Description

The present invention relates to hair clips, used to maintain the hair in a desired shape.

Hair bars have been used for a very long time. long time. By way of example, the document FR-A-592,049 describes such a hair clip, comprising first and second branches elongated with respective inner edges facing each other each other, respective outer edges and side faces respective broad. The first and second branches are articulated one to the other at their first ends along an axis of articulation authorizing their respective pivoting between a close position in which they are generally parallel to each other and a spread position. The first and second branches can be joined one to the other in a separable way according to their second end in close position in which they can tighten a lock of hair between their respective inner edges. In this document, the first and second elongated branches are generally flat, straight and smooth, with parallel side faces, and with axis of transverse articulation in the plane of the branches. The first and second branches have teeth, developing from the edge inside and interlocking with the teeth of said other branch, so that in the close position the teeth pass through said lock of hair.

In document FR-A-1 175 947, one of the branches comprises, on its inner face, teeth suitable for engaging the hair. The teeth are necessarily short, to allow the approximation of respective inner faces of each other in close position.

In document US-A-1,528,643, the first and second branches have respective large internal faces opposite from each other, respective outer faces, and side edges respective close. The branches are devoid of teeth.

With known barrettes, the tightening of the lock of hair seems satisfactory when it comes to plating the hair tangentially to the surface of the head.

But sometimes you have to use the bar to tighten a wick of hair by spreading it radially from the surface of the head. In this case, the bar must be relatively narrow, failing which the weight of the hair tends to slide the lock of hair into the bar, so that the tightening is insufficient.

The problem proposed by the present invention is to design a new bar structure ensuring better tightening of hair, thus allowing to take a larger mass of hair, by increasing their radial spacing from the surface of the head.

According to the invention, it is also sought to confer on the bar an auxiliary comb function, making it possible to style the hair during of the establishment.

To reach these and other objects, a bar for hair according to the invention comprises first and second branches elongated having respective inner faces, faces respective exterior and first and second side faces respective, the first and second branches being articulated one to the other at their first ends in a joint allowing their respective pivoting between a close position in which the branches are generally parallel to each other with their faces interior facing each other, and a position apart, with retaining means for selectively holding the second ends close to or in contact with each other in a position close to the branches in which they can clamp a lock of hair between their respective interior faces; each of the first and second branches have curved teeth, developing laterally to starting from the first side face and bending towards the other of the first and second branches overlapping with the curved teeth of said other branch, so that in the close position the curved teeth pass through said lock of hair.

According to an advantageous embodiment, the curved teeth are develop tangentially from the first side edge corresponding. They may have a longitudinal profile in an arc of circle, developing at an angle between 45 ° and 90 °, advantageously equal to approximately 60 °.

Preferably, the respective second side edges are taken away from each other, and may have a profile longitudinal in an arc.

In a first embodiment, the retaining means may include elastic return means which stress the first and second branches rotating towards each other around their articulation axis.

As an alternative or in addition, the retaining means can include means for securing to one another in a separable manner the second ends of the first and second branches.

In the embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 6, the hair clip according to the invention comprises a first branch 1 and a second branch 2, both elongated and having faces respective interior 3 and 4 facing each other, faces respective exterior 5 and 6, first side faces respective 7 and 8, and second respective side faces 9 and 10.

The first branch 1 and the second branch 2 are articulated to each other at their respective first ends 11 and 12 according to an articulation allowing their respective pivoting between a position close together illustrated in Figure 5 and a position apart such as illustrated for example in FIG. 6. It will be noted that, in FIG. 6, branches 1 and 2 are 90 ° from each other, their spacing being able however be chosen according to a different angular value, which can be for example 180 °, the articulation not opposing such pivoting. One can for example articulate the branches according to an articulation of the type hinge, axis I transverse, generally parallel to the faces interior 3 and 4, as illustrated in the figures.

In the close-up position illustrated in FIG. 5, the branches 1 and 2 are generally parallel to each other, their faces respective interior 3 and 4 being relatively close to each other to clamp a lock of hair between them.

At their second ends 13 and 14, the branches 1 and 2 are can be joined to each other in a separable manner in a close position. It is possible, for example, as shown in the figures, to provide ends 13 and 14 having hook legs 15 and 16 for engage one behind the other by elastic deformation.

The first branch 1 has curved teeth such as the tooth 17, developing laterally from of the first lateral face 7 and bending towards the second branch 2. Similarly, the second branch 2 has curved teeth such as tooth 18, developing laterally from the first lateral face 8 and bending towards the first branch 1. The curved teeth 17 of the first branch 1 overlap with the curved teeth 18 of the second branch 2 in close position. Thus, in the close position, the curved teeth 17 and 18 cross the lock of hair tightened by the barrette.

