Description

The present invention relates to the general technical field of massage devices for manual use intended to provide the user with a beneficial effect of relaxation in the treated area.

The invention relates to a relaxer for the human body, in particular for the legs, comprising a main frame associated with a gripping member, at least one means for storing a fluid to be applied, and at least one massage means arranged on the frame so as to ensure, simultaneously with the massage action, the application of the fluid to the treated area.

The invention finds very particularly, but not exclusively, its application in the treatment of the well known phenomenon of "heavy legs". This phenomenon, caused by a deficient venous return, occurs most frequently in summer in people whose muscle contractions are insufficient to ensure the return of blood to the heart when the diameter of the vein has increased under the effect of heat.

To solve this problem, it is already known to resort simply to foot baths or whirlpool baths supposed to facilitate the return of blood to the heart. Such methods prove to be easy to implement, but only provide an ephemeral relief effect whose effectiveness is therefore limited.

Conventional massage devices, such as that described for example in patent US-A-5,131,384 are not specifically designed to remedy the phenomenon especially heavy legs. Such devices comprise, from a main frame capable of being manipulated manually by the user, a reservoir for storing a fluid intended to be applied to the skin simultaneously with the massage action provided by a set of balls . The liquid reservoir is arranged in relation to the balls so that the latter can allow the application of a film of fluid on the treated area. These devices are more particularly designed for the application of fluid or liquid for medical use in conjunction with a massage action to more specifically treat muscular or skin problems. Such devices are moreover often of complex design and the operations of filling the tank and cleaning difficult. It should in particular be noted that for devices comprising parts in contact with the skin, it is particularly important to be able to properly clean all of the parts in contact with the skin and to have easy access to all the areas in which bacterial foci can develop.

The object of the present invention therefore aims to remedy the drawbacks of the devices of the known prior art, in particular such as those mentioned above, and to provide a relaxation device for the human body, in particular for specifically treating the phenomenon heavy legs, and whose handling for cleaning purposes in particular is particularly improved using simple and reliable means.

Another object of the invention is to provide a relaxation device whose filling of the fluid reservoir is facilitated.

Another object of the invention is to provide a relaxation device facilitating the observation of the level of treatment liquid without disassembly or particular manipulation of said device.

Another object of the invention is to provide a relaxation device, the cleaning of each part intended to be in contact with the skin is particularly easy to perform.

A complementary object of the invention aims to provide a relaxation device whose distribution and distribution of the treatment fluid is accomplished in a regular and homogeneous manner over the surface to be treated.

Another object of the invention is to provide a relaxation device whose fluid delivery rate is controlled and regular.

The objects assigned to the invention are achieved using a relaxation device for the human body, in particular for the legs, comprising a main frame associated with a gripping member, at least one means of storing a fluid to apply, at least one massage means arranged on the frame so as to ensure, simultaneously with the massage action, the application of the fluid to the body characterized in that it comprises:
  • drying means capable of ensuring the evaporation of the fluid on the application area,
  • an autonomous support block removably mounted on the frame and supporting the storage means and the massage means.

Other examples and advantages of the invention will be described in detail in the description which follows, in the light of the appended drawings, provided by way of explanation and without limitation, in which:
  • Figure 1 shows a general view, a perspective of a relaxation device according to the invention.
  • Figure 2 shows a general perspective view identical to that of Figure 1, a relaxation device according to the invention in which the block work support is extracted from the device frame.
  • Figure 3 shows in a perspective view an exploded view of the various constituent parts of the working support block of a relaxing device according to the invention.
  • Figure 4 shows in a longitudinal cross-sectional view the internal structure of a relaxation device according to the invention.
  • Figure 5 shows a bottom view of a relaxation device according to the invention.

The relaxation device according to the invention shown in FIG. 1 comprises a main frame 1 formed for example by two half-shells 2, 3 respectively upper and lower, made of a plastic material for example, and assembled by any suitable means, and as by gluing or clipping.

The main frame 1 is associated at one end with a gripping member 4 forming a handle intended to be grasped by the user and constituting an extension of the two half-shells 2, 3.

The opposite end to the gripping member 4 forms the head 5 of the main body 1 comprising at least part of the working members of the relaxing device according to the invention.

As shown in Figures 2 to 4, the working members comprise on the one hand an autonomous support block 10 removably mounted on the main frame 1, and in particular on the lower half-shell 3, and on the other hand a system of ventilation 20 mounted and housed in the internal body of the main frame 1.

The ventilation system 20 consists for example of a blowing member 21 associated with a motor 22 supplied electrically by means of supplying autonomous electrical energy in the form of a battery 23 or derivatives of the sector. The blowing member 21 is arranged so as to provide a continuous flow of air over the area of the human body treated by the relaxing device. The ventilation system 20 thus forms a means of drying the application area.

The reservoir 13 forms the upper part of the autonomous support block 10 and is provided in its bottom 14 with holes 15 forming fluid distribution orifices. Preferably the fluid distribution orifices 15 are three in number and aligned substantially in the central part of the bottom 14, along the transverse axis of the massage means 12. Preferably the bottom 14 forms a convexity vault turned towards the volume internal of the reservoir 13, said bottom 14 joining the lower end of the front 13a and rear walls (not visible in the figures) of the reservoir 13. The upper part of the reservoir 13 consists of a closure panel provided, preferably in its central part, with a filling opening 16, for example circular. The autonomous support block 10 further comprises a flap 17 preferably pivotally mounted on the reservoir 13, said flap 17 being provided with a closing pin 18 of dimension adapted to the filling orifice 16 so as to constitute a flap of hermetic and watertight closure of the tank 13.

