- the wide track 11 ensures great stability of the vehicle 10 and provides sufficient space for housing the two layers 28,29 of towing cables 25,26,27 between the two carrying cables 12,13 in the interval "i" of low height .
- FIGS. 4 and 5 on which a single loop of tractor cables has been shown, it can be seen that the return pulleys 32, 33 as well as the drive mechanism of the driving pulley 32 with the motor 34, are housed in the interval "i" with possibly a slight upward projection, which in no way hinders the passage of the vehicle 10.
- the station infrastructure is thus significantly simplified and it can be constituted by a pylon or a support frame small dimensions, the platforms being at ground level.
- Changes in the towing cable are carried out at stationary stations, and such a change does not necessarily take place in each station, if the same loop of towing cable extends along several stations, the intermediate stations being simple stations stop.
- the driving of the towing cables 25, 26, 27 can be carried out by a driving drum arranged at any point of the track, in particular in a stop station without changing the cable or by any other operating means.
- the invention is applicable to installations having only two loops towing cables or a greater number of loops and the arrangement of these loops may be different, the two strands of the same loop being for example arranged side by side. In an installation having outward and return paths arranged side by side, the towing strands may extend along the outward path and the return strands along the return path and vice versa.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a transport installation having at least one passive vehicle coupled to a tractor cable by a disengageable clamp to be towed and to roll on a wide track, which connects two stations and which consists of two carrying cables s' extending parallel to the same level with a spacing substantially equal to or slightly less than the width of the vehicle, which vehicle comprises rollers on the carrying cables, which are arranged above the roof of the vehicle so that this roof is located at - below the plan containing the two carrying cables.
A known installation of the kind mentioned comprises a carriage, which rolls on the cables and to which is articulated a suspension line for fixing the vehicle. This cable car transporter, designed to be installed in the mountains, is bulky and does not allow the circulation of several vehicles on the same lane.
The advantages of respect for the environment, absence of pollution and reduced cost of overhead cable carriers are well known and the present invention aims to allow the realization of such a carrier suitable for urban transport.
The installation according to the invention is characterized in that the separation interval of said roof and of said plane containing the carrying cables is of substantially constant and reduced height and that the shoes for supporting the carrying cables and a plurality of towing cables are housed in this interval, being interposed between the two carrying cables.
In urban sites, the slope or changes in slope of the track are slight and the suspension is almost eliminated, which allows a significant reduction in the height of the installation and therefore of its cost, is not annoying. The vehicles run on the track formed by the two carrying cables like railway wagons pulled by cable and the ground infrastructure is reduced to pylons staggered along the track.
The lines or the connections between the rollers and the vehicle preferably extend outside the carrying cables so as to frame these two cables, which are then supported by shoes held from above and by the internal side by pylons. A reverse arrangement is of course conceivable.
The traction cables advantageously pass through the stations on idler pulleys to form closed loops for driving vehicles from one station to the other and for stopping vehicles in these stations. In the station, the vehicle is coupled, by closing a clamp, to a stationary cable loop, before being accelerated and driven on the track, by driving the cable loop, to the next station. where it stops by stopping the cable loop. The same loop can extend between several successive stations and this loop is then stopped each time the vehicle passes through a station. On the contrary, the track can be subdivided into several sections, each equipped with a towing cable loop and in each station the vehicle is uncoupled from one of the loops to be coupled to the next loop. For this purpose each vehicle is equipped with an appropriate clamp, in particular of the type described in French patent No. 2,337,067 and the ends of the loops overlap.
According to an important development of the invention, the drive and / or return mechanism of the towing cables is housed in the space defined by the interval between the carrying cables and the roof of the vehicle and between the two cable support shoes. porters at a station. By housing the idler pulleys and, if necessary, their drive motors in this interval, the structure of the station is simplified, the assembly being fixed to the frame of the station which can be a simple pylon. It is possible to place the traction cable pulley in a different location, for example at a vehicle stop station without changing the cable.
According to a development of the invention, several towing cables or towing cable loops are fitted on the same track, each cable being driven independently of the others to allow simultaneous circulation of several vehicles on the same track, in the manner described in the French patent application. N ° 93 01630 of February 08, 1993. The traction strands of the various loops are preferably grouped in a first horizontal ply, while the return strands are grouped in a second ply arranged symmetrically with respect to the axis of the track. When the installation comprises a forward track and a return track, arranged side by side, the pulling strand of a loop can be associated with one of the tracks while the return strand extends along the other track.
- la figure 1 est une vue schématique en perspective d'un véhicule d'une installation de transport selon l'invention;
- les figures 2 et 3 sont des vues en coupe, respectivement transversale et longitudinale du véhicule selon la figure 1;
- les figures 4 et 5 sont des vues en plan et en élévation d'une section de voie équipée d'une seule boucle de câble tracteur;
- Figure 1 is a schematic perspective view of a vehicle of a transport installation according to the invention;
- Figures 2 and 3 are sectional views, respectively transverse and longitudinal of the vehicle according to Figure 1;
- Figures 4 and 5 are plan views and elevation of a track section equipped with a single loop of tractor cable;
- Figure 6 is a cross-sectional view of the vehicle when passing a pylon.
In the figures, a
In the interval "i" above the
The
The use of three independent loops of towing cables 25,26,27 allows a simultaneous presence of three
The
Referring more particularly to FIGS. 4 and 5, on which a single loop of tractor cables has been shown, it can be seen that the
Changes in the towing cable are carried out at stationary stations, and such a change does not necessarily take place in each station, if the same loop of towing cable extends along several stations, the intermediate stations being simple stations stop.
The driving of the towing cables 25, 26, 27 can be carried out by a driving drum arranged at any point of the track, in particular in a stop station without changing the cable or by any other operating means. The invention is applicable to installations having only two loops towing cables or a greater number of loops and the arrangement of these loops may be different, the two strands of the same loop being for example arranged side by side. In an installation having outward and return paths arranged side by side, the towing strands may extend along the outward path and the return strands along the return path and vice versa.