In the embodiments shown, as seen better in FIGS. 3 to 5, the curved teeth 17 of the first branch 1 are substantially parallel to each other and develop tangentially from the first corresponding lateral face 7. From even, the curved teeth 18 of the second branch 2 are substantially parallel to each other and develop tangentially from of the corresponding first side face 8. The curved teeth 17 and 18 have each an arcuate longitudinal profile in a respective plane which can be substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the branches 1 and 2. According to an advantageous alternative, the respective planes of the teeth of a series of 17 or 18 curved teeth may be slightly divergent, generally remaining parallel to the axis of articulation transverse I, which facilitates the crossing of the curved teeth 17 and 18 without contact or excessive friction, and this allows better penetration of the hair.

The arc of the curved teeth 17 and 18 develops in its plane respective at an angle A between approximately 45 ° and 90 °, which can advantageously be equal to approximately 60 °. Advantageously, the portions free ends 117 and 118 of the curved teeth 17 and 18 can be substantially coplanar. The expression "arc" can designate an arc of circle, an elliptical arc, or generally an arc of regular curve or not. The figures illustrate an embodiment with curved teeth in arc.

As seen in Figures 5 and 6, the central teeth such as tooth 19 can advantageously be longer than the extreme teeth such as tooth 20.

I.The spacing of the teeth, i.e. the spacing between the respective planes of two successive teeth such as teeth 19 and 21, is chosen so as to allow pivoting of branches 1 and 2 around of the transverse articulation axis I.

In the embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 6, the second respective lateral edges 9 and 10 are raised apart one of the other. For example, they are curved according to a transverse arc profile more visible in Figures 3 and 4.

In addition, the second side edges 9 and 10 can advantageously have a longitudinal profile in an arc of a circle 22 or 23, better visible in FIGS. 5 and 6.

In the embodiment of Figures 1 to 6 which has just been described, the hooked legs 15 and 16 make it possible to secure selectively to each other in a separable manner in a close position the ends 13 and 14 of the branches 1 and 2. Thus, the legs 15 and 16 constitute retaining means making it possible to selectively maintain the second ends 13 and 14 of the branches 1 and 2 in contact with one of the other when the branches are in close position.

This second embodiment incorporates most of the features of the first embodiment of the Figures 1 to 6. To avoid repeating the description, the characteristics corresponding to the second embodiment of FIGS. 7 to 12 are designated by the same reference numbers as the characteristics corresponding to the first embodiment of FIGS. 1 to 6.

We thus find, in the second embodiment of the Figures 7 to 12, the first branch 1, the second branch 2, the faces respective interior 3 and 4 facing each other, the faces respective exterior 5 and 6, respective first side faces 7 and 8, second respective lateral faces 9 and 10, a joint of axis I connecting the respective first ends 11 and 12 of the first and second branches 1 and 2, curved teeth 17 developing laterally from the first lateral face 7 of the first branch 1, and curved teeth 18 developing laterally from the first lateral face 8 of the second branch 2. The shapes of teeth 17 and 18 and their nestings are the same as in the embodiment previous.

In this second embodiment, the first and second branches 1 and 2 are rotated towards one another around their articulation I by elastic return means 26. The means of elastic return 26 may for example include a coil spring engaged around the transverse axis forming the hinge I, according to a structure commonly used in hair clips. Of elastic return means constitute, in this second mode of realization, retaining means making it possible to selectively maintain the second ends 13 and 14 of the branches 1 and 2 near or at contact with each other, in the close position of branches 1 and 2.

Preferably, in this embodiment, means male-female engagement may be disposed at the second ends 13 and 14 of branches 1 and 2. The male-female engagement means are adapted to engage with each other in a position close to the branches 1 and 2 and to oppose the relative transverse displacement of second ends 13 and 14 of branches 1 and 2. In this case, in position close together, the second ends 13 and 14 of the branches 1 and 2 are in contact with each other.

Also, in this embodiment with spring 26, it is possible advantageously provide that the first and second branches 1 and 2 are extended, beyond articulation I, by two gripping arms and operation 27 and 28. For example, the arms can be curved apart from each other as illustrated in the figures, and present a surface exterior suitable for the user to apply pressure sufficient to open the bar against the restoring force exerted by the spring 26.

This embodiment of Figures 7 to 12 has the advantage greater ease of handling, in particular avoiding having to check the correct engagement of the hooked legs such as the legs 15 and 16 of the previous embodiment.

It will be understood that the conformation of the curved teeth gives the bar of good comb properties, and especially gives it excellent hair-holding properties, allowing the realization of waterfall type hairstyles. In such a hairstyle, ends of the teeth bear against the surface 24 of the head illustrated in Figures 4 and 10, and the lock of hair spreads radially from the head surface 24 crossing the bar between the branches 1 and 2 which pinch it, as illustrated by the arrows 25. The presence of the curved teeth makes it possible to produce branches 1 and 2 of which the width is increased, without risk of slipping of the hair in the bar in close position.

The present invention is not limited to the embodiments which have been explicitly described, but it includes the various variants and generalizations contained in the field of claims below.
