Abstract
Device for securing loads and luggage in a vehicle luggage compartment, especially in an automobile, comprising a right angle device made of plastics comprising an upstanding holder plate (2) being fixedly connected with a horizontal base plate (1), and the underside of the base plate (1) comprising means for connecting the base plate (1) with the floor of the luggage compartment, the base plate (1) thereby being adapted to receive luggage, such as a bag containing articles, on a suitable location in the compartment, the holder plate being adapted to support the side of the luggage.
Description
Device for securing loads and luσσaσe
The present invention is related to a device for securing loads and luggage in luggage compartments in vehicles.
Loads of different kinds, such as bags with food and other articles frequently are placed in the luggage compartment in vehicles and repeatedly being thrown back and forth and to the sides during driving of the vehicle. Although the market offers some securing devices for such purposes, securing such loads is time consuming and has minor effect during use. Among the best of such solutions for securing load and luggage in the luggage compartments of vehicles are friction mats, hooks or rings for the use of straps, ropes or nets of different kinds. Practice has however shown that those known securing devices are not providing acceptable security in practice as rather much of the luggage and articles is not found on the same place after a drive with the vehicle.
As opposed to known methods and means, the securing device according to the present invention, adapted for securing goods and luggage in the luggage compartment of vehicles, provides a secure way to avoid bags or such with articles to fall down on the floor of the compartment, thereby loosing articles out of the bags. Furthermore, the securing device according to the present invention is easy to use, needs no training of the user and furthermore only comprises one part. These advantages are achieved with the securing device according to the present invention as defined by the features stated in the patent claims.
In the drawing figure 1 discloses in a perspective view one embodiment of the securing device according to the invention seen from above, figure 2 discloses the embodiment in figure 1 seen from below, figure 3 discloses a second embodiment of the invention in a front view, figure 4 discloses the embodiment in figure 3 in a ground view and figure 5 discloses a section V-V in figure 4.
The securing device according to the present invention in its most simple form consists of a base plate 1 and an upstanding holder plate 2 arranged at an right angle to the base plate 1. The underside of the base plate comprises attaching
means 3, enabling the base plate 1 to be fixed to the fabric on the floor of a luggage compartment in a vehicle.
Figure 3 and 4 disclose another embodiment of the present invention where the securing device has the shape of an angular bend or arch as part of a circle spanning preferably over 90°. The securing device comprises likewise a base plate 4 to which a holder plate 5 is secured at the outer circumference extending upwards at a right angle and attaching means 6 being arranged on the underside of the base plate 4, thereby enabling the securing devices to be fixed to the fabric on the floor of luggage compartments in vehicles.
The securing device according to the present invention may be placed anywhere on the floor in a luggage compartment of a vehicle thereby being fixed to the floor of the compartment by the attaching means 3, 6. Luggage or bags containing articles are placed on the base plate 1, 4 thereby pressing the securing means further to the floor and ensuring that the securing device will not tilt when the bag with articles is leant on to the upright standing holder plate 2, 5. The securing device according to the present invention is easily stored for example i a corner of the compartment without taking up much space when not in use and furthermore easily can be arranged at any desired place in the luggage compartments. Furthermore more securing devices may be used together to provide partitions of desired seize.
The attaching means 3 and 6 may preferably be hook and loop fasteners, but may also be tapes, friction tapes or such, all of which increasing the attaching force between the device and the floor when being set under pressure as the case will be when bags with articles are placed on the base plates 1 and 4, the sides of which being supported by the holder plate 2.
