Abstract

A metallic framework, in particular for a metal-glass building façade or the like, has vertical upright members (1) and horizontal locking elements (2). Both upright members (1) and locking elements (2) have T-shaped cross-sections. The locking elements (2) have nose-shaped projections (9) designed in such a way that the end areas of the locking elements (2) lie flush everywhere with the upright members (1). The upright members (1) and the locking elements (2) may be joined by pins or screws (10, 11, 12) which are not or hardly visible from the front side of the framework. An extremely stable, light to mount and aesthetically neat connection between the locking elements (2) and the upright members (1) of the metallic framework is thus obtained.

Description

The invention relates to a metal frame, in particular for a metal-glass building facade or the like.

Building facades are increasingly being constructed as metal-glass structures. As a basic construction, these metal-glass facades have a metal frame in which the individual facade elements, such as glass windows and the areas between these filling metal or plastic elements, are inserted. In addition, solar collectors can also be used in such a metal frame.

Such metal framework constructions are known in many ways. Such a metal frame usually consists of vertically extending post elements and horizontally extending locking elements which form the cross strut. As a rule, steel is used as a material.

Metal frameworks correspond to the prior art, but have the disadvantage that the connection between the post elements and the locking elements is visible from the outside and no aesthetically pleasing appearance is achieved in this area. In addition, the connections between the post elements and the locking elements are either subject to high assembly costs or are not distinguished by high stability.

From US-A-3,176,806 a metal frame with the features of the preamble of claim 1 is known. The locking elements are connected to the post elements by means of screws which penetrate openings in the longitudinal legs of the T cross-sectional profile of the post elements and engage in the corresponding end faces of the longitudinal legs of the T cross-sectional profile of the post elements. Although no connecting elements can be seen from the viewing side (with a view of the cross legs of the T cross-sectional profiles), only arrangements of two post elements with locking elements located in between can be created. When stringing together, as is absolutely necessary for building facades, two post elements must always be connected to each other what is undoubtedly complex and does not allow an aesthetically pleasing appearance.

Andere bekannte Metallgerüste benötigen zusätzliche Verriegelungselemente und daher zusätzlichen Montageaufwand (vgl. EP-A-0 375 089, DE-U-86 037 90).Other known metal structures require additional locking elements and therefore additional assembly effort (cf. EP-A-0 375 089, DE-U-86 037 90).

Proceeding from this, it is therefore an object of the invention to develop a metal frame of the type known from US Pat. No. 3,176,806 in such a way that the connection between the post elements and the locking elements is inconspicuous when viewed from the viewing side and, moreover, quick assembly and a stable connection is made possible.

The object is achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1.

This is achieved using the known mullion and transom elements with the essential T-shaped cross-sectional profiles, in which the transom elements are flush with the respective post elements everywhere in their end regions by means of a nose-shaped extension. In the concealed overlap region formed in this way, a connection that is not or hardly visible from the viewing side is achieved. The strength and the bending stiffness of the post elements as well as the locking elements is significantly increased by the use of the T-shaped cross-sectional profiles, the connection achieved by the invention being extremely stable. The pin elements are either not visible from the outside or, if they are inserted from the outside, at least after a corresponding after-treatment, such as. B. grinding, flush with the end face (the viewing side) of the mullion or transom elements. This is achieved in that at least one of the pin elements is arranged in the area of the nose-shaped extension of the locking element and at least one further pin element outside of this area. The stability is increased in that a mutually perpendicular arrangement of at least some of the pin elements is provided. At least one pin element arranged in the area of the nose-shaped extension is arranged perpendicular to at least one pin element in the area outside the nose-shaped extension, thereby largely preventing the connection from being released.

The invention is further developed by the features of the subclaims.

According to claims 2 to 4, the cross-sectional profiles of the locking elements and / or the post elements can each be formed by two flat elements, these flat elements, for. B. are firmly connected by welding or screwing. However, it is also possible to integrally form the T-shaped cross-sectional profiles, e.g. B. by means of a casting or drawing process. One of the flat elements of the locking element can form the nose-shaped extension overlapping with the T-shaped post elements.

