Abstract

A ring binding (1) has a 6-sided or 8-sided cover (10, 30) with at least one first back sheet (12) and one second back sheet (13) whose free end (14) is suspended from the binding, as well as two pairs of parallel grooves (20, 21; 22, 23) whose mutual spacing is the same. Along one of both pairs of grooves is provided a cut-out (26) which tapers towards the closed side and gives access to a pocket (19). The first and the second back sheets (12, 13) are glued to each other in the area adjacent to the cut-out (26).

Description

The invention relates to a ring binding with a block between a 6 or 8-page cover, which has at least one front sheet, a first back sheet, a second back sheet, which is suspended with its free end, and pairs of back sheet groove lines, and a back between the front sheet and the first rear sheet, which is delimited by two parallel first back groove lines, a pocket provided with an insertion opening being formed between the first rear sheet and the second rear sheet.

Ring bindings, for example the so-called wire-o-binding (registered trademark of James Burn International Ltd., Esher, Surrey, Great Britain) or the plastic effect bindings which serve to staple loose sheets, are generally known. Rings are hung in holes that are punched out along a long side of the sheets to be stapled. They have a 6-sided or 8-sided cover, which is suspended with one free end in the rings of the ring binding. The cover pages are loosely folded along groove lines embossed on one side.

This type of binding is preferred for bound printed products that are used a lot and are often opened and closed and where, for example, an adhesive binding would not last long.

These printed matter include instructions in the hobby and leisure sector e.g. for sports, yoga, handicrafts, handicrafts and do-it-yourself work, Ikebana, etc. In these cases it is often found that floppy disks or demonstration cassettes are included for illustration, e.g. CDs, video cassettes or music cassettes. The problem with this is to connect them to the book without losing them.

Glued corners are known, in which small records are inserted. On the other hand, you know e.g. In the case of file covers, there are pockets which are created by turning the file cover over and gluing two of the three open sides. However, these all have the disadvantage that the objects can slip out easily, especially if they, e.g. Cassettes are relatively thick and bulge the envelope. This also reduces the stability of the envelope.

From DE-U-85 14 377 a binding or adhesive binding of the type mentioned is known, in which the pocket on the two-leaf front cover part is provided in such a way that it is arranged in the closed state of the binding in front of the end edge of the block. The bag is long and narrow and is used to hold a writing instrument. such as a pencil or the like. The pocket is open to the longitudinal end edge. The front cover part provided with the pocket is in this way extended in relation to the block and the back cover part, so that the size of the entire binding or adhesive binding is enlarged.

The object of the invention is to provide a ring binding of the type mentioned, in which the bag can accommodate large objects without the base or visible surface of the ring binding is enlarged.

To achieve this object, the features specified in claim 1 are provided in a ring binding of the type mentioned.

This is a bag, especially for boxes or boxes of music cassettes, CDs, video cassettes and computer disks created, that the fact that it is formed from the first and second backsheet, does not affect the stabilizing and protective function of the envelope. By inserting two pairs of groove lines, there is enough space even for thick boxes so that the envelope does not bulge. In addition, lateral locking of the two rear leaves is avoided.

If the distances between these pairs of groove lines are chosen to be approximately the same size, this means that the second back sheet can also be laid flat. This ensures simplified machine processing when tying. By changing one distance from the other and the thickness of a back sheet, the shape of the bag can be tapered towards the closed side, which provides a clamping hold for the inserted boxes, or a bag with an even clear height can be obtained.

A second groove line is advantageously provided on the first back sheet, which, particularly if its distance from the groove line delimiting the back is approximately equal to the diameter of the rings or spiral of the ring binding, improves the handling of the envelope according to the invention. If this groove line is present, it is particularly favorable to glue the second back sheet between this groove line and the incision and / or the tongue formed by the incision along its respective surface facing the first back sheet. This significantly increases the hold of the box in the bag. It is particularly advantageous if the gluing and pressing can be done mechanically, that the pairs of groove lines have substantially the same distance, so that the second back sheet can be laid flat. In addition, you can fold away the envelope on the second groove line to one side, so that the rings or spiral of the ring binding are exposed and Front sheets and back sheets can be hooked in by machine.

A single incision can be provided that begins and ends at a groove line. A tapering of the incision advantageously results in a guide for inserting a box into the pocket.

However, the pocket can also be formed from two incisions that begin at one groove line and end at another. The latter then limits a stop for the box. An advantageous guidance for the insertion arises again when the incisions are at least not parallel to one another over their entire length, but e.g. run trapezoidal or form arches.

Instead of a bag, you can of course also provide several, especially smaller bags, depending on the purpose of the bags.

The pocket can be delimited by the groove line which separates the first back sheet from the second back sheet. But it can also be arranged in the middle of the second back sheet, so that the two pairs of groove lines are both embossed on the second back sheet. It can be oriented in any way, i.e. with the opening to the side of the rings or spiral of the ring binding or to the side of the first back sheet.

