- the invention relates to a 3/2-way valve for a fuel supply device of an injection internal combustion engine according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the invention addresses the problem for a Fuel filter in a generic fuel supply device an inexpensive to manufacture and safe to create functioning venting device by the filter not yet filled with fuel during insertion of the fuel is automatically vented.
- a such automatic venting is particularly the case with First start-up of an engine desired. The same also applies when changing the filter.
- a practical embodiment of such a valve is the subject of claim 2.
- the invention is based on the idea of a 3/2-way valve to use for ventilation, which in a generic Fuel supply device itself already exists can be (DE 4435625 A1), and this only accordingly to modify.
- This modification exists according to the invention in not only closing the switchable output - as usual - temperature - but also can still be controlled depending on pressure.
- the pressure dependency cause in cases where in the raw space of the filter there is a higher pressure than upstream of the directional valve in the return line, no closure of the switchable Output is possible.
- a aforementioned pressure ratio is always given when the return line is not yet included fuel returning from the injection pump is. Since such a condition when filling the Filters in new condition of the facility or after a filter change is given, the directional control valve can in this operating state perform the desired venting function.
- a temperature controlled by a switchable valve Fuel return through the filter is state of the art practiced to return from the injection pump warm fuel for direct heating of the fuel flow to use in the filter. It is only a partial flow is returned through the filter, while the rest Part of the return flows directly back into the tank. Has the returning fuel entering the directional control valve a certain predeterminable temperature is reached assume that the fuel inlet entering the filter has a temperature that no longer requires an increase. In this case, the fuel can return can be prevented by the filter.
- the known directional control valve is therefore designed so that it The fuel return temperature is exceeded by a specified value or value range for a suppression a fuel backflow through the filter.
- the well-known temperature-dependent switching of the directional valve takes place with respect to the closing and opening of the switchable Output not at a precisely specified temperature value, but rather at the limits of a hysteresis Switching temperature range.
- the switching hysteresis can be, for example Take up to 30 ° C.
- the invention consists in closing the closure member of the valve not only temperature but also beyond can also be made pressure-dependent. Because of that it is - as in detail in the description of an embodiment will be explained in more detail - possible, so far already used exclusively as preheating directional control valves 3/2-way valves by only a minor constructive modification at the same time as a vent valve to use and the latter as a separate Saving valve.
- Embodiments of the invention are in schematic Shape shown in the drawing.
- the flow diagram in Fig. 1 shows the function and structure a fuel supply device in which an inventive 3/2-way valve is used.
- a fuel filter 8 is provided in the feed line 3.
- Fuel can be in an appropriate position of the directional control valve 7 from the flow line 3 into the filter inflowing fuel can be mixed.
- At a such position of the directional control valve is part a of this valve assigned to the return line 6.
- Downstream of the directional valve 7, a flow restrictor 9 is provided.
- the directional valve 7 works depending on temperature and pressure. Below one Temperature of the fuel return in line 6 from for example 5 ° C is a closure of the outlet 10 of the Directional control valves 7 not in relation to the raw side of the filter 8 possible.
- Splits when the injection pump 5 is in operation the fuel return in this valve 7 to two Partial flows, one of which flows back into tank 1 and the other is fed to the filter 8. This mode of operation serves to transfer the fuel from the tank 1 to the injection pump 5 fuel delivered by the higher temperature To heat the fuel return.
- the temperature range between 5 ° and 35 ° C is a through the construction of the valve according to the invention conditional Switching hysteresis, according to which the closing element of the valve from its closed position only at the lower temperature value returns to its open position. This will continue are discussed in more detail below.
- the directional valve should at least be sure that on the one hand below the lower temperature value of, for example, 5 ° C a closure of the outlet 10 is avoided and that on the other hand above a predetermined upper temperature value of for example 35 ° C no fuel return through the Filters can be done more. Between the two mentioned Temperature limits, that is, in the hysteresis-related Switching range does not matter whether fuel is through the filter flows back or not.
- Refluxing fuel emerges from the return line 6 through an inlet pipe 11 into the directional valve 7 and can this in the direction of the tank 1 via an outlet nozzle Leave 12.
- a switchable output 10 can a partial flow of the fuel flowing back into the filter 8 on the raw side.
- the closure member of the directional control valve 7 is a membrane 13 made of bimetal. This membrane 13 bulges depending on the temperature in opposite directions, only the arched States are stable membrane states. 2 is a curvature of the membrane 13 is drawn, which this at a Temperature of, for example, below 5 ° C. The opposite curvature that the membrane 13 at temperatures 3 and 4 again. In the hysteresis-related temperature range between 5 ° and 35 ° C both curvatures are possible, each after which limit temperature the last bulge change has taken place.
- the membrane 13 has its curvature from the position shown in Fig. 2 when exceeding 35 ° C changed, it only gets the initial curvature when it falls below the temperature below the lower limit of 5 ° C. back.
- the membrane 13 is radial in the housing of the directional control valve 7 mounted on the outside, being around its outer circumference in axial Direction can flow around.
