Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for producing reinforced coatings, in particular on concrete surfaces, with the following features:
At least one base layer of hardening material, in particular spray mortar or shotcrete, which is in a flowable or pasty state, is then applied to the surface to be treated, then at least one reinforcement mesh with mineral fibers, in particular glass fibers, and finally at least one top layer on the base layer provided with the reinforcement mesh , in turn made of curable material, in particular sprayed mortar or sprayed concrete, which is in a flowable or pasty state. A corresponding reinforcement network also belongs to the subject matter of the invention. Coatings with reinforcement of this type are widely used, among other things in the repair of buildings of various types, in particular cracked concrete surfaces in building and civil engineering, especially also in tunnel construction.
A coating method of the present type is known from JP, A, 63 275728 (Patent Abstracts of Japan, Vol. 14, No. 355 〈M-1004〉 〈4298〉). There is shown a coating with a reinforcement net or lattice, which consists of glass fibers bonded in casting resin and is connected to a concrete base layer by nailing or stapling. Apart from the punctiform connection achieved in this way, only a surface adhesion of the reinforcement network to the base layer and also to the subsequently applied top layer can arise. This has a comparative weak internal bond strength, especially shear strength, the overall coating. Because of this, and especially with regard to the necessary, reliable transmission of the shear stresses between the layers and the reinforcement caused by shrinkage when the layers solidify and by different thermal expansion, such structures have proven to be in need of improvement.
For the rest, from DE-C-40 26 943 a coating system is known in which, in addition to other layers, a fabric layer consisting of mineral fiber is laminated on a concrete or wall surface by means of synthetic resin. There, a continuous, areal bond of a porous, but not mesh or lattice-like, perforated fabric layer is produced. Both the synthetic resin layer and the fabric layer do not allow a section-wise direct connection between the concrete base or a concrete base layer on the one hand and a similar top layer on the other hand. So there is no mesh or grid-shaped reinforcement embedded in concrete, rather the bond strength is determined solely by the surface bonding. This means that comparatively high strength values can be achieved with correspondingly high-quality synthetic resins, but with a significantly higher outlay than reinforcement systems of the type in question. In this respect, there are fundamentally different systems.
In contrast, the object of the invention is to create a coating and reinforcement system according to the type of method mentioned at the outset, which rationally enables the production of an immediate material connection of high shear strength between the base and top layers as well as a secure form-fitting embedding of the reinforcement in the coating material, in addition also with material connection between concrete and reinforcement.
The solution to this problem according to the invention is determined in terms of the manufacturing process by the features of
In contrast to known reinforcements, it is first of all essential for the task solution according to the invention to design the network strands as open fiber bundles, the fiber interspaces and capillaries of which are therefore not filled or blocked by binders or adhesives. As a result, the flowable or pasty coating composition, i.e. normally concrete or mortar, penetrate into the spaces between the fibers and form a micro-toothing with the fiber structure after curing, i.e. a highly effective form fit. In addition, even with a reasonably suitable choice of material between the coating material and the fiber surface, there is considerable material adhesion, which can be further strengthened in a further development of the invention according to claim 5 by coating or impregnating the fibers, in particular with a polymer-based adhesion promoter. The composition of the adhesion promoter is expediently chosen in such a way that it simultaneously enhances the capillary action and thus supports the penetration of the coating material into the interstices of the fibers.
Also essential to the invention are sufficiently large gaps or passage areas in the reinforcement for the formation of a direct, integral connection between the base layer and the top layer. Experience has shown that a mesh size of at least 12 mm has been found to be necessary, but has generally also proven to be sufficient. Optimized or a comparatively small one Flowability of the coating material taking into account minimum values of the mesh size, in particular also in connection with preferred values for the maximum values thereof, are part of the subject matter of
Another embodiment of the invention is to use a reinforcement network, the fiber material of which is inactivated and thus protected against attack by aggressive, in particular alkaline components of the base layer or top layer, in particular Ca 3 Al 2 contained in cement. It is also possible to achieve such protection by means of an appropriate fiber coating. For reasons of durability and with a view to avoiding mutual impairment of an adhesion promoter and a corrosion protection coating, however, the first alternative is generally preferred according to the invention. The durability of such reinforcements is practically unlimited.