The ring binding according to the invention with a 6-sided cover can also be designed such that, in addition to the second back sheet, the first back sheet is also hooked into the ring binding on its long side facing the back. Then the first rear sheet has two parallel rows of holes, between which the second groove line runs.

With an 8-page cover, it is particularly advantageous to hang both the first front page and the second back page in the ring binding. To do this, however, at least one additional groove line must be present on the second front sheet and / or the first rear sheet, since otherwise the envelope cannot be opened. In this way, the stability can be increased again, in particular if the facing surfaces of the front and rear sheets are glued together. It is also favorable to choose the distance between the back and the additional groove line or lines approximately equal to the diameter of the rings of the ring binding.

With an 8-page cover, it is possible to provide the pocket (s) between the first and second front sheets in a corresponding manner.

The ring binding 1 shown in FIG. 1 has rings 2 (or a spiral), into which a block 3 is suspended via holes 4 is. Furthermore, the ring binding 1 has a 6-sided envelope 10 with a front sheet 11, a first back sheet 12 and a second back sheet 13, which is suspended with its free end 14 via a row of holes 28 in the rings 2 of the ring binding 1. The front sheet 11 and the first rear sheet 12 are connected to one another via a back 15 which is delimited by two groove lines 16, 17. The first backsheet 12 has a further groove line 18, the distance from the groove line 17 is approximately equal to the diameter of the rings 2 of the ring binding 1.

The second back sheet 13 has a pocket 19, the base of which is formed by a region of the first back sheet 12. For this purpose, the first rear sheet 12 and the second rear sheet 13 are separated from one another by a pair of groove lines 20, 21 which are at a defined distance 24 from one another. The connection between the first back sheet 12 and the second back sheet 13 is established by the groove line 20. The second rear sheet 13 also has a further pair of groove lines 22, 23, the spacing 25 of which is the same size as or by the thickness of the first rear sheet 12 smaller than the distance 24 between the groove lines 20 and 21. The groove line 23 is shaped opposite to the groove lines 20, 21 and 22, ie it can be bent outwards, while the other three groove lines can be bent inwards. Starting from the groove line 23 closest to the rings 2 of the ring binding 1, the second rear sheet 13 has in its half closer to the first rear sheet 12 a semicircular incision 26 which begins and ends at the groove line 23. This creates a tongue 27 which lies flat against the first rear sheet 12. The groove lines 22, 23 can extend over the entire length of the second rear sheet 13, but they can also be interrupted in the region of the tongue 27. The first backsheet 12 and the second backsheet 13 are along their mutually facing surfaces in the area between the second groove line 18 of the first backsheet 12 and the groove line 23 of the second backsheet 13 glued together. Instead of or in addition, the tongue 27 can also be glued to the first rear sheet 12 along its surface facing the first rear sheet 12 up to the area of the groove line 23. In this way, the first backsheet 12 and the second backsheet 13 form a stable pocket 19, in this case for a CD, for example. In Figure 1, a CD box 5 is indicated as it is inserted into the pocket 19 from the open side and with its one front end face 8 in the insertion direction lies against the base of the pocket 19 formed between the first pair of groove lines 20, 21. When inserted, the CD box 5 is guided on its narrow sides by the opening edges 6, 7 of the pocket 19. The rear end face of the CD box 5 in the insertion direction is in the inserted state near the rings 2, so that it cannot slip out of the pocket 19 unintentionally. To remove the CD box 5 is raised at its end protruding from the pocket 19 and guided over the rings 2. The orientation of the pocket 19 can of course also be reversed, ie the incision 26 begins and ends at the groove line 20.

To produce the ring binding according to the invention with the 6-sided cover, a paper with at least, better than 300 g / m 2 basis weight is advantageously used. The 6-sided cover is cut out, the row of holes 28 at the free end 14 of the second rear sheet 13 and the semicircular incision 26 are punched out, and all the groove lines are embossed on one side and broken. The first backsheet 12 and the second backsheet 13 are then glued together, as described above. It is also advantageous that the distances 24, 25 between the two pairs of groove lines 20, 21 and 22, 23 are approximately the same size, so that the second back sheet 13 can be laid flat. In this way, gluing and pressing can be done mechanically. Then the 6-sided envelope 10 is hung together with the block 3 in the rings 2 of the ring binding 1 and the Rings 2 clamped together. For this purpose, the presence of the further groove line 18 on the first rear sheet 12 is advantageous. This groove line 18 allows the front sheet 11 and the back 15 of the 6-sided cover to be folded in the direction of arrow A in Figure 1, so that despite the gluing of the first rear sheet 12 and the second rear sheet 13, the free end 14 of the second rear sheet 13 is exposed and is accessible to the clamping machine.

