Fig. 1 zeigt eine Einrichtung 1 zum Sammeln von Druckprodukten 2, 3 unterschiedlicher Art, zu Druckerzeugnissen resp. Teilerzeugnissen. Die Druckprodukte 2 werden beispielsweise entlang von Zuführlinien 4 von einer Druckmaschine oder von Lagereinrichtungen mittels Transporteur 5 einer oder mehreren Verarbeitungsstellen oder Stationen (nicht ersichtlich) zugeführt, wobei der Transporteur 5 als endlos umlaufendes Zugorgan ausgebildet ist, an dem Klammervorrichtung 6 in Abständen hintereinander angeordnet sind.
Der dargestellte Förderabschnitt des Transporteurs 5 weist vor einer Verarbeitungsstelle (nicht ersichtlich) eine Sammelstelle 7 auf, wo jeweils jede Klammervorrichtung 6 des Transporteurs 5 mit einem anderen resp. weiteren Druckprodukt 3 beschickt werden kann. Beide Druckprodukte 2, 3 werden an der Sammelstelle 7 zusammengeführt und gemeinsam in der Klammervorrichtung 6 des Transporteurs 5 zur nächsten Verarbeitungsstelle weitergefördert.
Vor der Uebergabe des Druckproduktes 3 an die Klammmervorrichtung 6 wird Druckprodukt 2 an der Sammelstelle 7 von einem Zwischenförderer 8 erfasst und unmittelbar anschliessend von der Klammervorrichtung 6 befreit, die sich zu diesem Zweck öffnet. An dem Zwischenförderer 8 begleitet das Druckprodukt 2 die offene Klammervorrichtung 6 und es wird der Klammervorrichtung das weitere Druckprodukt 3 durch einen Förderer 9 zugeführt.
Der Förderer 9 besteht aus an einem endlosen Zugmittel 10 befestigten, umlaufenden Mitnehmern 11, die in eine Transportlage steuerbar und beschickbar sind. Der Förderer 9 bildet mit einer (teilweise) veranschaulichten Fördervorrichtung 12 einen Uebernahmebereich 13, in dem die Druckprodukte 3 an die Mitnehmer 11 des Förderers 9 abgegeben werden. Dies erfordert zum Zeitpunkt der Uebernahme des Druckproduktes 3 ein zumindest annähernd synchrones Zusammenwirken von Förderer 9 und Fördervorrichtung.
Dazu sind im vorliegenden Fall die den Uebernahmebereich bestimmenden Förderabschnitte von Förderer 9 und Fördervorrichtung 12 etwa parallel zueinander angeordnet, sodass ein gleichsinniges, geschwindigkeitsgleiches Bewegen entstehen kann, bei welchem die Druckprodukte 3 von den Mitnehmern 11 übernommen werden.

The conveyor 9 consists of an endless traction means 10, rotating drivers 11, which are controllable and can be fed into a transport position. The conveyor 9 forms with a (partially) illustrated conveyor device 12 a takeover area 13 in which the printed products 3 are delivered to the drivers 11 of the conveyor 9. For this purpose, in the present case, the conveyor sections of the conveyor 9 and conveyor device 12 determining the takeover area are arranged approximately parallel to one another, so that movement in the same direction, at the same speed, can occur, in which the printed products 3 are taken over by the drivers 11.

Wie dargestellt, überstehen die Druckprodukte 3 die Mitnehmer 11 des Förderers 9 zur Klammervorrichtung 6 hin, sodass sie von letzterer strörungsfrei abgenommen werden können.

Zu diesem Zweck gleitet das Druckprodukt 2 mit dem frei beweglichen Ende über eine Führungsvorrichtung 14, um damit einen grösseren Zuführbereich für Druckprodukt 3 zu schaffen, bevor dieses mit dem vorderen Ende in die geöffnete Klammervorrichtung 6 eintaucht.
Gemeinsam erfasst die Klammervorrichtung 6 die Druckprodukte 2, 3 und der Zwischenförderer 8 löst sich von Druckprodukt 2.

Dadurch würde die erste, das Druckprodukt 2 transportierende (hintere) Klammer 19 während der Uebernahme des Druckproduktes 3 durch die geöffnete zweite Klammer 20 der Klammervorrichtung 6 nicht öffnen.
Das Schliessen der zweiten Klammer 20 erfolgt sobald das Druckprodukt 3 seine Klemmposition erreicht hat. Gemeinsam werden beide Druckprodukte 2, 3 durch Transporteur 5 zur Verarbeitungsstelle gefördert. Die Betätigung der Klammern 19, 20 resp. der beweglichen Klammerteile 17, 18 erfolgt mittels Steuerkurven, die auf die Steuerhebel 21, 22 der entsprechenden Klammerteile 17, 18 einwirken.

