Definitions
- the invention relates to a radio receiver according to the Preamble of claim 1.
- Radio receivers have a tuner and one Decoder, by means of which further information besides the Broadcasting program to be transmitted to the radio handset.
- RDS radio data system
- RDS Radio data system
- it In addition to the digital broadcasting program, it is possible to add others To transmit information. It is common for example, using RDS information about the received station, its name and the type of broadcast information, for example To transmit traffic news or messages.
- this information is output.
- RDS system faces the problem that although the name of the Broadcasting company is transmitted very frequently, however further information, also about RDS broadcast, not broadcast as often.
- a radio handset a corresponding radio transmitter set, he only learns after a certain time whether this broadcaster broadcasts an additional service that it want to use or not. Then he realizes that this Broadcasters do not have the desired additional information broadcasts, he must go to the nearest radio station and also wait until he learns whether the desired information from this radio station is broadcast or not. This procedure therefore takes relatively long time.
- the radio receiver according to the invention with the features of The main claim has the advantage that the Broadcast listeners very quickly from the broadcast receiver Station is tuned in, which the desired by him Transmits additional information. He can also do a lot quickly get information about whether the desired one Additional information at all on one of the receivable Broadcasters is transmitted.
- Measure is therefore achieved that according to the reception request of the Users of the radio receiver very quickly a transmitter who offers the corresponding additional service.
- the invention can be used advantageously in particular if the radio receiver has a second tuner and one second decoder.
- the second tuner can then and the second decoder serve to keep the table going To update. It is also advantageous to read the table to arrange broadcast programs, and the frequencies at who are broadcasting the same program, this one Assign programs. This makes it possible for one Receive a specific additional program Select station with the same program and the same Additional program that offers the best reception quality.
- Farther it is still advantageous to have a GPS receiver in the Integrate radio receivers.
- the GPS receiver gives the Possibility to change the location of the Radio receiver to be determined so as to create a new one Trigger search or when selecting one appropriate additional information to ensure that thereby determining the location using the GPS receiver and the additional information is improved.
- the output signal of the first tuners will be one after its demodulation first RDS decoder 2 supplied, on the other hand, this happens Output signal after a corresponding low-pass filtering an amplifier 5, to which in turn a loudspeaker 6 connected.
- the Broadcast tuner received broadcast signal while in RDS decoder 2 the data signal transmitted on a subcarrier is processed.
- the output of the data signal comes in a microprocessor 7, which in turn is also the setting controls the transmission frequency of tuner 1.
- a variable memory 8 and a ROM 12 connected.
- ROM 12 there are programs for the Microprocessor filed, as well as information about receivable additional services, these additional services Keywords are assigned, e.g. at RDS be transmitted.
- the memory 12 for the Traffic Message Channel (TMC) its keyword CD46 on, for the additional service Differential GPS das Keyword 4321 and for the additional service paging that Keyword 4590 on.
- TMC Traffic Message Channel
- the microprocessor 7 controls furthermore a display 4 on which information about the Stations, traffic news or other information Additional services, such as pager information can be displayed. Are also on display for example, the location can be displayed.
- an input keyboard 3 connected, by means of which the microprocessor 7 commands from Operators of the radio receiver can be placed.
- the radio receiver provides the basic version its simplest design.
- a table is now stored in the changeable memory 8, when the radio receiver is started up for the first time is empty.
- the radio receiver is now controlled via the Microprocessor through a channel scan, then for the first time the table is filled with information. How this happens in detail, is closer in Figure 3 explained.
- the tuner at the first frequency stopped at which a broadcast signal can be received.
- the Query point 32 is now checked whether the set Broadcast transmitter delivers a signal of sufficient field strength, to ensure perfect radio reception. Is this is not the case, i.e. the field strength is below one given value, the system jumps to 39 and the scanning process is started again at point 30 continued, in which now the tuner to another receivable frequency is set.
- the query branch 36 branches to where it is queried whether the frequency has already been stored under the given PI code. If this is not the case, the process branches again to point 37, where the frequency and the field strength are newly entered in the transmitter table, and is fed to the already existing frequencies. If the frequency has also already been entered in the transmitter table, which is determined in interrogation point 36, then only the field strength in the transmitter table is updated at point 38. The program sequence for a received station is then ended. This program sequence is now continued until the entire frequency band has been scanned. As a result of this search, a table will now be found in the variable memory 8, which is shown in Table 1 by way of example.
- PI codes registered, i.e. the programs by the different channels are broadcast. So corresponds for example the PI code D382 for North German Broadcasting 1, D372 West Germanyr Rundfunk 2 etc.
- Table 3 contains the transferable ones Further information.
- D382 is under the PI code D382 only receive the additional information CD46 what corresponds to the Traffic Message Channel.
- D372 also becomes paging transmitted while under the PI code D220 as Additional information differential GPS signals are transmitted and under the PI code D392 traffic information in digital form (TMC) as well as differential GPS signals.
- TMC digital form
- the fourth column is the field strength of the received signals filed. This is important if, as in the first case Several transmitters can be received using the same PI code are assigned, i.e. the same radio program. Herewith the frequencies are now sorted according to the field strength, so that in case of doubt the transmitter will be tuned in with the strongest field strength can be received.
- this table must be generated at least initially and be renewed at regular intervals. This is however, the tuner and the RDS decoder at least during the Creation phase and the renewal phase blocked. It is therefore cheaper to have a radio receiver with two To provide tuners. For this purpose, one in FIG Another tuner 10 available, which is also on one symbolically represented antenna is connected. Of the Output of the second tuner 10 leads only to one Second RDS decoder 11, the output of which is processed RDS signals are in turn fed to the microprocessor 7. This second tuner 10 with the second RDS decoder 11 is used now only, as previously described, Table 1 build up and update at regular intervals.
