Abstract

A spatula tip (3) is attached to the front end (2) of the ski by means of interlocking recesses (5,6) and projections (7,8) located on the ski end and inside a slot (4) in the tip (3) respectively. The slot is rectangular and elongated in shape, with a slit (9,10) in each of its side walls, allowing the two lips (13,14) formed by the slot to open for the insertion of the ski tip. The two slits lie in the same plane and cover the entire length of the slot, and screws (15,16) can be inserted through the base of the ski tip to retain it. <IMAGE>

Description

The present invention relates to a tip ski spatula attached to its tip spatula, truncated in result.

It is now very common to find in the reported spatula ski trade. This provision has many advantages, including a significant advantage relating to security.

The first spatulas reported were by collage on the end of the ski. Such a solution lacks flexibility, because it does not allow to change the spatula if this change is necessary.

In particular, it is advantageous to be able to provide a "special slalom" ski or a symmetrical tip by in relation to the longitudinal axis of the ski for the practice of cross-country skiing hobby, that is to say a spatula called "deviator of stakes", which is an asymmetrical spatula with respect to the longitudinal axis of the ski and used for competition.

Such interchangeability is of course not possible if the attached spatula is glued, and many solutions have been proposed so far to report this spatula removably.

According to a first known embodiment, the spatula to be brought back is fitted on the truncated end of the ski, then it is screwed in this position by means of two screws which are screwed from the top of the spatula, and which cross both the tip and the stump before skiing on which it is plugged in. This solution is quite satisfactory, but it does not please the general public very much because of its obvious lack of aesthetics. In addition, the holes, made for these two screws, particularly at the reinforcements internal of the ski, weaken the structure because they are too close to the ends of the ski.

Another known solution consists in providing, inside the spatula tip and around the outside of the ski stump, complementary forms of clipping. Given the relatively flexible nature, or even rubber, with the spatula to bring back, we manage to do pass more or less rounded interior bosses of the spatula in complementary notches which are provided in consequence on the outside and on the two lateral faces of the ski stump.

This solution by axial clipping however lacks reliability, so that we often find on the slopes spatula tips that have been lost by skiers. He has been tried to add a pin to hold the spatula, but this solution, quite expensive, was quickly abandoned because insufficient.

The present invention aims to remedy these disadvantages of the solutions proposed so far to attach a spatula tip to the truncated end a ski.

It relates for this purpose to a ski with a tip of semi-rigid spatula removably attached to its front end truncated accordingly to receive this spatula tip, this truncated end, or stump, and this spatula tip being provided with complementary shapes suitable for authorize the attachment by clipping of this spatula tip on this truncated end, this spatula tip having as a result a flattened rear cavity capable of receiving this truncated end of the ski, so that said end piece spatula thus snap onto this end or stump, and this spatula tip further comprising, in order to promote its clipping while consolidating its fixation, both side slits respectively on either side of said cavity. Preferably, these two side slots are located in the same plane which is confused with the average plane of said cavity or parallel to it, and are thinner than this cavity. They locally cut the side walls of said cavity of this spatula tip and they are opening out towards the base of the nozzle, i.e. open backwards, so as to allow the spacing of the two lips of this cavity.

In any case, the invention will be well understood, and its various advantages and other characteristics will emerge more clearly from the following description of a nonlimiting exemplary embodiment, with reference to the appended schematic drawing in which:
  • Figure 1 is an exploded perspective view of the front end of the ski with the tip of the spatula ready to be inserted.

  • Figure 8 is a partial section along VIII-VIII of Figure 6.
  • Figure 9 shows another embodiment of a tip tip during assembly on the end of the ski.
  • Figure 10 is a section along XX of Figure 9.

The spatula tip 3 is made of a material relatively flexible, e.g. semi-rigid plastic such as thermoplastic polyurethane and it is designed to fit onto the stump 2 of the ski. His part rear is consequently hollow, and it forms a cavity 4 of combined volume and shape of the stump 2.

