Definitions

  • the invention relates to a magazine for the automatic printing plate change in printing presses, in particular sheetfed offset printing presses according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such a magazine for automatic printing plate change is known for example from DE 4 129 022 C2 and EP 0 435 410 A2.
  • the magazines described in the respective prior publications are designed to accommodate a plurality of printing plates to be fed to the plate cylinder.
  • the new printing plates to be fed are placed on a base and the top printing plate is removed in each case by a transport device and fed to the plate cylinder.
  • the transport devices are, for example, linearly movable suction devices.
  • the magazine also has a removable cassette in which the printing plates to be newly inserted are inserted. It is thus possible to insert the new printing plates into the cassette at a location other than on the printing press and to insert the fully loaded cassette into the magazine on the respective printing unit.
  • a disadvantage of this type of the known magazine for receiving a plurality of printing plates to be newly fed is that the top printing plate is removed by the transport device. The position of the printing plates, ie their layering, thus determines the sequence of the printing plates that can be removed.
  • Such magazines are therefore only useful if the It is already known from the magazine which printing plates are to be used in which order in the next print jobs. The printing plates themselves must also be available.
  • EP 0 100 778 B1 discloses a printing plate changer designed as a movable carriage, in which printing plates are attached to a revolving suspension device and are removed by a transport device.
  • the ends of the pressure plates are hook-shaped, and the plate cylinders also have special fastening devices.
  • the invention is therefore based on the object of improving a magazine in accordance with the preamble of claim 1 in such a way that a high degree of flexibility with regard to the removal of new printing plates is ensured.
  • an individually switchable holding device is assigned to each printing plate to be accommodated.
  • each individual new printing plate is placed in the magazine in a vertical orientation, for example on pivoting stop pins.
  • the switchable holding devices can also be designed as actuatable suction cups, grippers or other clamping devices.
  • the switchable holding devices assigned to the individual printing plates make it possible for the printing plates to be removed in any order regardless of the order in which they are inserted into the magazine.
  • the individual printing plates are placed in the magazine, there is no specification regarding the sequence of the subsequent print jobs.
  • the magazine according to the invention allows it not to be equipped with the maximum number of printing plates provided, that is to say no printing plates are provided on one or more switchable holding devices. These remaining empty spaces (no printing plate) thus allow a short-term rescheduling regarding the order of orders in such a way that an urgent and short-term order can be inserted. The corresponding printing plate of this order can thus be subsequently inserted into the correspondingly empty magazine compartment.
  • the printing plate is placed in predominantly horizontal orientation with its front edge on corresponding stop means as holding devices, it is also possible to easily remove any printing plate from the magazine and replace it with another. This removal option ensures that an intended print job on a later appointment can be rescheduled.
  • the single figure shows in principle a printing unit of a sheet-fed offset printing machine with a magazine according to the invention arranged in front of the printing unit cylinders.
  • the figure shows a magazine 1, essentially designed as a box, on the so-called cantilever side of a symbolically represented printing unit 2.
  • Individual printing plates 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4 can be inserted into the magazine 1 from above into compartments 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4 provided for this purpose.
  • the individual printing plates 3.1 - 3.4 are placed vertically in the magazine 1 in the corresponding compartments 4.1 - 4.4.
  • the individual subjects 4.1 - 4.4 are divided by walls 4.a, 4.b, 4.c. This ensures that the individual printing plates are securely in an upright position, although, as can be seen in the figure, the magazine 1 only takes up the printing plates 3.1-3.4 to a part of the format length.
  • a switchable holding device 5.1-5.4 is arranged at the lower end of each compartment 4.1-4.4 and is designed as a pair of stops which can be swung downward.
  • these switchable holding devices 5.1-5.4 are in the horizontal position shown in the figure, if they are designed as swiveling stops.
  • the individual printing plates 3.1 - 3.4 are placed with their front edge on these holding devices 5.1 - 5.4.
  • the individual switchable holding devices 5.1-5.4 and thus also the compartments 4.1-4.4 are offset in height from one another in the manner of a staircase in magazine 1 arranged.
  • the printing plate 3.1 furthest away from the printing unit 2 is thus a certain amount higher than the printing plate 3.4 closest to the printing unit 2.
  • the conveying surface 7 has, in particular, a surface structure which is gentle on the pressure plates 3.1-3.4, with in particular good sliding properties. Brushes can preferably be arranged here.
  • a guide surface 6.2 - 6.4 is arranged in the area of the switchable holding devices 5.2 - 5.4 , which gently impresses a curvature on the respective pressure plate 3.1, 3.2, 3.3.
  • the conveying surface 7 can have brushes or other devices for the gentle transport of the printing plates 3.1-3.4, but it can also be provided to provide an active conveying device here, for example in the form of a rotating conveyor belt, in particular in connection with a suction device.
  • a pair of transport rollers 8, 9 is arranged between the side frame walls of the printing unit 2 or on the lower part of the magazine 1, a transport roller 8 or 9 being drivable.
  • One that emerges from the compartments 1.1 to 1.4 after the corresponding switching of the holding device 5.1 to 5.4 via the conveying surface 7 from the magazine 1, in particular due to its gravity Pressure plate 3.1 to 3.4 is thus grasped by this driven pair of transport rollers 8, 9 and inserted into the corresponding tensioning rail of the beginning of the print, not shown here, via a guide device 10 which can be set on the plate cylinder 11.
  • the corresponding pressure plate 5.1 - 5.4 is clamped via this clamping rail.
  • the pressure plate is then pulled onto its outer circumference in a known manner.
  • the plate cylinder 11 has remote-controlled devices for clamping and tensioning the front and rear ends of a pressure plate 3.1-3.4.
  • a used printing plate previously removed from the plate cylinder 11 is also conveyed in a manner known per se by turning the plate cylinder backwards and is conveyed into a part of the magazine 1 which is not shown here.
  • This part for receiving used printing plates is also designed as a box-shaped structure and is preferably arranged between the printing unit 2 and the compartments 4.1-4.4 of the magazine 1.
  • the guide device 10 which can be set on the plate cylinder 11 is pivotally mounted, for example, parallel to the axis of the plate cylinder 11.
  • the basic position of this guide device 10 is shown in dashed lines.
  • the magazine 1 for the printing plates 3.1-3.4 is preferably mounted vertically in front of the printing unit 2 in corresponding vertical guides.
  • the figure shows the working position of the magazine 1.
  • the magazine 1 In the basic position during printing, the magazine 1 is in the position indicated by dashed lines. It can also be provided that the magazine 1 can be moved further upwards for accessibility to the plate cylinder 11 and to the remaining parts of the printing unit 2 (service position).
  • the pressure plates 3.1 - 3.4 (the rear edges thereof) also project out of the top of the magazine 1 in stages.
