Abstract

A dice-like toy composed of a polygonal body with main surfaces located in pairs opposite each other, which are respectively used as resting surfaces and as display surfaces. The main surfaces are arranged on the body in such a way that the axis of symmetry of oppositely located resting and display surfaces are inclined relative to each other. This results in a shape of the toy which, in contrast to conventional dice, no longer generates an essentially straight-line throw, but causes more direct and more abrupt directional changes in the course of progress because of increasingly occurring edges. In this connection, elliptical surfaces are particularly preferred as the main game surfaces, wherein the two elliptical main axes of oppositely located main surfaces extend perpendicularly to each other.

Description

Gebiet der ErfindungField of the Invention

The invention relates to the field of gaming and entertainment devices, especially cube-like play equipment that at the end of a certain movement sequence remain in one position the one usually pointing upwards a certain one Result or a specific symbol from its value for example, the progress of a game associated with the dice or play equipment is determinable. Such cube-like play equipment but can also independently, without additional accessories, to play and Find entertainment purposes.

Stand der TechnikState of the art

Such a game device is known from DE 36 03 162 A1; this body for the dice game differs from the traditional one Cubes only by replacing the six square ones Side surfaces six diamond-shaped side surfaces are provided, the should at least give the impression of something Dice behavior prefer to achieve a desired result can. Here are the opposite support and display areas forming side surfaces shifted against each other.

US 4,465,279 sees one composed of two halves Pentagon dodecahedron in front, with a total of twelve support and display surfaces are each formed as a pentagon. Opposing Pentagons have the same display symbols (e.g. the same Digit). The goal of this construction is a statistically absolute same probability of occurrence for all ad symbols that "Throwing characteristics" is relative because of the large number of areas straight.

Diese Ausgestaltung dieses vorbekannten Gegenstandes ermöglicht insbesondere auch bei entsprechender größenmäßiger Ausgestaltung ballähnliche Spiele und ist somit als Spielgerät zu klassifizieren, das in einem Übergangsbereich zwischen Würfel und Ball angesiedelt ist.DE 36 41 730 A1 shows a similar game device, which consists of a Polygon is formed with a larger number of main surfaces, which are connected to each other with rounded edges, so that this polygon has a spherical shape approaches. In contrast to the subject of the first-mentioned publication is intended to be manipulated by the high degree of symmetry individual surfaces of the polygon and the spherical shape be excluded. It is also the subject of this document a goal of creating a variety of areas, however, areas of different sizes should be avoided. This Design of this known object enables especially with a corresponding size configuration ball-like games and is therefore classified as a gaming device, that is located in a transition area between the cube and the ball is.

Darstellung der ErfindungPresentation of the invention

Object of the invention compared to the known cube-like Play equipment is, on the one hand, the movement sequence of this Game device in its intended use more surprising to design without (for example by a corresponding Change in symmetry) a preference for at least the main playing areas to effect in the course of the game.

According to the invention, this object is achieved according to patent claim 1 solved.

The basic idea of the solution according to the invention is therefore included in it see that by the inclination of mutually corresponding axes of symmetry opposing oval main surfaces against each other, in particular, if they are perpendicular to each other, not essentially more straight throw, like with conventional dice, but through those that increasingly occur in the course of movement Canting creates a surprising movement in the sense will that more direct and abrupt changes in direction occur the overall movement of the game device is less predictable and thus make more surprising.

A particularly preferred embodiment provides that it is the main oval playing fields are ellipses that are in the are essentially generated as cut surfaces, the two Major ellipse axes of opposite major surfaces are perpendicular to stand by each other. This arrangement creates freedom in the Transitional or corner areas of the game body between the elliptical cut surfaces according to a further embodiment also have a flattened area that forms a secondary surface, which face each other in a diagonal of space of the body and can also form support or display areas. By a appropriate design of the contact surface or the ratio of the contact areas of the main areas to the secondary areas thus two classes of result areas form, which different meanings depending on the content of the game can be; for example, can be much smaller trained secondary areas serve as joker areas, i.e. as Areas where they occur (if the body is on such a surface small area comes to rest) a certain game content or Game progress is made possible for the respective dice that he otherwise with "regular" result (main surfaces as contact surfaces) not can make.