To ensure positive retention of the tip tip 3 on the receiver stump 2 of the ski, it is provided on these two elements complementary forms of restraint by snap-on. In this example of execution, it is provided on the stump 2 two semi-circular lateral notches 5 and 6, of on either side of this stump, and it is planned accordingly in the cavity 4 of the spatula tip 3 two bosses side 7 and 8, respectively complementary to the notches 5 and 6 of the stump 2.

Cette disposition en soi serait classique si, comme ce n'est pas le cas pour le dispositif de l'invention, les encoches 5,6 étaient relativement peu profondes, du moins assez peu pour permettre l'introduction à force du moignon 2 dans la cavité 4 de l'embout de spatule 3, de manière à réaliser un enclipsage s'exerçant sensiblement selon l'axe du moignon 2This provision in itself would be classic if, like this is not the case for the device of the invention, the notches 5.6 were relatively shallow, at least not very deep allow the forced insertion of the stump 2 into the cavity 4 the tip of the spatula 3, so as to snap acting substantially along the axis of the stump 2

In this case, the notches 5,6 are too deep to allow this simple axial introduction to force, and in accordance with the invention, it is provided, for authorize this insertion and snap-on of the spatula tip 3 on its receiving stump 2, two thin side slits 9 and 10 in the rear part of the spatula tip 3, in the median plane of the flattened cavity 4 which consequently becomes opening outwards to the left and to the right.

In the longitudinal direction, the two lateral slots 9 and 10 have the same length as the cavity 4, from which they cut out locally the side walls. They open out to the base of the nozzle 3, that is to say open at their end back. At their front end, they end in a small quasi-punctual widening, respectively 11 and 12, suitable for prevent the rest of the spatula tip from coming into contact split in the long run.

Finally, the insertion of the spatula tip 3 on the stump 2 is made possible, or at least greatly facilitated, by the fact that, thanks to the two lateral slots 9 and 10, the two upper 14 and lower 13 lips of the cavity 4 can then move away from each other by widening the internal volume of this cavity 4. The two non-return bosses 7 and 8 are then introduced, at the end of the race, by a movement substantially orthogonal to the plane of the stump 2, in their receiving notches 5 and 6, which ultimately ensures good the desired clip-on.

In principle, the tip of the spatula 3 cannot then be accidentally removed by longitudinal traction: for the remove, you must first separate the two lips 13 and 14 with for example the blade of a knife.

To further improve anti-tearing security without however penalizing the aesthetic, it is also planned to ensure an even more positive assembly thanks to two assembly screws 15 and 16 which pass through the lower lip 13 of the spatula tip by respective holes 17.18 of bosses 7 and 8, which are screwed into the upper lip 14 from below the tip of the spatula 3 without, however, crossing completely the body of this tip, which is made possible by the fact that this kind of added spatula tip is designed fairly thick at the back, as can be seen in Figures 6 and 8.

The purpose of these screws is to avoid, when they are in place, the accidental separation of the lips 13 and 14 which form the rear cavity 4 of the spatula tip 3.

It goes without saying that the invention is not limited to the embodiment which has just been described. In particular, other non-return forms than the one shown here can be adopted, taking into account that ultimately the clipping complementary shapes are done here in one direction orthogonal to the plane of the receiving stump 2, and not in the axis of this stump as is commonly the case. We could provide a single cap screw instead of two screws 15.16, or conversely a number of assembly screws greater than two. By way of illustration, a variant of embodiment is shown diagrammatically in FIGS. 9 and 10. In this case, the stump 2 is pierced with an orifice 19 centered on the axis longitudinal 20 of the ski. The complementary shape of the nozzle 3 is then constituted by a stud 21 which receives a screw consolidation 23.

Note that in the two realizations that come to be described, the two lateral slots 9.10 are coplanar and are located in a plane which is confused with the plane means 24 (Figure 6) of the cavity 4. As a variant, these two slots 9.10 could either be coplanar but located in a plane parallel to this mean plane 24, or even not to be coplanar.
