Abstract

A high-density granular detergent composition comprising: (A) at least one surfactant; (B) at least one crystalline alkali metal silicate having an SiO2 to Na2O molar ratio of 0.5 to 2.6; and (C) at least one sequestering agent other than the component B, having a Ca ion trapping capacity of at least 200 CaCO3 mg/g, wherein the total amount of the components A, B and C is 70 to 100 % by weight based on the whole granular detergent composition, the component B to component A weight ratio is (9:1) to (9:11), and the component B to component C weight ratio is (4:1) to (1:15). The composition contains particles (I) containing the crystalline alkali metal silicate as the component B and particles (II) containing the sequestering agent as the component C, and the particles (I) are present as particles substantially different from the particles (II).
