Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method according to the preamble of claim 1. It also relates to an apparatus for performing the method.
- Oxygen-blown processes for example Shell coal gasification processes, are currently mainly used to gasify coal or residual oil. These processes produce a gas with a relatively high calorific value, 12-15 MJ / kg, which, due to its low mass flows, can be desulphurized without great loss of enthalpy and can be dedusted by washing equipment.
- the typical gasification reactions run CH4 + H2O ⁇ CO + 3H2 C + H2O ⁇ CO + H2 endothermic.
- the energy required is generated, for example, by an exothermic reaction 2C + O2 ⁇ 2CO made available.
- the invention seeks to remedy this.
- the invention is based on the object, in a method and a gasification tank of the type mentioned, to generate the energy required for the gasification of carbon-containing fuels by an air-blown gasification process without the gasification product being contaminated with atmospheric nitrogen .
- the method is carried out with the aid of a gasification container in which a swirl flow is generated from the combustion.
- a substoichiometric fuel / air mixture is burned in a swirl burner on the axis, the exothermic reaction (3b) essentially taking place.
- fuel is also gasified with strongly superheated steam at 700-1200 ° C in the outer radius area after endothermic reactions (1) and (2).
- the stable stratification in the cylindrical reaction chamber prevents the energy-supplying partial flow in the center, where a combustion temperature of approx. 1800 ° C prevails, with the fuel / steam mixture to be gasified in the outer radius area mixes.
- the heat transfer from the energy-supplying partial stream to the mixture to be gasified takes place by direct radiant heat exchange, by indirect radiant heat exchange with the participation of the combustion chamber wall and by convective heat transfer between the combustion chamber wall heated by radiation and the gasification mixture. Subsequent to the gasification reactor, the central partial flow, which up to now has already emitted a large part of its sensible heat to the fuel / steam mixture to be gasified, is completely burned out by adding secondary air.
- An advantage of the invention can be seen in the fact that the two-stage combustion control also makes it possible to use fuels with fuel-bound nitrogen without obtaining high nitrogen oxide values in the exhaust gas.
- Another advantage of the invention is that the method is suitable for all fuels, in particular for liquid fuels, such as heavy oils, residual oils, orimulsion, or also for coal in the form of coal water slurry (CWS) or in the form of coal dust.
- liquid fuels such as heavy oils, residual oils, orimulsion
- coal in the form of coal water slurry (CWS) or in the form of coal dust.
- CWS coal water slurry
- FIGS. 4-6 In order to better understand the structure of the burner 100, it is advantageous if the individual sections according to FIGS. 4-6 are used simultaneously with FIG. 3. Furthermore, in order not to make FIG. 3 unnecessarily confusing, the guide plates 121a, 121b shown schematically according to FIGS. 4-6 have only been hinted at in it. In the description of FIG. 3, reference is made below to the remaining FIGS. 4-6 as required.
- the burner 100 according to FIG. 3 is a premix burner and consists of two hollow, conical partial bodies 101, 102 which are nested one inside the other in a staggered manner.
- the offset of the respective central axis or longitudinal symmetry axes 201b, 202b of the conical partial bodies 101, 102 to one another creates a tangential air inlet slot 119, 120 on both sides, in a mirror-image arrangement (FIGS. 4-6), through which the combustion air 115 enters the interior of the Burner 100, ie flows into the cone cavity 114.
- the conical shape of the partial bodies 101, 102 shown in the flow direction has a specific fixed angle.
- the partial bodies 101, 102 can have an increasing or decreasing cone inclination in the flow direction, similar to a trumpet or Tulip.
- the last two forms are not included in the drawing, since they can be easily understood by a person skilled in the art.
- the two tapered partial bodies 101, 102 each have a cylindrical starting part 101a, 102a, which likewise, similarly to the tapered partial bodies 101, 102, are offset from one another, so that the tangential air inlet slots 119, 120 are present over the entire length of the burner 100.
- a nozzle 103 is accommodated, the injection 104 of which coincides approximately with the narrowest cross section of the conical cavity 114 formed by the conical partial bodies 101, 102.
- the injection capacity and the type of this nozzle 103 depend on the specified parameters of the respective burner 100.
- the burner can be designed purely conical, that is to say without cylindrical starting parts 101a, 102a.
- the conical sub-bodies 101, 102 further each have a fuel line 108, 109, which are arranged along the tangential inlet slots 119, 120 and are provided with injection openings 117, through which a gaseous fuel 113 is preferably injected into the combustion air 115 flowing through there, such as this is symbolized by arrows 116 want.
- These fuel lines 108, 109 are preferably placed at the latest at the end of the tangential inflow, before entering the cone cavity 114, in order to obtain an optimal air / fuel mixture.
- the outlet opening of the burner 100 merges into a front wall 110, in which a number of bores 110a are provided.
- the latter come into operation when necessary and ensure that dilution air or cooling air 110b is supplied to the front part of the combustion chamber 122.
- this air supply ensures flame stabilization at the outlet of the burner 100. This flame stabilization becomes important when it comes to supporting the compactness of the flame due to a radial flattening.
- the fuel brought in through the nozzle 103 is a liquid fuel 112, which can be enriched with a recirculated exhaust gas at most. This fuel 112 is injected into the cone cavity 114 at an acute angle.
- a conical fuel profile 105 is thus formed from the nozzle 103 and is enclosed by the rotating combustion air 115 flowing in tangentially.
