Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for taking x-rays of body parts of a human being, especially of x-ray slices from Jaw or skull of a patient in which one of one Radiation source generated and through an aperture Primary aperture limited beam after penetration of the Subject hits a detector array that at least has an X-ray detector.
In dental X-ray technology, procedures and Applied devices with which it is possible to take layer photographs from a person, especially from the field of Pine to create. A special application lies in the Creation of slice images, the slice course of which is vertical runs to the jaw arch. Such slices will be also called transverse sections. Compared to the otherwise usual panorama slices show such transverse sections a particularly small depth of field on. EP-0 229 971 describes a device with which such Layer images on an X-ray film are possible.
This is a Line detector camera provided with a detector that is designed as a one-part or multi-part CCD sensor. The dimensions of the detector arrangement, regardless of whether a single or multi-part sensor is used, typically 135 to 180 mm in the picture height and approx. 6 mm in the Image width. On the one hand, these dimensions take into account those for one good diagnosis necessary image acquisition size, on the other hand sufficient depth of field when looking at the individual Layers. In practice it has been shown that the aperture and Detector system must be coordinated so that the usable Beam fan for transverse layers, i.e. for the above Transversal cuts, a width of at least 20 mm in the detector plane must have a depth of field to achieve about 1 to 3 mm. A Detector arrangement in the aforementioned order is with today's technology is comparatively expensive.
The aim of the present invention is a method and a To create a device with which it is possible to enter mentioned slice images with a smaller, cheaper To be able to create a detector surface.
The fact that according to the invention the recording procedure in several, temporally separate sections to which the Detector or a detector arrangement consisting of several detectors is arranged in different positions can be a much smaller and therefore cheaper detector be used. It is particularly economical if the detector used is the dimension of the detector one so-called intraoral sensor, as it is today for intraoral recordings is used, or if a complete such an intraoral sensor is used for this. Such Sensors typically have dimensions of approximately 30 x 20 mm. With the last-mentioned variant, it can be per se sensor already used for intraoral images also for Use extraoral images (dual use).
If several transverse slice recordings are to be made, it can be advantageous to carry out the partial recordings not only in the lead-up phase but also in the return phase of the rotary unit carrying the x-ray source and the detector arrangement. The entire recording process can be accelerated significantly. From this point of view, it can also be advantageous to carry out a detector shift only when all transverse slice recordings have been carried out for one position , that is to say for a partial recording position of the detector arrangement.
It can also be advantageous to provide several detectors and arrange them at a distance. Such an arrangement with multiple detectors is still cheaper than one Detector arrangement in the image acquisition size mentioned at the beginning.
verstellbar gehaltert. Die elektromechanische Verbindung
der Zeilendetektorkamera 4 mit dem Blendensystem 7 wird anhand
der Figur 2 näher erläutert.Figure 1 shows a basic representation of a dental

The detector elements arranged inside, which will be explained in more detail later

d.h. die TDI-Richtung (TDI steht für Time Delay and Integration

FIG. 4 shows a

18' vorgesehen. Die aus dieser Anordnung resultierende ausgeleuchtete
Teilfläche A beträgt 2 x Ai.
H x B = 100 mm x 20 mm betragen
soll.
ca. 25 mm in Pfeilrichtung verschoben sind.FIG. 5 shows a detector arrangement with several detectors.

To reduce the number of exposure phases, it is an alternative also possible the gaps caused by the by far a spaced detectors have been created by additional Partially or completely close detectors. It will assumed that a mere joining of the Detectors in the given image detector level are not without influences that limit the image quality can be realized since Inactive structures arise at the joints, which are not used Contribute image capture. To avoid these disadvantages it is proposed to close the gap with detectors and this in a second, more distant image detector plane to arrange. Figures 9 and 10 show such Arrangement. The detectors are overlapping here, so that a larger part or the entire line in an acquisition phase can be illuminated.
The advantage of this arrangement is a reduction in the number of recording phases and the elimination of complex aperture control, since no sub-areas have to be hidden. Because the costs per active detector area are disproportionately high of the detector area can increase, the use of further, small detectors can be an economical solution.
Possibly by detectors arranged in the first level Shades can be caused, provided that they are caused by inactive Detector structures are evoked with usual Means of image processing, e.g. the gain and blemish correction, Getting corrected.
Among other parameters is the location of the image detector planes defines the layer to be resolved. As described, two or even more different detector levels used to detect a shift, so this negatively affects the desired layer resolution. In Practice has shown that an offset of up to 3 mm does not require any compensatory measures. For The charges can be compensated at different speeds be moved in the detector. In the case of TDI technology the charges in the detectors are the second Layer with a higher TDI clock rate moves faster than the charge in those detectors that are closer to the emitter are. Analogously, this compensation can also be used in "full frame mode".
In this case there are four recording phases with four times shift of the detector by approx. 25 mm each.
The sequence for obtaining transversal slice recordings is shown in FIG

In the last described recording procedure, the actual one Recording with radiation during the advance of the Turning unit carried out. The radiation is in the return phase switched off or it is through an aperture adjustment disabled.
There are several options for capturing the four layers in the exemplary embodiment. One is to first create a complete layer, that is to say, in the case of a detector arrangement with two detectors, to first carry out two recording sequences with a detector shift and then to record the further layers S2, S3 and S4 accordingly.
Alternatively, there is the option of in a detector position record all four layers, then the detector array move and then again every four Include layers in the second detector array. This Version has the advantage that fewer movements are necessary that may speed up the entire process.
zweiten Ausleseregister (Pos. 22, 22' in Fig. 3) auszustatten,
um den TDI-Prozeß auch in der entgegengesetzten
Richtung ausführen zu können. As already mentioned at the beginning, it can be advantageous

8, sondern liefert gleichsam aufnahmebezogene

The summation or Integration can - as shown - with the help of the CCD, which is in the so-called TDI mode are described. This creates the image during data acquisition through an 'analog' summation within the active CCD area.
Alternatively, the image acquisition is also possible without the TDI method possible by for each movement increment according to the necessary sensor movement an image of the complete sensor area is recorded and stored. For this operating mode is usually the term 'full frame mode' or 'area mode 'used. Instead of CCD technology, this alternative can be used also to a cheaper technology (e.g. CMOS technology) be resorted to. The origin of a sharp layer necessary summation of pixels takes place in this case after the data collection in a corresponding designed computing unit.
The signals of a field generated with each shot after buffering by a signal processing software processed into a layer image. Every transversal shot is therefore from the associated recordings of assembled, edited and saved on a computer and then displayed on a screen. When putting it together are the geometric positions during the calculator of the acquisition sequences and also the dimensions of the detector known.
As mentioned at the beginning, the detector width should be at least 20 mm have to meet minimum depth of field requirements transversal layer to be resolved. By moving it sideways of the aforementioned detector structures and by repetition of the described admission procedures can be the most effective Detector width increases and thus the depth of field the transverse layer can be improved.
With each transverse shift, a further record set arises. These recording sets can, as described, with the "Analog" TDI procedure or "digital" summation created will. In order to take the transverse displacement into account, these recording sets are also added up. For Summation of the digitized recording sets is understandable only the "digital" procedure can be used sensibly.
As already mentioned, the primary aperture setting is made synchronized with the adjustment of the detectors. This can be done by a motorized sliding template in the in Figure 2 shown way. Alternatively, the bezel by an appropriate adjustment of a lower and upper Delimitation done; it is also conceivable to use a rotatable one Aperture with apertures at different points to provide.
und Steuerung erfolgt ansonsten wie beschrieben.FIG. 8 shows a so-called 'dual-use' variant in which a
