Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a guide ring for a projectile, the guide ring in one Circumferential groove of a projectile casing is arranged.
The purpose of such guide rings is to guide the projectile in the barrel when it is fired and to set it in rotation about the longitudinal axis (swirl). Such guide rings, which mostly consist of metallic materials, are known, for example, from DE-OS 37 36 167 or DE-OS 35 08 053 . Such guide rings have the disadvantage that the wear of the weapon barrel can be relatively high. However, the premature wear of the weapon barrel can be reduced if a suitable plastic is used as the material for the guide rings. The manufacture, assembly and fastening of such guide rings is relatively cumbersome and expensive. With DE-OS 35 25 854 a similar guide ring has become known, which is formed from two half rings which can be firmly connected to one another by a snap lock. However, this guide ring is not firmly connected to the projectile shell, but is arranged to slide on it, so that only a residual twist can be given to the projectile when it is fired.
The invention has for its object a guide ring of the type mentioned propose that does not have the disadvantages mentioned above.
This object is achieved by the invention specified in claim 1 . Here, the guide ring is firmly connected by openings in the projectile casing to a sealing body arranged on the rear of the projectile in the interior of the projectile casing. The guide ring is formed together with the sealing body during one step of a manufacturing process by injecting a plastic into the projectile casing through its open back.
The advantages achieved with the invention are the fact that the guide ring on manufactured in a simple manner and firmly and securely connected to the projectile casing is, with only low manufacturing costs.
- Fig.1
- einen Längsschnitt durch einen Teil eines Geschosses,
- Fig.2
- Fig.3
- Fig. 1
- a longitudinal section through part of a floor,
- Fig. 2
- a longitudinal section of a shell of the projectile according to Figure 1 , and
- Fig. 3
- a cross section along the line III-III in Figure 2 on a larger scale, through part of the shell.
1 to 3 , 1 denotes a jacket which is formed from a
The
