Abstract

PCT No. PCT/EP96/04242 Sec. 371 Date Apr. 6, 1998 Sec. 102(e) Date Apr. 6, 1998 PCT Filed Sep. 28, 1996 PCT Pub. No. WO97/12763 PCT Pub. Date Apr. 10, 1997A description is given of a notepad comprising a stack of notes joined along a rear edge, for example by strips of pressure-sensitive adhesive, in the stack at least one first note, in which the running direction of the paper fibers extends parallel to the edge, and at least one second note, in which the running direction extends transversely to the edge, following successively one after the other. Furthermore, a process for producing such a notepad is specified.

Description

The invention relates to a notepad which consists of a For example, stacks along a rear edge there are notes connected by adhesive strips, and a process for its manufacture.

Die Zettel sind in dem Block beispielsweise durch Verleimung ihrer rückwärtigen Kanten in dem Block zusammengehalten, so daß jeweils ein oder mehrere Zettel von dem Block durch Abreißen von der Verleimung entnommen werden können (Lumbecken).Notepads are known from e.g. DE-C-4 420 947, in which mostly 50 or 100 Slips of square or rectangular cross-section are stacked on top of each other so that the block as a whole takes on a cuboid shape. The notes are in the block for example by gluing their rear edges held together in the block, so that one or more pieces of paper each Block can be removed by tearing off the glue can (lum pool).

Another way of connecting the notes to a notepad is that each note on his Back with an edge-parallel strip from one removable, self-adhesive pressure sensitive adhesive is coated (Pressure sensitive adhesive binding). Every piece of paper can be launched simply by subtracting from the one below it in the stack Notes taken and on another Removable surface. For one such notepad made of self-adhesive sticky notes it is necessary that everyone is made of paper Slip on top of it with one as a removal aid for the release coating acting on and on its underside as an adhesion promoter for the pressure sensitive adhesive is provided with a primer coating.

Advertising has long considered such notepads preferred advertising medium discovered. The individual contribute to this For example, put a note near the front edge Advertising imprint. If you fan all the notes of a notepad about with your thumb up and down leaves the individual notes by moving the Thumbs back into their flat position appears the observer has an advertising text on each piece of paper.

The invention has for its object the mentioned notepad so that other options be opened for advertising.

For this purpose, the invention provides that in the stack at least a first piece of paper showing the direction of travel the paper fibers extend parallel to the edge, and at least a second piece of paper showing the direction of travel extends across the edge, one after the other consequences. Appropriately, several first pieces of paper follow and several second pieces of paper one after the other in turn. The arrangement of the Notes so hit that between two each other following first notes a second note and between two consecutive notes each a first note are arranged. The moisture absorption of the paper causes one on the first notes Extension of the first notes across to the back Edge relative to the second notes by a distance, that stays under a millimeter and therefore for that Eye is practically invisible. Furthermore, the the first note can be bent more easily across the back edge than the second note. Therefore, when fanning out of the notepad according to the invention during a movement the thumb from bottom to top is the front one Area of every second note for the viewer visible, the first advertising imprint (for example: Headache?) At the subsequent reverse fanning out of the notes, that is, when the thumb moves from top to bottom the viewer is presented with the front area the first note represents another, for example with the first advertising imprint in a mental connection standing advertising imprint (for example: aspirin) can carry. The notepad according to the invention thus offers advertising a new and surprising for the viewer Possibility, however, all notes only need to be printed on the top.

It is also appropriate that the top and bottom slip of the notepad consists of a first slip. It is also possible to color the first slip and the second slip differently. The surprise effect made possible by the invention is supported if the first pieces of paper have a slightly lower basis weight, for example 80 g / m 2 than the second pieces of paper, which can have, for example, 90-100 g / m 2 as basis weight.

In another embodiment of the invention also on the back of the first and second notes different in the area of their front edges, mentally connected advertising imprints attached. Can also the imprints of the individual pieces of paper from the first and / or second pieces of paper can be different differ little from each other, for example, so that when fanning a movement of the with the prints Shown in the manner of a flip book appears.

Suitable for producing a notepad according to the invention a procedure that consists of a stack of Sheet of paper in which there is a first Sheet in which the direction of the paper fibers extends parallel to a side edge, with a alternates second sheet, in which the direction of rotation extends transversely to the side edge, and in this Way to be gathered into a stack, the stack cut to the size of the desired note that the note is along the rear edge be connected to each other. Of course you can the sheets with a desired promotional text in those Areas to be printed on the finished notes close to the front edge.

