Definitions
- the invention relates to a carrying device for skis according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such a carrying device which forms a separate component and can only be attached to the skis for transport and easier carrying, is known from AT-A 177 102.
- the tension member is made of rubber and the clamping jaws are U-shaped so that they grip around the ski edges.
- the handle is attached directly to one jaw.
- US Pat. No. 3,366,297 discloses a carrying device with retaining clips that can be attached to the ski ends and that are equipped with springs and that can be connected via their own carrying rod provided with a handle.
- a carrying device is known from two holding jaws connected via a spring eye, each with a handle, the holding jaws being snapped into the skis in such a way that the spring eye comes to rest in the mutually facing guide grooves of the ski running surfaces.
- the handles are combined so that the skis can be carried with their help.
- a likewise bulky carrier device which cannot be stowed in the outer clothing is known from US Pat. No. 4,461,506 used to form the preamble of claim 1.
- This carrying device serves to transport the two skis of a pair of skis as well as the poles and ski boots, separate fastening points being provided for all these elements.
- the part forming the carrying device for the skis has two holding jaws which can be adjusted against one another by means of a screw spindle operated by a handwheel for clamping the skis, the screw spindle being accommodated in the hollow guide axis of the one clamping jaw.
- a handle is designed as a separate component attached to the overall housing of the device.
- the handle is connected to a clamping device consisting of straps or set screws for holding the skis in place.
- Other carrying devices use permanently attached, hinged carrying brackets, but in which there is the problem that a separate assembly is required, and it is often impossible or difficult to attach the carrying device in the center of gravity of the skis because of the binding.
- the object of the invention is therefore to provide a support device of the type mentioned which itself has a simple structure, can be attached and removed quickly and which, when not in use, requires such a small storage space that it can easily be placed in a pocket of an outer garment, e.g. an outer pocket of an anorake can be inserted.
- the overall size of the carrying device is essentially determined by the size of the handle to be adapted to the practical requirements, the necessary clamping stroke and the size of the clamping jaws. Because of the coupling of the jaw drive with the handle, the necessary clamping of the skis with attached jaws is already achieved by completely opening the handle. Conversely, the carrying device can be removed simply by folding the handle onto the housing; the housing can be adapted to the width of the jaws and can be made relatively small.
- a particularly advantageous, reliable and a small storage size configuration of the carrying device according to the invention is specified in claim 3.
- the handle In the second latching position, the handle is also held in its folded position on the housing.
- the embodiment according to claim 4 serves to further reduce the overall size and the required storage space.
- the carrying device has a flat prismatic housing 1 in the basic form, the underside of which forms a clamping jaw 2 and a further clamping jaw 3 with clamping surfaces 4 directed towards the housing 1.
- the surfaces 2 and 4 are each recessed towards their center to ensure that inserted skis 5 move as close together as possible with their treads.
- the clamping jaw 3 sits on a rod 6 which is connected to a further rod 9 by means of a double screw 8 which can be rotated by means of a handle 7.
- a double screw 8 which can be rotated by means of a handle 7.
- the rod 9 engages in a bore of a piston 10 which is mounted in a longitudinally displaceable manner in the housing 1, a transverse pin 11 of the rod 9 being guided in an elongated hole 12 of this piston.
- An upper part 13 of the piston is offset from the lower part 10 with an enlarged diameter and in one guided correspondingly larger housing bore 14, wherein a compression spring 15 is inserted between the shoulder of the piston 13 and the lower end of the bore 14.
- the cross pin 11 lies at the lower end of the elongated hole 12. It is therefore possible to telescopically insert the rods 6, 8, 9 when no skis are to be clamped in until the surfaces 2, 4 bear against one another .
- the piston In its lower region 10, the piston has a latching projection 16 on one side, in which the top and bottom represent counter-latches for a pivot lever 17 which forms a locking mechanism with the latches.
- the pivot lever 17 preloaded in the sense of engagement by a torsion spring 18 and thus the locking mechanism, the pistons 10, 13 hold in a position which corresponds to the rest position as is given before the skis are attached.
- the rod 6, 8, 9 was only shown in the extended position for the sake of clarity. If the lever 17 is pivoted into a release position via an outer pivoting handle 19, which is supported in a housing recess, then the compression spring 15 presses the piston 10, 13 upward.
- the piston 13 In its upper region, the piston 13 carries a bearing eye 20, from which a connecting rod 21 leads to a crank pin 22 on a crank disk 23, which is part of a bearing head 24 of a handle 25 designed as a pivot lever, which in turn is supported with bearing pins 26 in corresponding housing bores.
- the handle is pivoted out of the position shown in FIG. 3 by the action of the spring 15 by about 45 °. Skis can be inserted between the surfaces 2, 4. If the handle 25 is grasped again and swung open into the carrying position according to FIG. 1, then the latching lever 17 engages on the underside of the counter-latch determined by the collar 16 and thereby secures pistons 10, 13 and rods 6-9 in a clamping position for the Ski.

Description
The invention relates to a carrying device for skis according to the preamble of
Such a carrying device, which forms a separate component and can only be attached to the skis for transport and easier carrying, is known from AT-A 177 102. The tension member is made of rubber and the clamping jaws are U-shaped so that they grip around the ski edges. The handle is attached directly to one jaw. When the skis are carried, their weight continuously acts on the tension member connecting the two clamping jaws, so that either a very strongly pre-tensioned, strong tension member must be used, in which the insertion into the skis requires considerable skill and with great effort using both hands is connected or there is a risk that the tension member partially yields and vibrates under the vibrations when walking, whereby the skis can jump out of the upper jaw.
Other known carrying devices are also difficult to attach or remove and have a relatively large space requirement, so that they cannot simply be inserted into a pocket of outer clothing. For this reason, such support devices have so far hardly been used.
For example, US Pat. No. 3,366,297 discloses a carrying device with retaining clips that can be attached to the ski ends and that are equipped with springs and that can be connected via their own carrying rod provided with a handle.
From US-A 3 780 920 a carrying device is known from two holding jaws connected via a spring eye, each with a handle, the holding jaws being snapped into the skis in such a way that the spring eye comes to rest in the mutually facing guide grooves of the ski running surfaces. The handles are combined so that the skis can be carried with their help.
A likewise bulky carrier device which cannot be stowed in the outer clothing is known from US Pat. No. 4,461,506 used to form the preamble of
According to AT-A 317 061 and DE-A 23 07 807, the handle is connected to a clamping device consisting of straps or set screws for holding the skis in place. Other carrying devices use permanently attached, hinged carrying brackets, but in which there is the problem that a separate assembly is required, and it is often impossible or difficult to attach the carrying device in the center of gravity of the skis because of the binding.
The object of the invention is therefore to provide a support device of the type mentioned which itself has a simple structure, can be attached and removed quickly and which, when not in use, requires such a small storage space that it can easily be placed in a pocket of an outer garment, e.g. an outer pocket of an anorake can be inserted.
The problem is solved by the features of
In the embodiment according to the invention, the overall size of the carrying device is essentially determined by the size of the handle to be adapted to the practical requirements, the necessary clamping stroke and the size of the clamping jaws.
In order to ensure that, if this is desired, the carrying device still holds the skis when the skis are parked, a further development according to
A particularly advantageous, reliable and a small storage size configuration of the carrying device according to the invention is specified in
In the second latching position, the handle is also held in its folded position on the housing.
In order to allow adaptation to different width skis, an embodiment according to

The carrying device has a flat
The
With its inner end, the
In its
