Description

CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSOR WITH INCORPORATED GEARBOX
TECHNICAL FIELD
This invention is about a centrifugal compressor with gearbox, for compression and pumping of inert or fuel gases.
BACKGROUND ART
The best known centrifugal gas compressors have a common baseplate for drive engine , for the gearbox and centrifugal compression stages scparetcd, all these components being located in series.
These compressors, though they may include scaling solutions concerning oil or gas compressed atmospheric circuits for compression applications of fuel gases, they also have the following drawbacks: technological difficulties for lining the assembly of shafts and also they have large dimensions which need long and relatively complicated pipe routes.
There arc also more compact centrifugal gas compressors which make on the common baseplate the transmission of rotation from the power engine by means of a gearbox which transmits the rotation to the centrifugal compressors, this time in paralel location. These compressors have the following drawbacks : they cannot be used but for the compression of the inert gases, because of the impossibility of seal separation of gas or inert fluid circuits from fuel gases and they may work only on nominal parameters, being constructively difficult to modify the number of compression stages, for example.
DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION The centrifugal compresssor with gearbox in accordance with this invention has a coupling for the drive unit which transmits the power from the drive unit which may be an electric motor or thermal engine. This coupling transmits rotations to a compressor assembly having a bullgear, in fact a subassembly of rotation transmission, by couplings and by rotor gearbox assembly subunits.
All these are fixed on a common baseplate and define, in this way, the general assembly.
This compressor is provided with two or several rotor assemblies, representing the global compression stages driven, by means of gearbox with a bullgear, by some pinions gear transmitting the rotor assembly motion by some assemblies presenting double geared flexible couplings or slotted couplings.
The compressed gas flow which may be an explosive medium is separated from the rest of the oil flow lubrification - atmosphere, by some bearings belonging to the rotor assemblies and by some other bearings of the pinions gear - by means of some detachable housings sealed by O rings. For an appropriate visibility and access to these detachable housings, some access openings are made in the coupling rotation transmission unit. To ensure semiadjustment, by cancellation, if applicable, one or more global compression stages, there is the possibility for the rapid detaching - during a stop - of a bearing support undetachable lid which allows removing by means of some orifficcs having a larger diameter than the one of couplings and also there is a removable lid, forming , in this way, a removable unit consisting in the pinion gear and the transmission coupling.
Also for ensure of an additional adjustment possibility, the compressor allows the gas circuit of rotor assemblies to be coupled by some external pipes in scries or in paralcl, providing in this way , the adjustment of flow rate or the compression level. For the fine supplimcntary adjustment of the compression level, the rotor assemblies are provided with some centrifugal rotors designed and intended for the substitution of some blind rotors.
The main advanteges of the proposed technical solution are:
- modulation structure, - constructive compaction,
- functional flexibility,
- simplification of operations of this assembly - easy removal.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS Further, an example of achivement this invention is given, also by using figs 1. .6 which represent:
- fig.l -kinematic scheme of centrifugal gas compressor with incorporated gearbo ;
- fig.2 -lateral view of the centrifugal gas compressor; - fig.3 - overview of the centrifugal gas compressor ;
- fig.4 - section view of plane I - 1, fig 3;
- fig.5 - detailed longitudinal section of the pinion assembly - coupling representing plane II - II, fig 3;
- fig. 6 - detailed longitudinal section of the rotor assembly representing plane II - II, fig. 3.
BEST MODE FOR CARY1NG OUT
The centrifugal compressor with incorporated gearbox, in accordance with this invention is made of a coupling A which makes the contact with power drive unit, which may be an electric motor or a thermal engine. The next important subassembly is a gearbox B. The gearbox B is assembled and rigidly connected to a part C, the rotor compressor subassemblies D are also rigidly connected during the mounting process. All these subassemblies and assemblies, A,B,C,D are mounted on a common baseplate E defining thus the general assembly of the incorporated gearbox centrifugal compressor.
This compressor has two or more rotor assemblies F which represent global compression stages and which are driven by means of gearbox B with a bullgear, by some pinions gear 1 transmitting the rotation by some couplings 2, double geared or slotted. To separate the gas flow which may be explosive ,from the oil flow and environement, the possibility of separation and scaling was created inside the open housing C by some bearing 3 of the rotor assembly and some bearing 4 of the pinions, by the some detachable housings 5, sealed with 0 rings 6. For ensuring visibility and access to the housings 5 , some access openings a were made in part C, facilitating the removal of housing 5. For quick removal, during a stop of this unit, for cancelling one or several global compression stages, part C is provided with some gear - support lids 7 which should not necessarily be removable and which permit the removal due to some orifFices, b, having a c diameter, larger than a c diameter of the coupling 2; this mounting,' removal operation is also ensured by some detachable lids 8, forming thus a unique detachable assembly G, made of pinion t and coupling 2.
To ensure the operation flexibility in various flow rate regimes and compression levels in operating with several rotor assemblies F, the gas circuit f, may be coupled cither in series or in parallel by means of some external pipes 9.
To ensure an additional adjustment for the compression level, the rotor assemblies F are made of some centrifugal rotors 10 which may be replaced by some blind rotors 11.
