Abstract

The invention relates to a transfer film and a method for the transfer of cut graphics made of adhesive film. According to the invention, the transfer film has on both sides a differentiated surface structure made of spherical shell-like and web-like profile segments distributed over the entire surface, the profile segments of one film side having a thin adhesive layer. As a result of a program-controlled partial activation of the adhesive force of the coated profile segments of the transfer film by means of a mechanical pressure force of a plotter, direct access to the positive of the cut graphic of the adhesive film is achieved with the simultaneous omission without substitution of the conventional degridding, as is the direct, bubble-free transfer of the cut graphic by means of the transfer film to an external target surface. Apart from dispensing with an additional degridding film, the new transfer film and its application according to the method result in further advantages when transferring the graphic, in particular the possibility for the first time of applying the graphic dry without the addition of liquid.

Description

'FOLIE UND VERFAHREN ZUM ENTGITTERN UND ÜBERTRAGEN GESCHNITTENER GRAPHIK AUS KLEBEFOLIE" 'FILM AND METHOD FOR GRITING AND TRANSFERING CUT GRAPHICS FROM ADHESIVE FILM'
The invention relates to a weeding and transfer film for cut graphics from adhesive or self-adhesive film and to a method for weeding and transferring cut graphics from adhesive or self-adhesive film by means of such a new film.
The field of application of the invention encompasses the commercial marking and labeling of goods, technical devices and industrial goods and systems as well as the field of advertising through visible and external surfaces by means of letters, words, signs, symbols, figures and pictures from program-controlled graphics, preferably made of self-adhesive film.
Previously known foils are only transfer foils for adhesive foils and, without exception, have smooth, homogeneously formed adhesive or glue sides / surfaces and are often made of paper. As a result of this smooth and homogeneous surface structure, they are also suitable for exerting uniform adhesive and adhesive force over the entire area, as is customary in the case of conventional transfer films. However, they are completely unsuitable for exerting partially differentiated adhesive or adhesive forces in relation to partially determined areas of an adhesive film. These known transfer foils are therefore not suitable as a tool for mechanical weeding of kebefoiie.
Previously known methods for weeding adhesive film therefore operate manually, in that the negative mask assigned to a positive graphic of a cut self-adhesive film or the filling pattern of the letters, characters etc. selectively removed by hand and disposed of as unusable deformed after this process. This manual weeding of the cut positive graphics is extremely tedious and unproductive, especially within a range of approximately 10 cm character height.
To automate this weeding, a completely new tool is required, such as a weeding foil, and a completely new process, the uses this new tool as weeding and transfer film and enables the effective use of such a new tool. The object of the invention is therefore to provide a film for machine weeding and transferring cut graphics from adhesive film with a differentiated surface structure in such a way that partially determined areas are adherent and partially determined areas are adhesive. Another object of the invention is the process-side application of this film according to the invention by machine weeding and transferring cut graphics from adhesive film.
The solution to the problem according to the invention is that the weeding and transfer film is differentiated into mosaic or honeycomb-like adhesive surfaces, for example adhesive webs, and preferably spatially profiled, mosaic or honeycomb-like adhesive surfaces, for example spherical adhesive pockets. This pimpled, "goosebump-like" surface structure of the film preferably made of PVC is a very decisive feature of the weeding and transfer film according to the invention. The solution to the problem according to the invention further consists in that the adhesive surfaces and the adhesive surfaces of the weeding and transfer film corresponding to them are coated with an adhesive and / or adhesive, for example a dispersion adhesive, it being secondary whether the adhesive and / or adhesive before or after profiling the film.
Furthermore, the solution to the problem consists in the fact that the adhesive surfaces and the adhesive surfaces cover one side of the weeding and transfer film and the claimed surface portions of the adhesive surfaces amount to a multiple of the claimed surface portions of the adhesive surface.
Finally, a very important embodiment of the invention is that the mosaic and honeycomb adhesive surfaces are dimensioned and distributed on one side of the weeding and transfer film that the correspondingly arranged adhesive surfaces cover a practically gapless surface of the adhesive film.
Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren zum Entgittern und Übertragen geschnittener Graphik aus Klebe- oder Selbstklebefolie mittels einer erfindungsgemäßen Folie besteht darin, daßThis predetermined dimensioning of the size of the adhesive and adhesive areas, and also due to its predetermined fine distribution on the surface of the weeding and transfer film, enables a high quality of weeding to be achieved. The process according to the invention for weeding and transferring cut graphics from adhesive or self-adhesive film by means of a film according to the invention is that
-auf die aus Klebe- oder Selbstklebefolie geschnittene Positivgraphik und auf die umgebende Negativmaske eine Folie zum Entgittern und Übertragen mit differenzierter Haft- und Klebestruktur aufgebracht wird,a film for weeding and transferring with differentiated adhesive and adhesive structure is applied to the positive graphic cut from adhesive or self-adhesive film and to the surrounding negative mask,
-der lagefixierte Haftverbund aus Entgitterungs- und Ubertragungsfolie sowie Klebe oder Selbstklebefolie durch eine bevorzugt vertikale Andrückkraft auf die Folie, etw durch einen programmgesteuerten Plotterstift oder einen lasergesteuerten Nadeldrucker, der den Schnittpfad der Positivgraphik und die mit ihr korrespon¬ dierende Negativmaske erkennt, im Bereich der Positivgraphik partiell verklebt wird, -die Positivgraphik durch die Entgitterungs- und Ubertragungsfolie von einem unterlegten Silikonpapier abgezogen wird und die Negativmaske auf diesem unterlegten Silikonpapier formvollständig verbleibt.the positionally fixed adhesive bond consisting of weeding and transfer film as well as adhesive or self-adhesive film by means of a preferably vertical pressing force on the film, for example by a program-controlled plotter pen or a laser-controlled dot matrix printer which recognizes the cutting path of the positive graphics and the negative mask corresponding to it, in the area of The positive graphic is partially glued, - the positive graphic is peeled off from the underlying silicone paper through the weeding and transfer film and the negative mask remains completely in shape on this underlying silicone paper.
-die Positivgraphik durch die Entgitterungs- und Ubertragungsfolie auf eine beliebig Zielfläche verbracht wird.the positive graphic is brought through the weeding and transfer film to any target area.
By using a weeding and transfer film in the method according to the invention, it is possible in an outstanding manner to use the program-controlled cutting path of an adhesive graphic, which is necessary in any case when creating the graphic, again for weeding the adhesive graphic, in such a way that that the cutting program is repeated using the given fixation of adhesive film and weeding film and the use of a suitable plotter pen by "plotting" the "inner line with filling pattern", quasi negatively. It is clear how inseparable the differentiated surface structure of the weeding and transfer film and the inventive, program-controlled "plotting" of the adhesive surfaces of the weeding film work together and enable the inventive effect of machine weeding of adhesive graphics in a particularly productive manner.