Furthermore, it can be advantageous to connect the locking elements and the post elements according to claims 4 and 5 firmly but releasably.

The invention is explained in more detail using the exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing in FIGS. 2 to 4, in which:
Fig. 1
3 shows a perspective illustration of the connection area between the post elements and the locking elements of the metal frame without a corresponding illustration of the connection elements,

Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the connection area between a post element 1 and a locking element 2 of the metal frame. While the post element 1 is designed to run continuously across the entire facade, the locking elements 2 each connect two adjacent post elements 1. However, it is also possible to design the locking elements 2 continuously and to interrupt the post elements 1 in the area of the locking elements 2.

The arrow provided with the reference number 3 indicates the direction of view of the outward-facing end face of the metal frame. Both the post elements 1 and the transom elements 2 have a T-shaped cross-sectional profile, so that on the side of the metal frame facing away from the viewing direction 3 a circumferential frame is formed in which the facade elements, such as windows or cladding elements and the like, can be used. In the illustrated embodiment, the post elements 1 and the locking elements 2 are each formed from two flat elements 4 and 5 or 6 and 7. The flat elements can be made of flat steel and welded or screwed together. In the connection area 8 of the post elements 1 and the locking elements 2, the locking elements 2 have a nose-shaped extension 9. This nose-shaped extension 9 can be created in a simple manner in that the flat elements 4 and 5 are of different lengths. Of the nose-shaped extension 9 is dimensioned such that the locking element 2 is flush with the post element 1 everywhere.

Figure 2 shows an embodiment of the connection between the locking elements and the post elements 1. The connection is made by means of the pin elements 10, 11 and 12. The locking elements or the post elements have corresponding bores 13 to 15 or 16 to 18. During assembly, the pin elements 16 and 11 are first hammered into the bores 13 and 14 of the locking element. Subsequently, the locking element 2 is mounted on the post element 1 by inserting the pins 10 and 11 into the bores 16 and 17. Finally, the pin element 12 is inserted into the bores 18 of the post element and 15 of the locking element. In particular, the pin element 12 can also be designed as a screw in order to achieve an easily detachable connection between the post elements and the locking elements. Due to the vertical position of the pin element 12 to the mounting direction of the locking element, the release of the locking element is blocked and at the same time the stability of the connecting structure is increased.

Only the borehole 18 is arranged on the end face of the metal frame. However, this is closed by the pin element 12. Closes the pin element 12 z. B. due to a post-treatment (z. B. grinding) from the borehole 18, both the borehole 18 and the pin element appear inconspicuous to the viewer.

The flat elements 4 and 5 of the locking elements 2 are connected by weld seams 23 and 24. In the same way, the flat elements 6 and 7 of the post element 1 are connected by welds 25 and 26. The connection between the post elements 1 and locking elements 2 is made by the pin elements 10, 11 or 20, 21 arranged in the mounting direction of the locking elements 2 and the pin elements 12 or 22 arranged perpendicular to the mounting direction of the locking elements 2, as described above. This embodiment is characterized by a particularly short assembly time in the production of a connection between a locking element and a post element. Given the multitude of connections to be made between locking elements and Post elements when installing a large-scale building facade pay particular attention to this installation time.

Figure 4 shows a second embodiment of the connection between a post element 1 and the locking elements 2, both in a top view and in elevation. The connection between the flat elements 6 and 7 of the post element is realized, as in the embodiment shown in FIG. 3, by means of welding along the weld seams 25 and 26. However, the connection between the flat elements 4 and 5 of the locking elements 2 is formed by means of a screw connection using the screws 30 to 35. This embodiment has the advantage of releasability of the connection between the locking elements 2 and the post elements 1. However, the exemplary embodiment shown can also be varied in such a way that the connection between the flat elements 4 and 5 is produced by welding instead of by screwing and only the pins 12 and 22 of the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 3 are replaced by the screws 31 and 34. Of course, it is also conceivable to connect the flat elements 6 and 7 of the post element 1 by screwing or the connection between the flat elements in another way, for. B. by soldering or riveting.

In addition, a further pin element 36 can be provided, which additionally connects the locking elements 2 through the post element 1.
