Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to equipment for the transfer of sick or injured lying down and relates more particularly to stretchers.
Known type stretchers, see for example GB-A-1 472 272 used in particular for emergency response in the field or urban environment, which consists of taking care of a sick or injured, then transfer him from the scene of the disaster to the care unit, generally consist of stretchers flexible or rigid, sometimes articulated in two half-shells.
The use of these different stretchers for relieving the wounded or sick in order to ensure his transport, leads to lift the patient, then to put him down on the stretcher and therefore to make him undergo manipulations which can sometimes worsen an injury or to cause pain reactions. In addition, these operations often involve great efforts on the part nursing staff or first aiders.
The present invention aims to remedy the disadvantages of known stretchers by creating a stretcher which, while being of a very simple and little construction costly, allows for transfer or transport a sick or injured person, with the least possible effort and practically without handling it.
Its object is therefore a stretcher for the transfer and / or transportation of patients, patients or wounded, consisting of a canvas, characterized in that the canvas has means distributed over its length of removable support, slats provided at their ends gripping means.
According to a particular characteristic of the invention, the removable slat holding means have transverse sheaths, the slats being inserted in a removable and combinable manner into said sheaths.
According to another particular characteristic of the invention, the canvas of the stretcher is formed of a first layer of waterproof plastic and resistant intended to be in contact with the ground and of a second layer of nonwoven fabric, having properties absorbent and comfortable, intended to be in contact with the patient even undressed, the first and the second layers being fixed to each other by gluing or welding. The sleeves for the slats are made of fixing on the canvas sections of wide canvas corresponding to the appropriate locations.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the removable slat holding means are consisting of hook-and-loop fasteners attached to the at least one side of the fabric and cooperating with elements Additional hook-and-loop fasteners attached to the slats.
According to another characteristic of the invention, a layer of comfort-enhancing foam can be interposed between the first and second layers forming the canvas of the stretcher.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the slats are made of plastic or metal.
According to an additional characteristic of the invention, the gripping means are constituted by rounded lights for one hand provided for both ends of each slat.
According to yet another characteristic, the gripping means are constituted by handles in canvas tape attached at both ends of each slat and designed so that they can, if if necessary, receive stems.

The stretcher shown in Fig. 1 has a fabric 1 formed of two superimposed layers 2 and 3.
The first layer 2 is made of a material waterproof and robust plastic and forms the layer lower support.
The plastic used is advantageously polyethylene.
On the first layer 2 is fixed, for example by bonding or welding, a second layer 3 of a fabric non woven having absorbent and comfortable properties, intended to be in contact with the patient and can be pleasantly supported by a naked patient.
When layers 2 and 3 are assembled by
welding, at the ends of the fabric, layers 2 and 3
are joined by
Alternatively, a layer of foam (not shown) can be inserted between layers 2 and 3 to improve the comfort of the stretcher.
In the canvas thus formed are provided
The

According to a variant, the gripping member can consist of a handle made of canvas tape fixed to each end of the slat, and which can allow the use of poles.
This variant is shown in Fig. 2A which
shows a batten at the ends of which are drilled
In the embodiment described with reference
in Fig. 1, the stretcher has seven receiving
The four slats on the stretcher in Fig. 1 are
housed in
However, if one wishes to support parties different bodies, you can change the layout of slats.
We thus see in Fig. 1A, another arrangement

For this purpose, two
Using four slats allows four people each taking the ends of one side of two neighboring slats, to transport the stretcher with a maximum comfort and safety and minimal effort.
In Figs. 3 to 7, there is shown schematically patient transfer operations using the stretcher according to the invention.
lit.In Fig. 3, we see schematically a patient
laid on a 10 bed and to be transferred with a
minimum handling on a
Cette opération est représentée à la Fig.4.To transfer the patient from
toile 1 de la civière soutenue par le chariot 11.In Fig. 5, we see the patient lying on the
canvas 1 of the stretcher supported by the

comme représenté à la Fig.6.We then remove the

At the end of this operation, shown in
Fig. 7, the patient is lying on the stretcher with the
18 complémentaires aux éléments 16.The stretcher shown in Fig. 8 differs from
that described above in that it includes a
In Fig. 8, the canvas has been represented by
so that its face carrying the Velcro
We understand, however, that the canvas is normally used, its Velcro straps being turned down.
With such an arrangement, to ensure the transfer
of a patient lying on the
In the example which has just been described, the canvas
carries on one of its faces two hook-and-
It can also wear only one ribbon which then cooperates with hook-and-loop elements complementary located on one side of the slats.
The hook-and-loop elements of the fabric and slats can also be made in the form of zones discontinuous.
The canvas may optionally include hook-and-loop fasteners on both sides.
Returning to the embodiment described, in
reference to Figs. 1 to 4, the
The principle of use described above applies without restriction to other situations known as by example the relief of an injured person on the ground and his transfer to a rigid stretcher or vacuum mattress, to be evacuated, or to receive an injured person from an ambulance to the operating room, or transfer from an operating room operator to a bed or another means of evacuation.
In the embodiment which has just been described, the canvas of the stretcher is made of a material particularly cheap and therefore disposable after use.
We can also consider the realization of cloths of stretchers according to the invention in washable materials and can be sterilized in an oven, which allows its use in a sterile block.
The stretcher according to the invention has the advantage to be extremely compact as far as where it can be rolled up and occupy only one width corresponding to the width of the slats it behaves. Optionally, the canvas of the stretcher can be folded alone in an even smaller dimension.
The stretcher slats are in themselves means lifting and transporting a sick or injured person over a short distance and this with a minimum of manipulation.
For this purpose, their width is designed according to the extent of the body regions they generally have to support, such as head, shoulders, pelvis and the feet.
Therefore, by the time a patient is raised, using only the slats, these slats have a additional support function for body parts below which they have been slid.
