and the Bead 57 work together.
- the surface 543 lies on the surface 59 of the Container ring bead 57 while unscrewing the Closure.
- the developing forces lead to Moments at the predetermined breaking bridges 525 due to the leverage over the ring 526, which is easy tearing along the Crack line 530 favored.

Traditionally, such containers are used sealed by metal caps, usually called Crown closures are called and which are a tool for Require loosening. For the past 15 to 20 Years, such closures are increasingly used Plastic screw caps replaced, either in Injection molding process or even more frequently in the die casting process getting produced. These closures are usually called "Guarantee closures" with an integrity indicator ring or pilfer band. This extends from the bottom the cylinder wall of the closure down and is with connected to this edge via webs, the predetermined breaking bridges represent and during casting production or by a separate slot forming operation are.
The annual production in the USA of such closures exceeds that of most other types of closures and the state of the art with regard to such closures, which is not surprising, very developed. Plastic closures of this type have many advantages including the possibility of taking off without the application a tool and the ability to close the container again close if not all of the content on the first Opening has been consumed. However, there remain significant problems during manufacturing and the Handling of such closures to solve.
A guarantee closure according to the preamble of
With another guarantee closure (US-A 5 090 788) are the lobes with the lower area of the thickened Section pivotally connected, which has a wedge shape, the lobes also have a wedge shape. At the Screw the screw cap onto the rag the inside of the integrity indicator ring on and then spread out behind the container ring bead to counteract support this when the screw cap is unscrewed. This represents the advantageous first mode of operation, however, the hinges of the lobes are on shear claimed.
With another guarantee lock (EP 0 381 118 A1) straight lobes are used, none Have a weakened zone to form a hinge. This Flaps are folded up on the screw connection and led past the container ring bead to behind the Spread the container ring bead. When unscrewing the Screw cap are intended to tear open the rag of the predetermined breaking bridges. If this does not succeed, submit the rag across the one below thickened section and applies this to the extent that a Lock is formed to demolish the There are few signs of tampering. With this Precautions are thus taken to ensure that first and second operating modes one after the other practice.
With another guarantee closure (US-A 5 107 998) there are rags that are thinner in the area between the top and the lower thicker wall section and are club-shaped hook-shaped and a Show bending area. It is stated that the lobes in engage the neck recess that immediately is located below the lower end of the screw connections.
The invention has for its object a Guarantee closure with improved rag training too create the possibility of rags inside like that to swing far that the rag in the so-called second Operating mode is excluded.
Die Erfindung wird in Anspruch 1 definiert. The invention is defined in
In a first embodiment of the invention, the Swivel axis of the flap radially inward of the surfaces of the Lappens laid the underside of the container ring bead touch so that when the cap is unscrewed from the container ring bead to the rag Exerted forces only directed radially outwards Components have.
The polyhedron flap has multiple surfaces on and if any of these flat surfaces in complete Contact with a flat or conical surface of the Container ring bulge comes, the axially directed Components of the force directly on the Integrity indicator ring transmitted and serve in known Way to tear the connecting bridges.

Gemäß erster Ausführungsform der Erfindung (Fig. 1-3)
umfaßt die Behälter-Kappe-Kombination 10, die auch als
Garantieverschluß bezeichnet wird, zwei Elemente, nämlich
eine Schraubkappe 11 und einen Behälter 12.According to the first embodiment of the invention (Fig. 1-3)
includes the container-cap combination 10, which also as
Guarantee closure is called two elements, namely

The
Der Unversehrtheitsanzeigering 26 umfaßt einen oberen
Wandabschnitt 27 und einen unteren Wandabschnitt 28 und wird
von einer Rißlinie als Oberseite 30, einer Unterseite 31,
einer Außenoberfläche 32 und einer Innenoberfläche 33
begrenzt.
The
The
(Fig. 1-3) weisen die Lappen 39 quasi rechteckförmigen
The
The opening angle of the cone of the underside is between 120 ° and 180 °, preferably between 140 ° and 160 °.
Zwischen Hauptkörper 50 und Hals 51, unterhalb der
Konusfläche 59 erstreckt sich ein ringförmiger Raum 62, in
welchen die Lappen 39 in relativ ungespannter Stellung
hineinreichen. Die Kanten 60 sind dabei weiter radial außen
angeordnet als das Scharnier 37.
Die Betriebsweise ist wie folgt:An
The mode of operation is as follows:
As best seen in Fig. 1, the closure
during the first installation on the

weggeschwenkt.
In the second embodiment, the cross-sectional shape is

(Fig. 5). Wenn der Verschluß abgeschraubt wird, stößt die
Polyederseite 243 an der konischen Unterseite 59 des
Behälterringwulstes 57 an.
In the third embodiment (Prefix 2, Fig. 5)

When the cap is unscrewed, the tabs swing

Such a closure according to FIG. 6 is suitable

Referring to the fifth embodiment of the Invention (Figs. 7 and 8) are for the first embodiment corresponding parts with similar reference numerals but with the prefix 5.

- Container-cap-combination according to one of the claims 1 to 5 wherein the tabs (39, 139, 239) are sufficiently long to be prevented from being pivoted essentially radially inwardly from the unstressed condition when opening the closure, a free edge (43, 148, 248) of each tab (39, 139, 290), when engaging the adjacent outer surface (2, 60) of the container neck, prevents any further pivotal movement downwardly.
- Container-cap-combination according to one of the claims 1 to 6 wherein the tab (239) comprises a radially outward surface or edge (246) which engages an inner surface (233) of the tamper indicating ring (226) when the tab is in its relative unstressed condition.
- Container-cap-combination according to one of the claims 1, 2 or 6 wherein the polyhedron has four faces (540, 541. 542, 543) forming a rectangle tapering slightly downwardly and wherein the upper side (543) of the polyhedron engages the lower side (59) of the annular container bead (57) when the threaded cap (11) is installed at the neck (50).
- Container-cap-combination according to one of the claims 1 to 8 wherein the upper thinner wall section (527) is segmented by axially extending slots so that the tamper indicating ring (526) may be expanded when initially installing the closure cap (511).
- Container-cap-combination according to claim 1 wherein the polyhedron cross section of the tabs (339) has five sides with a surface (343) facing upwardly which develops a force component radially outwardly against the tamper indicating ring (326) in cooperation with the lower side (59) of the annular container bead (57) when unthreading the cap (311) so as to split the ring (326) axially before the frangible bridges (325) break.