It is recommended to use each sheet for the adhesive binding on the back with an aqueous release coating and on the top with an aqueous one Primer coating and then the bow to dry. The primer and Release coating performed simultaneously. In areas, the near the back edge of the finished one Notes can then be placed on the primer coating the sheet of pressure sensitive adhesive strips applied parallel to the side edges become.

For the rest, a manufacturing process is distinguished a notepad of the above type, in which Paper sheets of a stack of sheets cut into pieces of paper and connected the notes on their back edge are according to the invention characterized in that the slip be stacked before connecting in such a way that at least a first piece of paper with the direction of travel the paper fibers extend parallel to the edge, and at least a second piece of paper showing the direction of travel extends across the edge, one after the other consequences. This method is useful particularly advantageous that several first notes and several second pieces of paper one after the other in turn consequences. It is also recommended to choose between each two successive first pieces of paper, each a second one Slip and between two consecutive second Stack the first slip of paper.

As a method of making a notepad the the aforementioned type, in the paper sheet of a stack of sheets cut into pieces of paper and put the pieces of paper on their rear edge, comes further considering the sheets of paper to be the stack of sheets are collected in such a way that between two first paper sheet in which the direction of the paper fibers parallel to a paper sheet side edge extend, interposed at least a second sheet of paper whose direction is transverse to the Paper sheet side edge extends.

A device with which sheets of paper with primer, Release and pressure sensitive adhesive can be coated described for example in the document WO 94/19419.

Fig. 1 shows a cuboid notepad 1 made of several superimposed notes 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 consists of paper. The paper fibers are available in commercially available papers in one certain preferred direction that is normally aligned parallel to one of the side edges of a sheet of paper is directed.

Paper is known to take moisture from the environment so that the fibers of the paper absorb moisture sources. The length does not change of paper fibers, but they become wider. With that changed the cross taken to the direction of the fibers Dimension of the paper by going towards this Dimension becomes larger.

The latter relationships are illustrated in FIG. 2 and 3. In the paper sheet 21, the running direction is Paper fibers 25 indicated by the double arrow 27. The Paper sheet 21 can, as in the lower part of the Fig. 2 indicated, transverse to the direction 27 slightly inwards to bend.

In contrast, a paper sheet 22 according to FIG Direction of the paper fibers 24 with the double arrow 26 is indicated, according to the lower part of FIG. 3 only bend weakly in the direction of the double arrow 26 if one to bend the paper sheets 21 and 22 the same Use power.

These properties of paper fibers are evident in the notepad 1 exploited. As shown in Fig. 1, are the individual pieces of notepad 1 from above numbered consecutively from 12 to 20 below. All notes have a common rear edge 3, are the same large, here cut rectangular, and are in the notepad 1 stacked on top of each other, completely overlapping. Notes 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, i.e. the top one Note 12 and the one as it progresses downwards next but one note 14, 16, 18 and the last note 20 are cut so that your preferred direction Paper fibers 32, 34, 36, 38, 40 parallel to the back Edge 3 points. The notes in between 13, 15, 17, 19 are cut so that their paper fibers 33, 35, 37, 39 lie transversely to the rear edge 3.

After absorbing moisture, at least the first note 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, in which the direction of rotation Paper fibers 32, 34, 36, 38, 40 parallel to the back Edge 3 points in its dimension transverse to the rear Edge 3 become slightly larger, their leading edges 42, 44, 46, 48, 50 by a certain distance over the leading edges 43, 45, 49 of the second note in between 13, 15, 17, 19 project. The size of this supernatant is naturally favored by the fact that the first Slip and second slip on their common the rear edge 3 are fixed. For notepads whose Note dimensions in the order of 10 cm the overhang is less than 1 mm and is therefore hardly perceptible to the eye.