Der Förderer 9 ist aus einer Trommel 24 gebildet, die am Umfang verteilt Greifer 25 aufweist, die die Druckprodukte 3 an den Seitenkanten erfassen, nachdem sie von einer Fördervorrichtung 12 (Transporteur) zugeführt worden sind. Die Greifer 25 bilden im Näherungsbereich der Umlaufbahn der Fördervorrichtung 12 eine Uebergabestelle an der die Greifer 25 etwa gleichsinnig wie die Fördervorrichtung 12 verlaufen.
Dabei weist die Fördervorrichtung 12 an der Uebergabestelle 26 einen zur Trommel 24 hin gerichteten konvex gekrümmten Förderabschnitt auf, auf dem die durch die Fördervorrichtung 12 transportierten, falzseitig eingespannten Druckprodukte 3 durch eine Hebevorrichtung 27 unterlaufen sowie aus der freien Hängelage angehoben und durch die Greifer 25 seitlich erfasst werden.
Hierzu sieht die Hebevorrichtung mehrere um eine zur Drehachse der Trommel 24 parallele Achse 28 umlaufende, die Druckprodukte 3 vorübergehend aufnehmende, schwenkbar gesteuerte Stützelemente 29 vor, die auf ihrer Bewegungsbahn die Umlaufbahn der Greifer 25 der Trommel 24 schneiden.
Die Bewegungsbahn der Stützelemente 29 ist kreisförmig ausgebildet und die Stützelemente 29 besiten jeweils Hebel 30, die an einer Schwenkachse 31 liegend mit den Stützelementen 29 verbunden und von einer Steuerkurve 32 verstellbar sind.

Claims (20)

  1. Method of gathering printed products to form assembled printed products, such as newspapers, magazines, brochures and/or books, the said printed products being fed along a feed line (4) having a gathering point (7) to at least one processing point, at least one further printed product intended for an assembled printed product being fed to the printed products at the gathering point (7) and being conveyed further flat against the latter, characterised in that a printed product conveyed along the feed line suspended from a clamping device is temporarily released from the open clamping device (6) at the gathering point, the printed product being held temporarily by an intermediate conveyor by means of controllable tongs (15) and travelling parallel to the clamping device (6), and, once another printed product has been fed to the clamping device (6), both printed products are gripped together by this clamping device (6).
  2. Device for carrying out the method according to claim 1, consisting of an endless conveyor (5) feeding printed products (2) in clamping devices (6) along a feed line (4) having a gathering point (7) for further printed products (3) to at least one processing point, characterised in that the gathering point is formed by an intermediate conveyor which forms a parallel section to the feed line and interacts with the clamping device, and a circulating conveyor (9) opening into the circular path of the clamping devices (6) at the feed line (4) and feeding another printed product (3) to the open clamping device (6) synchronously with the conveyor (5) is arranged below the conveyor (5) and, together with the intermediate conveyor (8) situated opposite the feed line (4), formed by tongs (15) which can be controlled by control means and driven approximately in the same direction as the conveyor (5) in the area where the conveyors converge, forms the gathering point (7) for two printed products (2, 3) to be assembled.
  3. Device according to claim 2, characterised in that the conveyor (9) has controllable pushers (11) which are fixed at intervals to a traction member and communicate with the open clamping devices (6) at the gathering point (7).
  4. Device according to claim 3, characterised in that the distance of the conveyor (9) from or its position relative to the conveyor (5) is adjustable.
  5. Device according to one of claims 2 to 4, characterised in that a guide device (14) moving the printed products (2) along the conveyor (5) into a dragging position is associated with the gathering point (7).
  6. Device according to one of claims 2 to 5, characterised in that the pushers (11) of the conveyor (9) are designed for feeding by a conveying device (12) or feeder.
  7. Device according to claim 6, characterised in that, after being gripped by the conveyor (9), the printed products (3) project beyond the pusher (11) by means of the end directed towards the associated clamping device (6).
  8. Device according to claim 7, characterised in that the printed products (3) are inclined in the conveying direction in the pushers (11).
  9. Device according to claim 2, characterised in that the intermediate conveyor (8) is in the form of a rotor driven about a horizontal axis perpendicular to the conveying direction of the conveyor (5).
  10. Device according to claim 9, characterised in that the controllable tongs (15) fixed to the circumference of the rotor are driven synchronously with the clamping devices (6) of the conveyor (5).
  11. Device according to one of claims 2 to 10, characterised in that the clamping devices (6) each have a third controllable clamping part (18) forming a second clamp (20) together with one clamping part (16, 17) of a first clamp (19).
  12. Device according to claim 11, characterised in that the clamping device (6) has a fixed clamping part (16) and two controllable, movable clamping parts (17, 18).
  13. Device according to claim 12, characterised in that the movable clamping parts (17, 18) are arranged to act on either side of the fixed clamping part (16) or to cooperate on one side of the fixed clamping part (16).
  14. Device according to one of claims 2 to 13, arranged upstream of a processing point of an inserting machine.
  15. Device according to claim 14, characterised in that the conveyor (9) may be advanced to a conveyor (5).
  16. Device according to one of claims 2 to 15, characterised in that the intermediate conveyor (8) has controllable tongs (15) fixed to at least one traction member (23) circulating around two axes (21, 22).
  17. Device according to one of claims 3 to 16, characterised in that the pushers (11) of the conveyor (9) are in the form of controllable grippers (25) fixed to a drum (24).
  18. Device according to claim 17, characterised in that the grippers (25) of the conveyor (9) circulating in approximately the same direction in the vicinity of the circular path of a conveying device (12) conveying the further printed products (3) form a transfer point (26).
  19. Device according to claim 18, characterised in that the circular path of the conveying device (12) has a conveying section curved convexly towards the conveyor (9) at the transfer point (26), at which a lifting device (27) passes under the printed products clamped (3) at the folded side and conveyed by the conveying device (12), the printed products being lifted out of the freely suspended position and gripped by the grippers (25) at the side edges.
  20. Device according to claim 19, characterised in that the lifting device (27) has pivotable supporting elements (29) taking up the printed products (3) and circulating around an axis (28) arranged parallel to the drum axis, their path of motion intersecting the circular path of the grippers (25) on the drum (24).