Another embodiment of a 6-sided envelope 10 is shown in cross section in FIG. The reference numerals are the same as for the 6-page cover shown in FIG. 1. The only difference is that the rings 2 of the ring binding 1 run through both the first back sheet 12 and the second back sheet 13 and are thus visible on the back of the 6-sided cover. For this purpose, in addition to the row of holes 28 on the second back sheet 13, a double row of holes 29, 29 'is provided on the first back sheet 12, namely a row of holes 29 exactly opposite that on the second back sheet 13 and a second row of holes 29' between the back 15 delimiting Groove line 17 and the second groove line 18. Therefore, the distance between these two groove lines is also smaller than in the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 1, preferably equal to half the diameter of the rings 2, so that the rings 2 of the ring binding 1 do not have to be chosen too large . In this exemplary embodiment, too, the production takes place as described above. That is, the first backsheet 12 and the second 13 are glued together in the area between the second groove line 18 and the groove line 23, and the second groove line 18 is also advantageous here in order to machine the glued 6-sided cover easily into the rings To be able to hang 2 of the ring binding 1.

Figure 3 shows a third embodiment of the ring binding according to the invention, this time with an 8-sided Envelope 30 and a bag 19 'formed in a different way. The reference numerals for the parts which the 8-sided envelope and the otherwise designed pocket 19 'have in common with the 6-sided envelope 10 and the pocket 19 described above have remained the same.

This 8-sided cover 30 additionally has a first front sheet 31 and a second front sheet 32. The free end 34 of the first front sheet 31 is hooked into the rings 2 (or spiral) of the ring binding 1 '. On the second front sheet 32, in addition to the groove line 16, there is another groove line 33 at a distance which corresponds to the diameter of the rings 2 of the ring binding 1 '. The two back sheets 12, 13 look essentially the same as in the 6-sided cover shown in FIG. Here, too, the first backsheet 12 and the second backsheet 13 are separated from one another by a pair of groove lines 20, 21 which are at a certain distance 24 from one another.

Die beiden Öffnungskanten 6', 7' der Tasche 19' bilden auch hier die Einsteckführung für die seitlichen Schmalflächen der MC-Box 5'.On the second rear sheet 13 there is a second, this time interrupted pair of groove lines 22, 23, the distance 25 of which is equal to the distance 24 between the groove lines 20, 21. The pocket 19 'is designed as follows: starting at the groove line 23, two parallel incisions 26, 26' running perpendicular to this groove line 23 lead to a groove line 41. This groove line 41 belongs to a further parallel groove line pair 40, 41 on the second rear sheet 13 and connects the incisions 26, 26 'to each other. The groove line pair 40, 41 delimits a stop 39, which is the part of the second rear sheet 13 and has two functions. First, it enables the tongue 27 'to also be pressed down and, if necessary, to be glued to the first backsheet 12 along the mutually facing surfaces. Accordingly, the second back sheet 13 can also be laid flat here. Second, the stop 39 forms the base of the pocket 19 'on which the front one in the insertion direction End face 8 'of the inserted object, in the illustrated embodiment the box 5' of a music cassette (MC box 5 ') abuts. The incisions 26, 26 'have an arcuate taper 43, 44 in the direction of the groove line 41, under which the MC box 5' (the music cassette) is held. The two opening edges 6 ', 7' of the pocket 19 'also form the insertion guide for the narrow sides of the MC box 5'.

In order to prevent the MC box 5 'from slipping, the tongue 27' is provided with a punched-out tab 35. This tab 35 is formed by an oval incision 36 and also has an oppositely shaped groove line pair 37, 38. The incision 36 begins and ends at the groove line 37. The flap 35 is bent outwards at the groove line 37 and inwards at the groove line 38, so that the narrow surface 42 delimited by the groove lines for the MC box inserted into the pocket 19 ' 5 'forms a further stop, between which and the stop 39 the MC box 5' is held immovably. The remaining part of the tab 35 holds the MC box 5 'from above, like the tapering 43, 44. The flap 35, which forms a type of locking bracket for the opening side of the pocket 19 ', can be folded over to insert or remove an MC box 5' from the pocket 19 'towards the rings 2'.

The pocket 19 'can also do without the flap 35, for example if it is designed to accommodate an MC box in the longitudinal direction. The bag 19 shown in FIG. 1 can also be provided with the tab 35. It goes without saying that the dimensions of the pocket 19 'can also be such that a box for PC disks of, for example, 3, 5' 'can be accommodated instead of an MC box 5'.

They are manufactured essentially as described for the 6-sided cover, with the difference that the 8-sided cover is only glued into the ring binding after it has been hung up and that only the tongue 27 or 27 'is glued along its surface facing the first rear sheet 12 up to the groove line 23. Gluing and pressing is also done mechanically here, so that it is advantageous that the distances 24 and 25 are the same so that the second back sheet 13 can be laid flat.

In exemplary embodiments not shown, more than one pocket can be provided by two or more incisions arranged next to one another. The pocket (s) can also be offset inwards relative to the outer edge of the first rear sheet 12. With the 8-sided cover 30, it is also possible to arrange a pocket 19 or 19 'between the first and second front sheets 31, 32.
