Abstract

The drive and control system (10) is for a hydraulic actuator which may consist of a differential piston and cylinder unit (11). The system may contain an electrohydraulic proportioning valve (14) of known type connected to the lines (31,33) leading to the two chambers (13,12) of the piston and cylinder unit. There is a reversing valve (15) connected to the first chamber (12) of the piston and cylinder unit. It is connected (51) to the low-pressure hydraulic fluid reservoir (28). It has a connection to a magnetically operated valve (35) and a stop valve (34). A non-return valve (17) is connected across the electrohydraulic proportioning valve and to the drive pump (24).