On the main areas and at least on some of the above Auxiliary areas are preferably corresponding symbols, this can be game symbols or advertising symbols, depending on the Purpose of the game device, for example as a promotional item.

Another particularly preferred embodiment of the game device provides that these represent the meaning of the respective game Symbols within the main areas and / or the secondary areas are particularly different from their surroundings in that they differently colored or made of different material exist, this being technically simple and aesthetically very can be done satisfactorily in particular by the fact that the game device from a separately manufactured core on the one hand and on the other hand, there is at least one partial shell, the core and Shell corresponding, interlocking shapes and have recesses that the respective symbols represent. For example, due to the use colored plastic materials can be manufactured here simple way a vivid overall impression of the Generate play equipment.

Beschreibung des bevorzugten AusführungsbeispielsDescription of the preferred embodiment

1A and 2A show perspective representations, wherein the perspective view of Figure 2A from the perspective view 1A by rotation about the axis R-R in FIG. 1A by 90 ° emerges (in FIG. 1A, the viewing direction is oblique from above in Direction of the major axis of the main elliptical surface 11, in Figure 2A is the direction of view obliquely from above towards the major axis of the elliptical main surface 11).

Figures 1B and 2B show the corresponding perspective views with additional drawing in dash-dotted lines Cubes as an enveloping structure; from these representations clearly that the main surfaces visible in these representations as elliptical cut surfaces of a spherical body with the Side surfaces of this enveloping cube can be represented formally, the axes of the ellipse each in the direction of the diagonal of the assigned cube surface.

Figures 1C and 2C correspond to Figures 1A in the illustration and 2A, but dashed the rear, invisible three of which a total of six main areas 11 ... 16 are still shown; this representation makes it particularly clear that the main axes opposite, parallel main surfaces (corresponding to the opposite side surfaces of the enveloping Cubes in Figures 1B and 2B) run perpendicular to each other, as shown by the example of the main surfaces 13 and 15 in FIG. 1C appropriate hatching should be illustrated.

Finally, Figures 1D and 2D provide a summary of the previous Figures 1B and 1C and 2B and 2C; also from these representations are particularly the assignment of opposite Main areas clearly on the one hand in parallel to each other Layers corresponding to the opposite side faces of the enveloping cube run, but on the other hand against each other in this plane are rotated by 90 °. The overall presentation of the Figures 1 and 2 also illustrate the transition areas between the main elliptical surfaces 11 ... 16, four of which (21 and 22 in Figure 1A, for example) as large, rounded corner areas between the "long sides" of adjacent elliptical main surfaces 11, 12 and 13 (corner area 21) are formed, whereas four others Corner areas (23, 24 and 25 in Figure 1A) very much smaller are formed where the "tips" of main surfaces are adjacent.

There are additional flats on the larger four corner areas provided that the secondary surfaces 31 ... 34 form as additional Play areas can be used (support area and display area). Due to the geometry, there are two Secondary areas in the diagonal of the cube body opposite.

For reasons of clarity, FIGS Representation no symbols drawn on the main areas 11 ... 16, this is shown in Figure 3, where the game device again in Form is shown by six side views and as cube eyes Usual cube symbols are attached to the main surfaces 11 ... 16. Figure 3 also contains two vertical sectional views in the levels A-A and B-B, respectively, from which the preferred embodiment a practical technical implementation of the invention Game device emerges, namely from a core 40 and one of these Shell 40 enclosing shell 50, for example as a pre-molded part and pre-molded part in a multi-stage injection molding process are producible.

A special embodiment here provides that the View representations hatched play eyes as Formations 41 of the core are realized in corresponding Recesses 51 of the shell 50 engage, so that from this different options both in color design as well different surface design of the top of the play eyes on the one hand and the remaining surface of the gaming device on the other result.

A variant of this technical implementation finally shows the Sectional view of Figure 4, where a core 40 and two shells 50A, 50B are manufactured separately and then the two partial shells can be locked together via locking elements 60, 61, the locking tongues have that in correspondingly corresponding undercuts of the opposite.