- a radio receiver can be used GPS receiver 9 will be present, its output signals also delivers to the microprocessor 7.
- GPS receivers that can be operated in the non-military sector however, the current location of the radio receiver only deliver with finite accuracy.
- the one from the GPS receivers 9 delivered signals are, however, significantly too improve when these signals with differential GPS signals corrected, which are received by a receiver, who is at a defined and known location located, and now the received signals due corrected his exact location knowledge.
- Will this Correction signals (differential GPS signals) as Additional information broadcast via a radio receiver, it is also possible to determine the location of moving objects correct and define very precisely, since the deviation of the received signal from an exact signal is. It is therefore especially with a GPS receiver 9 very useful, as additional information differential GPS received so that the signal of the GPS receiver improve.
- the radio receiver is then able to other applications, such as navigation or Selection of TMC messages a very accurate location signal to create.
- query 19 determines that a suitable one There is no entry of additional information a further search preferably with the tuner 10 carried out to determine whether in the meantime a Can be found, the corresponding one Combination of additional information. Becomes a such a station found at the interrogation point 23, the Search ended and this station tuned in immediately. If there is still no suitable transmitter, it will Users reported at point 26 that a corresponding Information cannot be provided.
- the application of the invention is not to radio programs limited that broadcast RDS information. Rather is the invention can be used in all radio systems that broadcast additional information in addition to the radio program. These can also be digital audio broadcast receivers, at which also in addition to the actual radio program Additional information about the program type and the type the additional information is also sent.

Abstract
Description
ausgestrahlten Information, beispielsweise
Verkehrsnachrichten oder Nachrichten zu übertragen. The invention relates to a radio receiver according to the
Preamble of
On a display of the receiver or acoustically this information is output. Especially when RDS system faces the problem that although the name of the Broadcasting company is transmitted very frequently, however further information, also about RDS broadcast, not broadcast as often. Has therefore a radio handset a corresponding radio transmitter set, he only learns after a certain time whether this broadcaster broadcasts an additional service that it want to use or not. Then he realizes that this Broadcasters do not have the desired additional information broadcasts, he must go to the nearest radio station and also wait until he learns whether the desired information from this radio station is broadcast or not. This procedure therefore takes relatively long time.
The radio receiver according to the invention with the features of The main claim has the advantage that the Broadcast listeners very quickly from the broadcast receiver Station is tuned in, which the desired by him Transmits additional information. He can also do a lot quickly get information about whether the desired one Additional information at all on one of the receivable Broadcasters is transmitted. By the invention Measure is therefore achieved that according to the reception request of the Users of the radio receiver very quickly a transmitter who offers the corresponding additional service.
Further advantageous results from the subclaims Further developments and improvements of the invention. Especially It is advantageous to read through the table stored in the memory a station search over the entire radio band determine. This enables the table in particular then, if it does not already exist, in one go to be determined in order to be ready for further applications to have. It is particularly advantageous to use digital information by means of RDS and a predetermined group evaluate the RDS protocol. This measure will achieved that the evaluation computer of the radio receiver is largely relieved of only a certain Group of the RDS protocol. Furthermore it is advantageous, the correspondingly filed table in predetermined intervals to update. This is especially useful when the vehicle is Location changes. An update is therefore not an option only at intervals, but especially then when the field strength of the just received and too listening station becomes weaker over time.
The invention can be used advantageously in particular if the radio receiver has a second tuner and one second decoder. The second tuner can then and the second decoder serve to keep the table going To update. It is also advantageous to read the table to arrange broadcast programs, and the frequencies at who are broadcasting the same program, this one Assign programs. This makes it possible for one Receive a specific additional program Select station with the same program and the same Additional program that offers the best reception quality. Farther it is still advantageous to have a GPS receiver in the Integrate radio receivers. The GPS receiver gives the Possibility to change the location of the Radio receiver to be determined so as to create a new one Trigger search or when selecting one appropriate additional information to ensure that thereby determining the location using the GPS receiver and the additional information is improved.
An
seiner einfachsten Ausgestaltung dar.1 shows a first tuner, on which a
Receiving antenna is connected. The output signal of the
first tuners will be one after its demodulation
Frequenz abweicht.A table is now stored in the
So entspricht
beispielsweise der PI-Code D382 dem Norddeutschen Rundfunk
1, D372 dem Westdeutschen Rundfunk 2 usw.In the first column are all receivable PI codes
registered, i.e. the programs by the
different channels are broadcast. So corresponds
for example the PI code D382 for
Zusatzinformationen.
If only a tuner and an RDS decoder are available, see above
this table must be generated at least initially
and be renewed at regular intervals. This is
however, the tuner and the RDS decoder at least during the
Creation phase and the renewal phase blocked.
It is therefore cheaper to have a radio receiver with two
To provide tuners. For this purpose, one in
seiner genauen Standortkenntnis korrigiert.
Furthermore, according to FIG. 1, a radio receiver can be used
beispielsweise Verkehrsrundfunksendungen TMC empfangen
In diesem Falle
darstellt.
In diesem Falle ergeben
In Figure 2 it is shown how with reference to Table 1 in
Radio receiver now the quick setting one
Additional information can be made. Is used by the user of the
Broadcast receiver entered on the
Suche fortzusetzen.If
As explained in the exemplary embodiment, it is due to the Invention possible due to the in Table 1 Information available in the radio receiver is very quickly tune to broadcast stations that specific, from Handset contain additional information desired. Through the It is updating and keeping the table possible at any time to find a station quickly especially widespread additional information, such as in Example TMC, broadcasts. But also combinations of Additional information that is otherwise very difficult and cumbersome to determine can be relatively quick be retrieved.
