Abstract

The invention relates to a knife intended to peel pineapples by removing simultaneously the bark and the knots without any risk of cutting oneself. The knife is comprised of a blade (1) forming an angle (4) which is adapted to the knots or eyes of the pineapple, and of two protections (5 and 6) which are parallel to said blade, and of which the curvature in the form of an arc of a circle corresponds to the curvatures of the scales of the fruit so as to provide for the convenient evacuation of the waste material and for the safety of use.

Description

The present invention relates to a knife for peeling pineapples so as to remove the bark and the eyes in an economical and decorative manner in complete safety.
The peeling of the pineapple is traditionally carried out using a knife. This means is tedious because it requires going back to the peeled parts to remove all the eyes. The risk of injury remains, the peel of the pineapple being particularly hard.
There is also a cylinder system for removing the skin from the pineapple, but the fruit then takes the form of said cylinder, and the waste is relatively large.
The pineapple peeling knife presented in the invention overcomes these drawbacks. It has two characteristics: -1. A blade stamped so as to form an angle which adapts perfectly to the shape of the eyes of the fruit during peeling. This blade is sharpened on both sides, to be used by everyone (right or left handed).
Parallel to this blade, and on each side thereof, two protections in an arc, this rounded shape being studied to prevent the peeling from obstructing the instrument. According to particular embodiments:
The pineapple peeling knife can be designed so that its size adapts to a particular size of the fruit.
- Le couteau peut être exécuté de façon a être adapté sur un manche amovible, permettant l'échange de lame suivant le calibre.- The cutting angle intended to remove the eyes from the pineapple may be more or less acute, the apex of this angle possibly being rounded. - The knife can be executed so as to be adapted on a removable handle, allowing the blade to be exchanged depending on the size.
Les dessins annexés illustrent l'invention:The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention:
- La figure 1 représente le couteau en vue 3/4 face.- Figure 1 shows the knife in 3/4 face view.
- La figure 3 représente une variante, en vue de profil.- Figure 2 shows the knife in profile view. - Figure 3 shows a variant, in profile view.
- La figure 4 illustre l'utilisation de ce couteau (épluchage).- Figure 4 illustrates the use of this knife (peeling).
With reference to these drawings, the knife comprises a blade (1) sharpened on both sides (2 and 3) whose angle (4) adapts to the shape of the eyes of the fruit, two protections in an arc of a circle (5 and 6) and a handle (7), removable or not. The peeling of the pineapple (8) is done by simultaneously removing the scales from the bark (9) and the eyes (10).
Selon la figure 4, l'épluchage se fait de haut en bas, en une spirale qui suit l'alignement des écailles, l'ananas étant maintenu en position inclinée, la couronne de feuilles vers le bas et le fond étant préalablement coupéAccording to FIG. 4, the peeling is done from top to bottom, in a spiral which follows the alignment of the scales, the pineapple being maintained in an inclined position, the crown of leaves downwards and the bottom being previously cut.
An optimal result of safety and hygiene is obtained if the skin is not cut at the end of the stroke and is kept in the notch produced by the cutting, which allows not to touch the peeled fruit and to keep the grip maximum support of the fruit thanks to the roughness of the skin.
... According to a variant, blades corresponding to the number of flaked spirals of the pineapple may be mounted on a circular support, the pineapple being fixed on an axis, and the peeling being done in a single operation, by means of a crank, the movement of the blades being guided by flexible and spiral rods, trapping the fruit.
According to a variant, blades corresponding to the number of flaked spirals of the pineapple can be mounted on a circular support, the pineapple being fixed on an axis, and the peeling being done in a single operation, by means of an electric motor, the movement of the blades being guided by flexible and spiral rods trapping the fruit.