- the concentration of the fuel 112 is continuously reduced to an optimal mixing by the incoming combustion air 115.
- the burner 100 is operated with a gaseous fuel 113, this is preferably introduced via opening nozzles 117, the formation of this fuel / air mixture taking place directly at the end of the air inlet slots 119, 120.
- the optimal, homogeneous fuel concentration across the cross section is achieved in the region of the vortex burst, that is to say in the region of the backflow zone 106 at the end of the burner 100.
- the ignition takes place at the tip of the backflow zone 106. Only at this point can a stable flame front 107 arise. A flashback of the flame into the interior of the burner 100, as is latently the case with known premixing sections, is remedied there, however, with complicated flame holders is not to be feared here. If the combustion air 115 is additionally preheated or enriched with a recirculated exhaust gas, this supports the evaporation of the liquid fuel 112 before the combustion zone is reached. The same considerations also apply if, instead of gaseous, liquid fuels are supplied via the lines 108, 109.
- FIG. 4-6 now shows the geometric configuration of the guide plates 121a, 121b. They have a flow introduction function, which, depending on their length, extend the respective end of the tapered partial bodies 101, 102 in the direction of flow relative to the combustion air 115.
- the channeling of the combustion air 115 into the cone cavity 114 can be optimized by opening or closing the guide plates 121a, 121b about a pivot point 123 located in the region of the entry of this channel into the cone cavity 114, This is particularly necessary if the original gap size of the tangential air inlet slots 119, 120 is changed.
- these dynamic arrangements can also be provided statically, in that guide baffles as required form a fixed component with the tapered partial bodies 101, 102. Burner 100 can also be operated without baffles, or other aids can be provided for this.
Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method according to the preamble of
Oxygen-blown processes, for example Shell coal gasification processes, are currently mainly used to gasify coal or residual oil. These processes produce a gas with a relatively high calorific value, 12-15 MJ / kg, which, due to its low mass flows, can be desulphurized without great loss of enthalpy and can be dedusted by washing equipment. The typical gasification reactions run
endothermic.
The energy required is generated, for example, by an exothermic reaction
made available.
About 22% of the calorific value of the fuel is first converted into heat by the exothermic reaction (3a) and then again into fuel enthalpy via the endothermic reactions (1) and (2).
In an air-blown gasification process according to the prior art, the exothermic reaction (3a) would become:
and the calorific value of the product gases is reduced to less than 50% compared to oxygen-blown gasification.
A major disadvantage of this process is the fact that the gasification product is contaminated with atmospheric nitrogen.
Hier will die Erfindung Abhilfe schaffen. The invention seeks to remedy this. The invention, as characterized in the claims, is based on the object, in a method and a gasification tank of the type mentioned, to generate the energy required for the gasification of carbon-containing fuels by an air-blown gasification process without the gasification product being contaminated with atmospheric nitrogen .
The method is carried out with the aid of a gasification container in which a swirl flow is generated from the combustion. In this case, a substoichiometric fuel / air mixture is burned in a swirl burner on the axis, the exothermic reaction (3b) essentially taking place. In counterflow, fuel is also gasified with strongly superheated steam at 700-1200 ° C in the outer radius area after endothermic reactions (1) and (2). The stable stratification in the cylindrical reaction chamber prevents the energy-supplying partial flow in the center, where a combustion temperature of approx. 1800 ° C prevails, with the fuel / steam mixture to be gasified in the outer radius area mixes. The heat transfer from the energy-supplying partial stream to the mixture to be gasified takes place by direct radiant heat exchange, by indirect radiant heat exchange with the participation of the combustion chamber wall and by convective heat transfer between the combustion chamber wall heated by radiation and the gasification mixture. Subsequent to the gasification reactor, the central partial flow, which up to now has already emitted a large part of its sensible heat to the fuel / steam mixture to be gasified, is completely burned out by adding secondary air.
An advantage of the invention can be seen in the fact that the two-stage combustion control also makes it possible to use fuels with fuel-bound nitrogen without obtaining high nitrogen oxide values in the exhaust gas.
Another advantage of the invention is that the method is suitable for all fuels, in particular for liquid fuels, such as heavy oils, residual oils, orimulsion, or also for coal in the form of coal water slurry (CWS) or in the form of coal dust.
Weitere Vorteile der Erfindung sind:

- Das Verfahren kann sowohl atmosphärisch als auch unter Druck betrieben werden;
- An air separation plant is no longer required;

- The result is a gasification product with a moderate calorific value ≈ 10 MJ / kg, which can be burned in a gas turbine with low emissions.
Advantageous and expedient developments of the task solution according to the invention are characterized in the further claims.

Wege zur Ausführung der Erfindung, gewerbliche VerwertbarkeitWays of carrying out the invention, commercial usability
- Radially stratified swirl flow with a hot core of lower density and a colder outer flow of high density.
- Staged combustion control to minimize NOx emissions.
- Radiant heat exchange between the substoichiometric hot core and the reaction chamber wall or direct radiant heat exchange between the hot core and the gasification mixture.

In order to better understand the structure of the
The