The connection of all notes 12 ... 20 at their common rear edge 3 can either be done by that enclosing the rear edge 3, in Fig. 1 not recognizable rear surface of the notepad 1 glued, stapled or stapled, and the notes 12 ... 20 otherwise no connection with each other or that each of the notes 12 ... 20 not near the rear edge 3 on that in Fig. 1 recognizable bottom with a parallel to the edge 3 Pressure sensitive adhesive strip is provided. You can use a pressure sensitive adhesive serve, for example from the US patent 3,691,140 and from German patents 28 36 319 and 24 17 312 is known. For the use of such a pressure sensitive adhesive it is useful if the tops of all notes 12 ... 20, for example the Top 10 of the uppermost first note 12 with a the release layer facilitates the release of the pressure sensitive adhesive and the bottom of each of the notes 12 ... 20 with an adhesion promoter or primer. Then can each first and second note 12 ... 20 of the Slightly pull off the paper underneath and thanks to the pressure sensitive adhesive on any other Glue the surface back on.

It is understood that the excess of the first slip 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 via the second slip 13, 15, 17, 19 and the strength of each of the slips 12 ... 20 in Fig. 1 for better clarification of the relationships described are shown exaggerated to scale.

If you bend all pieces of paper 12 ... 20 of notepad 1 through it down on that you can notepad 1 on the back Hold edge 3 and with your thumb from the top Note 12 started down over the downward curved Slip the slip, the top slip be gradually released and their flat location take again, as shown in Fig. 5, one becomes practical only from the first notes 12, 14, 16, 18.20 in this order the front edges 42, 44, 46, 48, Detect 50 neighboring areas while the front edges 43, 45, 47, 49 near areas of the second Notes 13, 15, 17, 19 covered with this thumb movement stay. Therefore, the edges 42, 44, 46, 48, 50 near areas on top of the slip 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 a first advertising text (headache?) printed on, which the viewer perceives.

On the other hand, the notes 12 ... 20 of the notepad 1 by holding onto the common rear Edge 3 is bent upwards and the thumb slides over the edges 50 ... 42 in this order above, the viewers will see the edges 49, 47, 45, 43 of the second slip 19, 17, 15, 13 adjacent areas become visible while the corresponding areas near the edges 50, 48, 46, 44, 42 of the first slip 20, 18, 16, 14, 12 remain hidden from his eyes. This is because the second pieces of paper 13, 15, 17, 19 because of the above explained in connection with Figure 3 Relationships together with those above first slip 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 itself from the upward move back into the flat position and because of their relative to the first notes 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 only a little shorter length when swiping up the thumb over the edges 50 ... 42 each immediately below the first note cover almost completely. Therefore, on the edge near Areas of Another advertising text on the top of the notes 19, 17, 15, 13 be printed, for example with the first Promotional text has a mental connection, so such as a drug that is used to relieve headaches recommends. You therefore need the notepad 1 neither to turn nor to turn over, as it is for example with double-sided printing each of the Note 12 ... 20 would be required.

The described property of the notepad according to the invention is supported if the first slips 12, 14, 16, 18, 20) have a slightly lower basis weight, for example 80 g / m 2, than the second slips, for which a basis weight of approximately 90-100 g / m 2 can be selected.

So far for the production of the notepad according to the invention in any case, the stickers with adhesive to their common rear edge 3 are connected to a Device through, such as in the international Patent application with the publication number WO 94/19419 is described in detail. It is assumed that there is a stack of sheets that alternating from superimposed first and second Arch exists, the first arch one to one Side edge parallel to the direction of the paper fibers and the second sheet a crosswise to the side edge Have the direction of the paper fibers. The bow are successively on one side with an aqueous Release coating and on the other hand at the same time provided with an aqueous primer coating, then dried and under a transfer belt for transferring pressure sensitive adhesive to the one coated with primer Passed through. After that they run Pressure sensitive adhesive strips 58 according to FIG. 4 parallel to one Side edge 56 of the sheet 51, 52, 53, 54, the sheet 52 and 54 a running direction 55, 57 of the paper fibers transverse to the side edge 56 and the sheets 51 and 53 a Direction 59, 61 of the paper fibers parallel to the side edge 56 have.

After applying the pressure sensitive adhesive, the sheets are closed again stacked together, e.g. between one or two sheets each with the direction of cross Each side edge has a sheet parallel to the running direction to the side edge and between one or two sheets each the direction parallel to the side edge, one sheet each with the running direction arranged transversely to the side edge are. The sheet stack is then cut so that the common rear edge of the notepads obtained therefrom extends parallel to the side edge 56 or coincides with this.