According to a preferred version of the invention, the massage means 12 is formed by at least one roller mounted under the storage means 11 and at least partly in the roof of the reservoir 13, and preferably in line with the distribution orifices 15 of the reservoir 13 so as to be partially enveloped by the bottom 14. Advantageously the roller 12 is rotatably supported at its axes of rotation 12a, 12b forming lateral pins, removably by lateral tabs 31, 32 integral with the support block 10 and extending laterally downward from the latter.

According to a preferred arrangement, the lateral tabs 31, 32 have sufficient flexibility so as to allow the engagement by force of the roller 12 therebetween and the retention of the pins 12a, 12b in cavities formed in said lateral tabs 31, 32.

According to a particularly advantageous version of the invention, the roller 12 is rotatably supported by means of the lateral tabs 31, 32 in a stable position under the bottom 14 of the reservoir 13 and at a distance from said bottom 14, so as to provide a free volume.

Advantageously, part of this free volume is occupied by a fluid distribution means 40, formed for example from a soaking member such as a polyester felt. The latter is for example formed of a substantially parallelepipedal block of thickness slightly greater than the distance separating the roller 12 from the base 14, so that it can be compressed when the roller 12 is in its stable working position.

Le moyen de répartition de fluide 40 est par ailleurs solidaire, par exemple par collage du fond 14, et disposé de manière à recouvrir et boucher les orifices de distribution 15.The fluid distribution means 40 is also integral, for example by bonding the bottom 14, and arranged so as to cover and plug the dispensing orifices 15.

Un tel montage permet à la fois de maîtriser et de régulariser le débit d'écoulement du liquide contenu dans le réservoir 13, et par compression de régulariser son application sur la zone à traiter en permettant de maintenir un film de liquide d'épaisseur constante sur le rouleau 12.Such an arrangement makes it possible both to control and regularize the flow rate of the liquid contained in the reservoir 13, and by compression to regularize its application on the area to be treated by allowing a film of liquid of constant thickness to be maintained over roller 12.

According to another particularly advantageous version of the invention, the roller 12 comprises a concave external envelope, the concavity of which faces outwards, forming, when it is applied to the skin of the user, a lateral zone of delivery of the skin at the end of the roller 12 and a central suction zone. Such a form called "diabolo" obviously facilitates massage and the application of the liquid and is particularly well suited to massage the lower limbs.

Advantageously, the peripheral zones of the massage surface of the roller 12 are provided with recessed or raised patterns 12c promoting the massage effect. The application surface of the roller 12 will either be smooth or possibly grained or sanded.

The support block 10 is removably mounted on the lower half-shell 3 by simple force-clipping of said support in a cavity 41 formed in said lower shell 3. To this end, each lateral tab 31, 32 has on its outer face a tongue 42 intended to come into engagement with a corresponding blocking recess in the walls of the cavity 41. Obviously, reverse mounting can be envisaged, as can any equivalent means for holding the autonomous support block 10 in the cavity 41.

The support block 10, and in particular the reservoir 13, are made of plastic material. Advantageously, the reservoir 13 comprises at least one transparent zone, preferably the front walls 13a and the bottom 14 visible from the outside of the device, when the support block 10 is in place in the cavity 41. This arrangement allows the user to observe the level of fluid in the reservoir 13 from the transparent zone, without having to extract the support block 10. The front walls 13a preferably projecting slightly out of the cavity 41, make it possible to quickly visualize the level of fluid . It is also possible to view the liquid level by observing the underside of the apparatus (FIG. 5), the arch of the bottom 14 partially surrounding the roller 12 and being easily visible in this case.

The operation of the relaxation device according to the invention is as follows.

Before the massage operation begins, the user proceeds to extract the autonomous support block 10 by pressing on the lateral tabs 31, 32 which has the effect of ensuring the release of said autonomous support block 10 by releasing the tabs 42 outside the recesses in the cavity 41. The user can then extract the autonomous support block 10 outside the cavity 41 according to the arrows F1 as shown in FIG. 2. The opening of the flap 17 then allows free access by the filling orifice 16 to the reservoir 13 which can be filled with the liquid such as water or water with added alcohol, intended to be applied to the skin. Once the filling is complete, the flap 17 is closed and the autonomous support block 10 is reintroduced into the cavity 41. The user can then start the relaxing device, for example using a non-contact button. shown in the figures. The drying means 20 then generates a flow of drying air allowing the commencement of the relaxation operation. When the user applies the roller 12 to the area to be treated, the latter simultaneously with its massage effect applies to the area to be treated a thin film of liquid which is immediately evaporated by the drying flow generated by the drying means 20. The drying flow is directed onto the treated area using ejection orifices not shown in the figures. The combination of the massaging effect and the surface cooling of the skin achieved by drying appears to have a beneficial influence on the blood circulation responsible for the phenomenon of heavy legs.

By way of a variant falling within the scope of the invention, it is conceivable to use as storage means 13 any type of material capable of absorbing a fluid and to restore it by capillary action and to replace the roller 12 by any equivalent means capable of producing a massaging effect locally compressing the skin during the passage of the device.

At the end of the application, the user can again, by pressing on the lateral tabs 31, 32, extract the autonomous support block 10 and then proceed to cleaning it. To this end, the extraction of the roller 12 allows not only its complete cleaning, but also to have access for cleaning purposes to the soaking felt 40 and to all the neighboring areas. It should also be noted that the complete removability of the autonomous support block 10 allows a particularly easy filling by simplifying its handling.