- the storage of the membrane 13 radially outside is such that an at least slight axial Slidability is given. This axial displaceability enables a temperature-independent ventilation function of the valve in the following way.
- the membrane 13 With a direction of curvature of the membrane 13 according to FIG. 3 the membrane 13 is in a position in which it has the option of the switchable outlet 10 of the valve 7 to be able to close the tube space of the filter 8. By doing this position only the possibility of a closure of the switchable output 10 is required for one Closure yet another requirement. This exists in a pressure that is axially on the membrane towards the switchable output 10 must be given. This pressure is again with an injection pump 5 in operation with associated booster pump 4 through the in the return line 6 given refluxing fuel. Because by the booster pump 4 is the pressure of the backflow Fuel higher than that through the supply line 3 fuel flowing into the filter 8.
- a such a ventilation function also has the valve 7 always with a curvature of the membrane 13 according to FIGS. 3 and 4, that is at temperatures described in the Example are above 5 ° C. This follows due to the axially playful mounting of the membrane 13, through which the membrane 13 can only close if it is appropriate is pressurized. Is on the membrane 13 filling the filter 8 as shown in FIG. 4 only atmospheric pressure at that facing away from the filter 8 Side of the membrane 13, the membrane has none Sealing function. This allows a ventilation air flow 15 flow out through the valve 7 in the direction of the tank 1.
- Fuel supply device with fuel can thereby take place that first of the pumps of the supply facility the tank feed pump alone was put into operation becomes.
- Such operation can be with an internal combustion engine can be achieved in a motor vehicle in that the engine ready for ignition with engine ignition still switched off is switched.
- the diaphragm 13 is in a starting position corresponding to the shape shown in Fig. 4, a closed position this membrane as shown in Fig. 3 result.
- the output 10 should be in the operating position of the filter 8 if possible be provided vertically on the top of the filter housing.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a 3/2-way valve for a fuel supply device of an injection internal combustion engine according to the preamble of claim 1.
The invention addresses the problem for a Fuel filter in a generic fuel supply device an inexpensive to manufacture and safe to create functioning venting device by the filter not yet filled with fuel during insertion of the fuel is automatically vented. A such automatic venting is particularly the case with First start-up of an engine desired. The same also applies when changing the filter.
This problem is solved by the use and design of a 3/2-way valve according to the characteristic Features of claim 1.
A practical embodiment of such a valve is the subject of claim 2.
The invention is based on the idea of a 3/2-way valve to use for ventilation, which in a generic Fuel supply device itself already exists can be (DE 4435625 A1), and this only accordingly to modify. This modification exists according to the invention in not only closing the switchable output - as usual - temperature - but also can still be controlled depending on pressure. The pressure dependency cause in cases where in the raw space of the filter there is a higher pressure than upstream of the directional valve in the return line, no closure of the switchable Output is possible. A aforementioned pressure ratio is always given when the return line is not yet included fuel returning from the injection pump is. Since such a condition when filling the Filters in new condition of the facility or after a filter change is given, the directional control valve can in this operating state perform the desired venting function.
A temperature controlled by a switchable valve Fuel return through the filter is state of the art practiced to return from the injection pump warm fuel for direct heating of the fuel flow to use in the filter.
The known directional control valve is therefore designed so that it The fuel return temperature is exceeded by a specified value or value range for a suppression a fuel backflow through the filter.
The well-known temperature-dependent switching of the directional valve takes place with respect to the closing and opening of the switchable Output not at a precisely specified temperature value, but rather at the limits of a hysteresis Switching temperature range. At the upper limit of the switching temperature range takes the valve closure member its closed position while it is only when reached the lower limit of the temperature range in its open position goes back. The switching hysteresis can be, for example Take up to 30 ° C.
The invention consists in closing the closure member of the valve not only temperature but also beyond can also be made pressure-dependent. Because of that it is - as in detail in the description of an embodiment will be explained in more detail - possible, so far already used exclusively as preheating directional control valves 3/2-way valves by only a minor constructive modification at the same time as a vent valve to use and the latter as a separate Saving valve.
By integrating the directional valve according to the invention in the filter housing of the filter is a particularly efficient one Manufacturability given.
Embodiments of the invention are in schematic Shape shown in the drawing.

The flow diagram in Fig. 1 shows the function and structure a fuel supply device in which an inventive 3/2-way valve is used.
From a tank 1 with the help of a tank feed pump 2

Kraftstoffrücklauf zu erwärmen.A
Has the return fuel in the
In the inventive design of the directional valve should

How the 3/2-way valve is constructed and works in detail, to work as a temperature-dependent flow divider at the same time and to be able to serve as a vent valve explained below with reference to Figures 2 to 4.
Refluxing fuel emerges from the
The closure member of the
The
With a direction of curvature of the
That ventilation of the
Filling the
As soon as the injection pump works, that means the engine is in
