A chair for providing a straight sitting position of the user sitting with crossed legs, comprising a sitting surface widening towards the front, being raised on both sides and being adapted to the contour of the user's body resulting from the cross-legged sitting position, characterized in that a central elevation (4) forming an extension of the user's coccyx is provided in the rear area of the sitting surface (1), said sitting surface preferably being raised also in the front, the back rest surface (2) has a protrusion (5) located in the area of the fourth and fifth lumbar vertebrae of the user, and the sitting surface (1) preferably has indentations (6,6') in the area of both buttocks of the user.
  2. The chair according to claim 1, characterized in that the upper rim areas of the raised side parts (3,3') of the sitting surface (1) are shaped outwardly and are forming arm rest surfaces (7,7').
  3. The chair according to claim 2, characterized in that the height of the raised side parts (3,3') of the sitting surface (1) increases towards the back rest surface (2).
  4. The chair according to one of the claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the sitting surface (1) has an elevation in the region of the user's thighs.
  5. The chair according to one of the claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the sitting surface (1) with its raised side parts (3,3') and the back rest surface (2) flow into each other in a bowl-like manner.
