Definitions

  • the invention relates to a valve control for a multi-valve internal combustion engine equipped with lift valves for gas exchange, which is provided with a valve drive equipped with pivoting levers, according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the exhaust valves and the intake valves are each grouped into one of two groups.
  • a longitudinal center plane of the cylinder head seen in the longitudinal direction of the exhaust camshaft, all the support elements assigned to the exhaust valves are arranged in such a way that their longitudinal axes are arranged on the outside with respect to this longitudinal center plane. The same arrangement was made on the other side of this longitudinal median plane for the two intake valves, each of which is external to a cylinder.
  • the receptacles for the hydraulic support elements are arranged adjacent to the longitudinal center plane, so that their longitudinal axes are arranged on the inside in comparison with the longitudinal axes of the other outlet valves.
  • the three support elements of the intake valves assigned to a cylinder are thus arranged in a zigzag shape in the longitudinal direction.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a generic valve control for a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine equipped with globe valves with a valve train provided with pivoting levers, which actuates the valves in a geometrically simple manner and groups and serves the same purpose, this one being as simple as possible Manufacturing of this valve control and the use of components that are as similar as possible should enable.
  • the oil supply required when using hydraulic support elements is to be ensured and implemented in a comparatively simple manner.
  • the invention provides that, viewed in the longitudinal direction of each camshaft, a group of similar lift valves assigned to a cylinder is supported on supporting elements, the longitudinal axes of which are external to a central longitudinal plane of the cylinder head, the group immediately following this in the longitudinal direction being assigned Longitudinal axes of the support elements of the adjacent cylinder run on the inside with respect to this longitudinal center plane.
  • this combination of features means that the area of the cylinder head assigned to each cylinder is symmetrical to the longitudinal center plane while maintaining the position of the camshafts with respect to adjacent cylinders, that is to say it is rotated by 180 ° in the parting plane between the cylinder head and crankcase.
  • this maintains the position of the longitudinal axes of the camshafts between the longitudinal axes of the support elements and the lift valves, which is required for a favorable power transmission between the camshaft and the pivot lever, for all cylinders and all lift valves.
  • the geometrical arrangement of pivoting levers and support elements within a group of identical valves each assigned to a cylinder is identical, which results in a particularly simple bore pattern in terms of production technology due to the parallel arrangement of the longitudinal axes of the support element and the lift valve.
  • the position of the receptacles for the support elements which does not alternate within a group of similar lift valves, enables a comparatively simple supply of pressure or lubricating oil.
  • this valve control is suitable for internal combustion engines whose cylinder axes are not in one plane, i. H. either be V-shaped to each other or arranged in two parallel rows to each other.
  • the rows of cylinders are each comparatively close together or interlocked, so that either a so-called VR arrangement or a two-row internal combustion engine with z. B. results in a crankshaft.
  • a cylinder head 1 of a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine has a combustion chamber surface 2 facing a crankcase, not shown, with combustion chambers 3 partially formed therein.
  • the cylinder head 1 is delimited by lateral walls 4 and 5, which in turn carry a bearing surface 6 running parallel to the combustion chamber surface 2.
  • bearings 7 and bearings 8, each for a camshaft 9 and 10 are formed in the bearing surface 6 in mirror image to one another.
  • These camshafts 9, 10 each carry cams 11, 12 which, with the interposition of pivoting levers 14, 15, actuate lift valves 16 serving for the outlet and lift valves 17 serving for the inlet.
  • the combustion chambers 3 of adjacent cylinders are equally spaced from and on opposite sides of the longitudinal center plane E, so that one can speak of a two-row internal combustion engine with a cylinder head 1 common to both rows.
  • the lift valves 16, 17 assigned to each cylinder are combined in groups G 16 and G 17 , which act in the same way. In this case, two lift valves 16 serving the outlet are assigned to one group G 16 , and two lift valves 17 serving the inlet are assigned to group G 17 .
  • the globe valves 16 or 17 of a group G 16 or G 17 are arranged parallel to one another and lying in one plane.
  • cams 11 and two cams 12 are arranged on the camshafts 9, 10 for each cylinder of the internal combustion engine.
  • the pivot levers 14, 15 assigned to these cams 11, 12 work with one of their ends on the lift valves 16, 17, while the opposite other end is supported in each case on a hydraulic support element 18, 19 containing a valve lash adjuster. These are held in receptacles 20, 21 of the cylinder head 1 which are supplied with oil from a lubrication system of the internal combustion engine.
  • Longitudinal axes 22 extending in the direction of movement of the lift valves 16, 17 are arranged parallel to longitudinal axes 23 of the support elements 18, 19, the longitudinal axes 24, 25 of the camshafts 9, 10 each extending transversely to and between the longitudinal axes 22 and 23 of a pivoting lever 14, 15.
  • the receptacles 20 and 21 run parallel to the bores 30, 31 in the cylinder head 1 that are required to hold valve guides 26.
  • valve spring retainers 28 and valve springs 29 are assigned to the lift valves 16, 17 in a manner known per se.
  • two combustion valves 3 are assigned two comparatively short globe valves and two comparatively long globe valves.
  • the combustion chambers 3 located adjacent to the wall 5 are each assigned short, inlet valves 17 and long, outlet valves 16.
  • the combustion chamber 3 of a next cylinder lying adjacent to the combustion chamber 3 according to FIG. 1 is arranged lying adjacent to the wall 4 according to FIG.
  • These combustion chambers 3 each have two comparatively long, inlet valves 17, which are inserted together with their valve guides 26 in bores 30, and two comparatively short, outlet valves 16, which are held with their valve guides 26 in corresponding bores 31 are.
  • the position of the receptacles 20 of a specific cylinder according to FIG. 1 is such that the associated longitudinal axes 23 are each on the left on the longitudinal axes 24 and 25 of the camshafts 9 and 10 point past.
  • the receptacles 21 are each arranged in such a way that the longitudinal axes 23 of the support elements 18, 19 lie on the right past the longitudinal axes 24, 25 of the camshafts 9, 10.
  • this means compare FIG. 3, that along this camshaft 9 there are initially two receptacles 20 which are on the inside with respect to the longitudinal center plane E and, for the cylinder lying adjacent thereto, the receptacles 21 are arranged on the outside with respect to this plane E. It can also be seen from FIG. 3 that a bearing 7 or 8 of the camshaft 9 or 10 is arranged between the receptacles 20 each assigned to a cylinder. Also visible in an end wall 32 of the cylinder head 1 are end bearings 7a and 8a, a shaft 33 lying closely adjacent to the longitudinal center plane E for receiving a spark plug or a fuel injection device, and through holes 34 for receiving cylinder head screws (not shown).
  • the oil leads to the support elements 18, 19 held in the receptacles 20 and in the form of the oil channels 41 to the receptacles 21 on the right and in them held support elements 18, 19th
  • the necessary lubricating oil is supplied to the bores 42, which are connected to the oil channel 40 and 41 located on the outside with respect to the longitudinal center plane E.