The film for weeding and transferring 1 for the adhesive film 2 is designed to be adhesive and adhesive on one side and has a nub-shaped, goosebump-like surface structure. Spatially embossed, dome-like cavities, so-called adhesive pockets 5, are uniformly distributed over the entire adhesive and adhesive surface and are separated from one another only by preferably small, mosaic and honeycomb-shaped planar adhesive segments, so-called adhesive webs 4. The adhesive webs 4 and the adhesive pockets 5 are designed with radii 7, 8 with edgeless contours in order to enable a plotter pen 9, which scans the outside of this contour facing away from the adhesive film 2, to provide a smooth feed. The profile height 6 of the adhesive pockets 5 is uniform due to a uniform piotter stroke, but is appropriately adapted to the type of transfer film.
The adhesive webs 4 and the adhesive pockets 5 are coated with a dispersible adhesive and / or adhesive which provides both the easily releasable fixation and adhesion of the weeding and transfer film 1 on the adhesive film 2, and the partially adhesive connection of the weeding and transfer film 1 serves with the adhesive film 2 in the area of the positive graphic 11.
It does not affect the nature of the film 1 according to the invention at which technological station of the production of the film 1 the adhesive and / or adhesive is applied.
An essential feature of the film 1 is the fine arrangement of adhesive webs 4 and adhesive pockets 5, which corresponds to the entire surface, in order to achieve both minimal, easily detachable adhesion with the adhesive film 2 and, in particular, a fine, partially accurate and practically complete adhesive bond with the positive graphic 11 to be able to reach the adhesive film 2. For this purpose, the area portions of the adhesive webs 4 and the slide pockets 5 are selected so that the area portions of the adhesive pockets 5 exceed those of the adhesive webs 4 by a multiple.
In the process for weeding and transferring the adhesive film 2 by means of a film 1, a position is fixed on the in a laminating machine 14 of a cutting computer 13 adhesive composite of adhesive film 2 and weeding film 1 is fed to the cutting area 15 again. A program-controlled control head 10 guides a plotter pen 9 in such a way that the adhesive pockets 5 of the film 1 are partially bonded to the positive graphic 11. This is done by compressing the preferably spatially recessed adhesive pockets 5 of the transfer film 1 with a vertically loaded plotter pen 9 and activating their adhesive in the area of the positive graphic 11 with the exact shape, while the surrounding surface parts of the negative mask 12 remain unglued in the exact form. During the subsequent removal of the weeding and transfer film 1, the firmly bonded positive graphic 11 of the adhesive film 2 is lifted off the underlying silicone layer 3. The unglued negative mask 12 remains on the silicone layer 3. Both the positive graphic 11 for the final transfer from the weeding and transfer film 1 to a target area and the completely untouched negative mask 12 are thus available for any use. The previously manual weeding by brittle removal of the negative mask 12 from a positive graphic 11 has thus been eliminated extremely effectively and with perfect quality. Of particular importance for the invention is not only the described "reversal of the weeding", that is to say the mechanical detachment of the positive graphic 11 from a negative mask 12. Of particular importance is also the repeated application of the technical means which are in any case provided for the creation of the positive graphic, that is, the reuse of the cutting program of the positive graphic 11 with the corresponding command "plot inner line + fill pattern".
A particularly effective design of the method according to the invention can thus be implemented.
-5/1 -For the sake of completeness, it is also pointed out that the method according to the invention is not restricted to the use of a cutting computer shown with a plotter pen. Other tools, for example laser-controlled dot matrix printers, are also easily conceivable without interfering with the solution of the task according to the invention, provided that they exactly follow the cutting path of a positive graphic 11 and the negative mask 12 corresponding to it. -5/1 -