Solche Stahlnetzarmierungen haben den Nachteil hohen Gewichts und entsprechender Kosten, sie unterliegen ausserdem der Korrosionsgefahr.1 shows a known production method for a concrete layer with steel wire mesh as reinforcement. A
A relatively thin base layer 7 of e.g. 5 to 10 mm thick from sprayed concrete or sprayed mortar. In addition to a binding function with respect to the substrate, this base layer has above all a compensating function with regard to cracks, unevenness and the like. It is removed in the not yet set state and, if necessary, roughened to improve the binding.
A reinforcement net 8 of the type indicated in FIG. 3 is applied from the roll to the base layer created in this way, which consists in the form of a braid or fabric of glass fiber strands S running with a cross and with a symmetrical mesh size M here. This reinforcement fulfills the inventive features listed in the introduction and thus realizes the advantages set out. In a practically proven version, the mesh size was 35 x 35 mm. The strands S consist of unbound glass fibers and therefore form an open fiber bundle for the penetration of coating material. Due to the damping properties of open fiber bundles, there is practically no risk of vibration with the formation of splash shadows. As a result of the relatively large mesh size, the frequently occurring rebound and leakage of larger particles contained in the spray mortar or shotcrete, i.e. the associated increase in the cement content and the risk of embrittlement of the mortar or concrete with corresponding crack formation is significantly reduced.
According to a first variant of the method, the reinforcement network can be applied briefly after the base layer, which is still soft, is sprayed on and worked into its surface by means of rolling or pressure tools. If necessary, a separate attachment of the reinforcement network is then unnecessary. Otherwise and anyway Using another method variant with already more advanced setting of the base layer, the reinforcement network is fastened in the manner shown in FIG. 2 with holding
Reinforcement nets of the type according to the invention have high tensile strength, but are easy to cut, lay and fasten in a way that saves work. They are adaptable with regard to the background shape and can even be bent without damage at the edges and corners of the latter.
As indicated in FIG. 2, an
A plate bending test carried out by the LABORATOIRS ALPES ESSAIS in Grenoble, in which a shotcrete plate provided with the coating according to the invention and a glass fiber reinforcement network of 5% elongation at break was supported on all sides on a rigid frame and subjected to a pressure stamp in the center, resulted in a particularly high work capacity (time Integral of the bending force as a function of the deformation) and a correspondingly improved long-term durability of the coating (the elongation at break is the tensile deformation in% of an object, here a glass fiber reinforcement network, above which the tearing occurs; it can be selected through material selection and parameter setting when weaving or braiding the Network can be set specifically). Such advantageous properties are particularly important in tunnel construction.
The role of an armoring net according to the invention shown as an example in FIG. 3 illustrates its rollability and buckling ability, which also makes it suitable for complicated constructions. The reinforcement network is e.g. reinforced on both sides so that overlaps can be kept to a minimum. The net can easily be cut with a knife or scissors.
The microscopic representation of a correspondingly small cross-sectional area within the glass fibers F embedded in concrete B of a reinforcement strand in the form of an open fiber bundle in FIG. 4 clearly shows that the CS04 Cement glue with its particles P has penetrated into the spaces between the fibers and forms a virtually all-round embedding of the individual fibers. This penetration can be optimized according to the invention by suitably setting the spray pressure and other parameters when applying the concrete to the reinforcement. This results in the already mentioned, intensive microforming between the fiber bundle and concrete, as well as considerable adhesion or material connection between the fiber surface and concrete or solidified cement paste.
The spectroscopic analysis diagram in Fig. 5 shows the presence of a considerable aluminum component in the glass fiber examined, which was characterized by high resistance to alkalis.
