Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a coupling device rear for electrical connector for shielded cable.
  • the present invention relates to the part said rear connector in an electrical connector which allows especially the recovery of the shielding braid of the electric cable.
  • Shielded wired connections are used wherever possible encounter electromagnetic problems.
  • the designer of a electrical installation must therefore define the electrical connection with a specified shielding performance meeting civil standards or military. It must therefore specify all the elements making up this electrical connection.
  • the cable constituting the connection must have a shielding with defined values and the connection part must also have the corresponding required characteristics.
  • the connector part can be broken down into two main parts: specific connector proper meeting good standards and the part of the connection made up of an "accessory rear "presenting at one of its ends an adaptation to be able be mounted on the connector and on its other end an adaptation to resume the general shielding of the cable and the possible shields of the constituent elements of the cable.
  • FIG. 1 illustrates schematically the first of these techniques.
  • the connector itself 10, the cable 12 with its braid shield 14 and its main electrical conductors 16.
  • the rear connection device 18 has a large diameter so that the rear connector 18 can be moved away from the connector 10 by displacement around the cable 12, which leaves enough room to wire the electrical conductors 16 to the connector in optimal conditions.
  • the rear connector 18 is placed on the connector 10 and the braid shield 14 must be crimped onto the shield recovery part 20.
  • the braid 14 must be mechanically deformed in order to increase the diameter and bring it to the diameter of the chimney resumption of shielding.
  • Such a solution makes it possible to carry out the wiring under optimal conditions and therefore at a relatively reduced cost but it is inapplicable in the case where the shielding must respect severe specific conditions, in particular with regard to recovery of the shielding braid on the rear connector.
  • the object of the present invention is to provide a device for rear connector for electrical connector for shielded cable which simultaneously allows resumption of shielding meeting standards specific in force while authorizing the implementation of wiring operations of primary electrical conductors in optimal production conditions.
  • connection device rear consists essentially of a recovery part and a part separate from each other. So it is possible to achieve the wiring operation of the primary conductors and the resumption of shielding braid to separate the fastening part which can slide freely around the cable and do not replace this piece of fixing only when all wiring operations have been carried out under optimal accessibility conditions. The resumption of shielding is carried out after the attachment piece is secured to the connector.
  • said second bearing surface is constituted by the wall of said axial orifice, said wall having the shape of a trunk of cone the apex of which is outside said cavity
  • said first bearing surface is constituted by a second surface in the form of truncated cone, disposed between the sleeve and the second end of said rework piece, said first and second surfaces frustoconical constituting a conical fitting with wedging when said first end of the recovery part is engaged in the axial orifice of the fixing part, said sleeve projecting out of said fastener.
  • the fixing part is constituted by a metal cover and said second part is flat and said take-up piece further comprises a flat plate on which said sleeve is fixed and provided with an orifice opposite said sleeve, said plate being substantially orthogonal to said sleeve, the periphery of said plate constituting said first support part.
  • the rear connection device bearing the general reference 50, is essentially consisting of a fixing piece 52, a piece of resumption of shielding 54 and a joining member 56.
  • the fixing piece 52 has the shape of a sleeve cylindrical, one end of which is closed by a wall 58.
  • the sleeve 52 thus defines a cylindrical cavity of sufficient diameter to freely receive the part 54, its end 60 being open.
  • the wall 58 is pierced with an axial orifice 62.
  • the internal wall 64 of orifice 62 is a truncated cone whose apex is outside of the cavity.
  • the minimum diameter D'1 of the axial orifice 62 is greater than the external diameter D1 of the cable 68 to be mounted on the connector 66.
  • the recovery piece 54 first comprises a sleeve 70 of resumption of shielding whose external diameter D'2 is substantially equal to the diameter D2 of the shielding braid 72 of the cable 68 to be mounted on the connector 66. It then comprises a threaded portion 74, the outer diameter is less than the diameter D'1. It finally includes a portion 76 defining a frustoconical external surface to form with the frustoconical surface 64 of the orifice 62 a fitting conical to wedging. In addition, the part 54 is pierced with an axial bore 78 to allow the passage of electrical conductors 80 to be wired on the connector.
