Abstract

The two pieces (1a, 1b) of the slit circle carrying the glass (9) of spectacles are assembled and tightened by means of a screw (2) which is screwed into the piece (1a). Said screw (2) carries a coil spring (5) housed in a cavity (3) of the piece (1b) and which bears, on the one hand, to the bottom (1d) of said cavity (3) and, on the other hand to the head (2b) of the screw. The screw is locked to the piece (1a) by means of a circlip (8) engaged into an annular groove (7) made in the screw (2) at the vicinity of its end. The thickness of the circlip (8) depends on the longitudinal position of the screw (2) with respect to the piece (1a) of the glass-carrier circle once the desired tension of the spring (5) has been reached.

Description

The subject of the present invention is a device for assembling and tightening the two strands of a split, split, glasses holder for glasses.
The assembly and tightening of the split glasses holder circles poses various problems, whether during the mounting of the glass or whether it is later, for the use of glasses.
Indeed, the assembly and clamping device should preferably, to allow easy mounting of the glass, be arranged so as to ensure the assembly of the two strands of the glass holder circle not tight, allowing easy engagement of the glass in the circle. The optician can then, once the glass is housed in the circle, hold the latter and the glass with one hand and tighten with the other. When tightening, there is a risk that too much pressure will be exerted on the glass which can then become eroded or even split. It is therefore desirable that the clamping device is shaped so as to prevent the glass from being subjected to an exaggerated tension.
Such tension can also occur later, during large variations in temperature for example, which create, especially when the glass holder circle is metallic, harmful effects of expansion or contraction.
The object of the present invention is to provide a device for assembling and tightening the strands of a spectacle lens holder circle which meets all of these requirements.
This object is achieved by the means defined in claim 1.
The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention and a variant.
1.Fig. 1 is an elevational view of part of glasses. Fig. 2 is an axial section of a first embodiment of the device for assembling and tightening the two strands of the glasses holder circles of the glasses shown in FIG. 1.
2, d'une variante de ce dispositif d'assemblage, etFig. 3 is an axial section, similar to that of FIG. 2, of a variant of this assembly device, and
Fig. 4 is a perspective view of a detail of this variant.
The face part of the glasses shown in fig. 1, generally designated by 1, comprises two split cup circles, the two strands of which are designated by la_ and lb, respectively. These two glasses circles are joined by a nasal bridge le.
The assembly and tightening of the two strands 1a and 1b of each of the glass holder circles are ensured by a screw 2, of which only the front part, designated by 2 &, is threaded, which is screwed into the strand la_ of the circle.
Enfin, la partie filetéeThe strand lb of the circle has a circular clearance 3, the bottom of which, designated by ld_, is pierced with a hole 4 traversed by the rod of the screw 2. The non-threaded part of the latter carries a coil spring 5 housed in the recess 3 which rests on the one hand on Here the bottom of it and on the other hand on the head of the screw, designated by 2b_. Finally, the threaded part
La largeur ou hauteur de cette gorge 7 est telle qu'une partie de celle-ci est située à l'intérieur du brin la du cercle porte-verre.2a ^ of the screw 2 extends beyond the strand la into which it is screwed, its projecting part having, flush with the external face 6 of the strand la, an annular groove 7 in which is engaged a pincer washer 8, known by the name circlip. The width or height of this groove 7 is such that a part of it is located inside the strand 1a of the glass holder circle.
Thanks to this arrangement, the optician wishing to mount a lens, such as lens 9, begins by engaging the screw 2, provided with the spring 5, in the strand 1b of the lens holder circle and then initiates the screwing of the screw. The two strands of the glass holder circle then remain slightly spaced from each other, the spring 5 not yet being compressed, which makes it possible to easily accommodate the glass 9 in the circle.
Holding the latter in one hand, the optician exerts a slight pressure on the two strands 1a and 1b and, with the other hand, screws the screw 2 using a screwdriver. He interrupts the operation when the resistance to screwing indicates to him that a suitable tension of the spring 5 is reached. The optician then chooses, in a set of circlips 8 of different thicknesses at his disposal, the one whose thickness corresponds to the width of the part of the annular groove 7 of the screw which projects beyond the face 6 of the strand 1a glass holder circle. It sets up, in the groove 7, the circlip 8 that it has chosen, this circlip thus ensuring the locking of the screw preventing it from loosening untimely.
It is necessary to be able to have circlips of different thicknesses because the final longitudinal position of the screw 2 relative to the strand 1a of the glass-holder circle varies according to various factors, such as the manufacturing tolerances of the frame of the glasses and glasses, the pressure that the optician wants to see applied to the glass, etc.
Thanks to this arrangement, the mounting of the glasses is extremely easy and can be carried out without risk of deterioration thereof. In addition, voltage variations due to temperature differences have no harmful effects on the see since absorbed by the spring 5. Experience shows that the latter plays a role of shock absorber protecting the lenses during a possible fall of the glasses.
The variant of figs. 3 and 4 differs from the first embodiment in that the return spring 5 is replaced by a cambered washer 10 housed in the recess 3 of the strand lb_ of the glass holder circle. This washer, engaged on the rod of the screw 2, is inter¬ posed between the head 2b of the screw and the bottom of this creu¬ sure 3. It has the advantage, compared to the coil spring of the first form d 'execution, of not only stressing axially the screw 2 to prevent it from turning on itself, creating friction on the threads of the screw taking in the strand 1a of the glass-holder circle, but of producing a connection direct, by friction, between the screw and the strand 1b thanks to the fact that, when it is slightly crushed by the head of the screw, it comes to pinch by its central hole the rod of the screw and force, by its periphery, on the side wall of the recess 3. This therefore results in a double friction effect preventing the screw from loosening untimely.
