Description

The invention relates to a method for reduce the drying properties of a soap based on fatty acid salts. It extends to new compositions cleaning agents prepared by implementing this process.

We know that based toilet soaps fatty acid have the defect of having a strong drying power for the skin. This defect results in an unpleasant feeling of dryness of the skin accompanied by a feeling of stretching, which occur a few minutes after use when all the water used evaporated and the freshness provided by it has disappeared.

We have already used (cf. DE-C-711 700) talcs of the type standard as a soap filler to reduce the cost of products obtained and sometimes, to increase the impression of softness felt during cleaning (due to the character lamellar of talc); however, the softening achieved during use is not related to drying felt after use, and these known products always have drying properties once that the water used has evaporated.

The present invention aims to reduce the drying properties of a soap based on acid salts fatty so as to remove the unpleasant feeling of drying out from the action of soap, when water used during cleaning has evaporated.

The aim of the process of the invention is to create on the skin, during use, a film replacing the natural lipid film which is destroyed or damaged by the soap. It has indeed been demonstrated that the impression of dryness is due to the destruction or deterioration of this lipid film which protects the epidermis and forms a barrier limiting the surface dehydration of the skin. When soap is used, this lipid film is dissolved by fatty acids due to their surfactant properties. In the absence of this film and until reconstituted by the epidermis, an abnormal dehydration occurs on the surface of the epidermis with as a consequence the aforementioned unpleasant sensations (drying, stretching) and risks of alteration of the skin. . The invention proposes to create on the skin, when using soap, a stable protective film replacing the natural lipid film in order to limit the surface dehydration of the epidermis until the natural lipid film is reconstituted. To this end, the process of the invention consists in adding to the soap a talc combining the following characteristics:
  • a compacted bulk density substantially less than 0.70 g / cm3,
  • a particle size distribution such that the mean diameter D 50 of the grains is substantially less than 6 microns and that the diameter D 95 is substantially less than 20 microns.

By "mean diameter D 50 " is meant a diameter such that 50% of the grains by weight have a size smaller than said diameter; by "diameter D 95 " is meant a value such that 95% of the grains by weight have a size less than said value.

The packed bulk density of a powder is defined by standard AFNOR NFT30-042. For a talc, it gives an image of the shape of the grains: effect, with equivalent particle size distribution, a talc having very elongated lamellar grains has a compacted bulk density lower than a talc having grains of less elongated shape (more spheroid). Thus, at equivalent particle size, this parameter can be considered in practice for talc as a coefficient allowing to appreciate the shape of the particles of it.

The invention comes from the observation following, made during series of comparative tests: surprisingly, we get a reduction significant drying properties of a soap when incorporating talcs into it, the grains have slightly elongated shapes, relatively spheroids (i.e. for which the surface ratio basal / lateral surface is not very high), in the measurement where the grain size does not exceed the values mentioned above.

Preferably, a talc is used microcrystalline which, by nature, presents grains of more spheroid shape, each grain being constituted by elementary particles linked together, these particles elementaries of size less than or equal to 1 micron do presenting no privileged orientation.

It is also possible to use a talc of the lamellar type having undergone a grinding capable of breaking at least partially its lamellae (impact grinding or other).

According to a preferred embodiment of the process, a microcrystalline talc is used combining the following characteristics:
  • a packed bulk density of between 0.20 and 0.60 g / cm3,
  • a particle size distribution such that the average diameter D 50 is between 2 and 5 microns and the diameter D 95 is between 6 and 14 microns.

We have seen better results when using a microcrystalline talc having undergone a impact grinding leading to a density apparent packed between 0.38 and 0.57 g / cm3.

The results obtained are difficult explicable at present. It seems that characteristics of the talc used (apparent density packed correlated to grain shape, distribution size) lead to a good grip and a good retention of talc on the surface of the skin, while more lamellar or larger grains do not are not retained by it and are eliminated on rinsing. Thus, in the invention, is formed on the surface of the skin. a hydrophobic talc protective film which has a sufficient stability to remain in place during rinsing and to play the role of barrier limiting the passage of water molecules and therefore dehydration of the epidermis, until the lipid film destroyed by the action of soap.

It should be noted that the known effect softening during use is found integrally with the aforementioned forms of talc which constitutes an additional advantage of the invention.

It seems that the best results are obtained by adding to the soap a weight proportion of talc of between 5% and 20%. In addition, a talc having an iron content of less than approximately 1.0% is preferably used in order to avoid any risk of degradation of the soap over time (this iron content being the total iron content expressed in the form of F 2 O 3 ).

The invention extends to the compositions of cleaning with low drying properties, obtained by implementation of the above method, adding to a soap a talc having the characteristics previously described.

characterized in that, with the aim of creating on the skin during use a film substituting for the natural lipidic film destroyed or damaged by the soap, talc is added to the said soap combining the following characteristics:
a compacted apparent density substantially less than 0.70 g/cm3,
a particle size distribution such that the mean diameter D50 of the grains is substantially less than 6 microns, and the diameter D95 is substantially less than 20 microns.
    2. Process according to claim 1, characterized in that there is added to the soap a proportion of talc of between 5 % and 20 % by weight.
    3. Process according to one of claims 1 or 2, characterized in that there is added to the soap a talc having been subjected to grinding capable of breaking at least partially the lamellae.
    4. Process according to one of claims 1, 2 or 3, characterized in that there is added to the soap a talc having an iron content of less than 1.0 %.
    5. Process according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that there is added to the soap a microcrystalline talc, combining the following characteristics:
a compacted apparent density of between 0.20 and 0.60 g/cm3,
a particle size distribution such that the mean diameter D50 lies between 2 and 5 microns, and the diameter D95 lies between 6 and 14 microns.
    6. Process according to claim 5, characterized in that a microcrystalline talc is added having been subjected to impact grinding so as to have a compacted apparent density of between 0.38 and 0.57 g/cm3.
    7. Cleansing composition with low drying properties, comprising a soap based on fatty acid salts, with an addition of talc in accordance with the process according to one of claims 1 to 6, the said composition being capable, during its use, of creating on the skin a film substituting for the natural lipidic film destroyed or damaged by the soap.
    8. Use of a talc combining the following characteristics:
a compacted apparent density substantially less than 0.70 g/cm3,
a particle size distribution such that the mean diameter D50 of the grains is substantially less than 6 microns, and the diameter D95 is substantially less than 20 microns,
in order to reduce the drying properties of a soap based on fatty acid salts, by creating on the skin a film substituting for the natural lipidic film destroyed or damaged by the soap.