  • the rear connector finally includes a fixing nut 56 able to cooperate with the threaded part 74 of the recovery part 54 when the latter is engaged in the fixing part 52.
  • This nut 56 by pressing on the external face 58a of the wall 58 ensures the joining of the recovery part 54 on the fixing part 52.
  • the internal diameter D "1 of the nut is greater than the external diameter D1 of the cable 68.
  • the wiring operation is carried out as follows: sliding, the part 52 and the nut 56 are separated from the end of the cable 68 to be mounted on connector 66.
  • the ends of the conductors 80 primaries of the cable are introduced into the axial bore 78 of the part resumption 54 and the shielding braid 72 is crimped on the sleeve 70. then makes the electrical connection of the ends of the conductors primary 80 on the electrical contacts of the connector. This last operation can be done easily since the fixing part 52 is dismissed.
  • the part is brought closer 52 for fixing it to the rear face of the connector 66 by its end 60.
  • the fixing means are well known and have not been shown in Figures 3 and 4.
  • the sleeve 70 and the threaded portion 74 make protrusion from the fixing part 52.
  • the nut 56 is then screwed onto the threaded portion 74 of the recovery part 54.
  • the wiring operation is finished.
  • cable 68 includes shielded conductors individually by braid
  • a recovery piece additional 90 having an axial bore 92, a first end 94 for fixing to the recovery part 54, and a sleeve 96 which takes up all of the individual shields. This is what we represented on the figure 5.
  • FIG. 7 illustrates an embodiment of the invention in in the case of an elbow rear connection.
  • the fixing part which bears the reference 52 ' has the desired angled shape and the recovery piece 54 is identical to that Figures 3 and 4.
  • the end 100 of the part 52 ' is closed by a wall 102 pierced with a frustoconical orifice 104 capable of cooperating with the frustoconical bearing surface of the recovery piece 54.
  • the diameter of the orifice 104 is sufficient to allow free passage of the cable to be mounted.
  • a nut not shown in Figure 7 allows to secure the parts 52 ' and 54.
  • FIG. 8 illustrates yet another variant of implementation of the invention in the case where the cable has an outer diameter D1 plus important.
  • a fixing piece 52 'and a piece of recovery (not shown in Figure 8) whose diameters are compatible with the external diameter of the cable.
  • a 110 connecting piece is provided on the rear side of the connector and on the end of the 52 "piece to change from increased diameter of 52 "fastener to diameter connector standard.
  • FIG. 9a there is shown the cable 68 of external diameter D1 with its shielding braid 72 and its primary conductors 80 of which the ends 80a must be fixed on the terminals 120 of the connector 122.
  • the connector is rectangular.
  • the piece of resumption 124 is constituted by a conductive plate 126 for example of rectangular shape pierced with a axial port 128.
  • the sleeve 130 for shielding recovery is fixed to the external face 126a of the plate 126 opposite the orifice 128.
  • the fixing piece is constituted by a shielding cover 132 made from a conductive sheet.
  • One of the faces 134 of the parallelepiped is open and is intended to receive the body of the connector 122. This can be fixed to the cover via screws 136 mounted in a flange 138 of the cover.
  • the face 140 of the cover 132 is pierced with an orifice 142 of shape rectangular.
  • the port 142 could also be circular or oblong.
  • the dimensions of the orifice 142 are smaller than those of the plate 126 of the recovery piece 124.
  • the connector wiring is carried out as follows:
  • the connector 122 not yet being fixed on the cover 132, the end of the cable 68 is introduced inside the cover through the orifice 142, this end comprising the suitable stripping of the braid shield 72 and primary conductors 80.
  • the recovery piece 124 is engaged around the end of the cable so that the end of the braid surrounds the sleeve 130 and that the end of the cable passes through sleeve and port 128 to protrude out of the inner face 126b of the plate 126.
  • the end of the braid 72 is fixed on the sleeve 130, for example, using a clamp 146.
  • the connector 122 is fixed to the cover 132 at the right of opening 134.
