Definitions
- the invention relates to a push button switch with a switching plunger, the stroke of which generates a pressure point, a contact and a restoring voltage under spring action.
- Such pushbutton switches are described in DE-GM 81 14 214, DE 35 20 848 A1, EP 0 074 004 A2, EP 0 123 818 A1 and EP 0 515 943 A2. These have their own spring elements for the functions: pressure point generation, contacting and resetting. The construction and assembly work is accordingly large. In addition, difficulties arise when the switching stroke of the switching plunger is only small and it should be ensured that the pressure point is before the switching point during the stroke.
- DE 36 22 962 A1 also describes a key switch of the type mentioned at the beginning.
- the actuation should be clearly felt with a small stroke, for example 1 mm to 3 mm, and the pressure point should be in front of the switching point.
- Such switches are required, for example, in automotive electronics.
- an end turn of a helical return spring is provided with inwardly deformed sections which cooperate with an oblique locking edge of the switching plunger in order to generate the pressure point.
- the contact is made by an independent contact spring set.
- the structural assignment of the contact spring set and the switching plunger is sensitive to tolerances with regard to the short stroke and the required switching sequence.
- the helical return spring with the inwardly deformed sections that are supposed to spring radially is difficult to dimension. In addition, friction occurs between the mentioned sections and the switching plunger after the pressure point has been overcome.
- the object of the invention is to propose a pushbutton switch of the type mentioned, in which, with a simple structure and with a short stroke, reliable contact actuation is achieved after a pressure point has been overcome.
- a one-piece spring element which, on the one hand, forms a resiliently movable contact arm and, on the other hand, a resilient return arm which rests on the switching plunger, on the spring element between the contact arm and the return arm, resiliently curved in a hairpin-shaped manner
- Guide legs are formed on which the switching plunger is displaceable, and that at least on the guide arm adjoining the contact arm, an oblique step is formed on which the switching plunger acts during the stroke while pivoting the guide leg and thus the contact arm.
- the one-piece spring element takes over the functions of generating the pressure point, making contact or opening the contact and resetting the switching plunger.
- the construction and assembly costs are low.
- the spring element is also easy to manufacture as a stamped and bent part.
- a very small construction of the pushbutton switch is possible due to the spring element.
- the switching plunger When the switching plunger is actuated, it first acts on the inclined step, which creates a clearly perceptible resistance. The guide leg tightens. When the step then leaves the switching plunger, the pressure point is exceeded and contact is made by means of the contact arm. During the stroke, the plunger tensions the return arm, which then brings the plunger into its initial position.
- a housing (1) is arranged above a circuit board (2) on which, among other things, two guide surfaces (4, 5) to be connected by means of a push button switch (3).
- the push button switch (3) has a switching plunger (6).
- a finger (7) of the switching plunger (6) protrudes through the housing (1) and can be acted upon by an actuating element (8).
- a rib (9) is formed on the switching plunger (6) and lies in a recess (10) in the housing (1).
- the switching plunger (6) can also be guided laterally at the points (11, 12) of the housing (1) (cf. FIG. 3). In any case, the switching plunger (6) is guided with low friction in the longitudinal direction.
- a boom (13) is provided on the switching plunger (6) and is provided with an opening (14).
- a slope (15) is formed on the housing (1), on which the boom (13) slides in the manner described in more detail below.
- the pushbutton switch (3) has a one-piece spring element (16) which is made from a stamped and bent part, for example from partially gold-plated V2A steel.
- the spring element forms two hairpin-shaped curved guide legs (17, 18) which extend through the opening (14) of the switching plunger (6) and are inserted into a receptacle (19) of the housing (1).
- the guide leg (17) merges into a connecting leg (20) which makes electrical contact sits on the guide surface (4).
- beads can be formed on the connecting leg (20).
- a spring return arm (21) adjoins the connecting leg (20) in the shape of a hairpin, the free end (22) of which rests on a knob (23) of the arm (13) of the switching plunger (6).
- an oblique step (24) is formed on the guide leg (18) below the arm (13).
- a springy contact arm (26) of the spring element (16) adjoins the lower end (25) of the guide leg (18), the contact knob (27) of which lies above the guide surface (5) in the starting position.
- the contact arm (26) can also end in two or more contact fingers.
- the function of the described push button switch is approximately as follows: In the initial position (Fig. 1), the switching plunger (6) is held upwards by means of the prestressed reset arm (21). The switching plunger (6) thus finds a stop on the housing (1). If the actuating member (8) is then pressed in the direction of arrow (A), the edge (28) of the opening (14) presses on the inclined step (24) so that the guide leg (18) faces the guide leg (17). pivoted towards it, resulting in a pretension between the guide legs (17, 18). A tactile force is to be applied. The pressure increase is shown in the diagram of FIG. 10 in area a.
- step (24) When the edge (28) has reached the end of step (24) (cf. FIG. 2), then the pressure point (D) (cf. FIG. 10) has been reached. Until then, the plunger has moved in the direction of arrow (B).
- a nose (30) of the switching plunger (6) hits the contact arm (26), so that it deforms, as a result of which the contact pressure is increased (cf. FIG. 4).
- This pressure range is designated d in the diagram according to FIG. 10.
- the contact pressure (P) of the contact arm (26) on the guide surface (5) is greater than the pressure at the pressure point (D).
- the stroke of the switching plunger (6) is between 1 mm and 2 mm, in the diagram according to FIG. 10 approximately 1.2 mm.
- the pressure point (D) is reached at 0.25 mm.
- the actuator (8) is tiltably mounted on the housing (1) in the exemplary embodiment (cf. FIGS. 3, 5). It can be tilted around a projection (31) which faces an actuating surface (32) for the finger (7) of the switching plunger (6).
- a light guide (33) is attached to the actuator (8) and faces an LED light source (34) on the circuit board (2).
- the switching plunger (6) can, however, also be switched with other actuators (8).
- the tilting movement of the switching plunger (6) in the direction of arrow (C) after reaching the pressure point (D) is not achieved by the bevel (15) and a corresponding shaping of the arm (13).
- the tilting movement is advantageous because, when the opening (14) is removed from the force applied to the finger (7), it leads to reduced friction and enables a high contact pressure (P).
- a formation (35) is formed at the lower end of the guide leg (17) to produce this tilting movement, onto which an edge (36) of the opening (14) opposite the edge (28) after reaching the pressure point (D) ) meets.
- the one-piece spring element (16) also takes over the function of tilting the switching plunger (6).
- inclined steps (24, 24 ') are formed on both guide legs (17, 18).
- the guide legs (17, 18) are guided in a shaft (37) of the switching plunger (6), the shaft (37) extending in the direction of movement (B) of the switching plunger (6). So it is not like the opening (14) next to the direction of the pressurization, but concentric to this. The tilting movement described does not take place here.
- both inclined steps (24, 24 ') generate the pressure point.
- the switching plunger (6) moves over the steps (24, 24 ') (cf. Fig. 8).
- the connecting leg (20) moves on the guide surface (4).
- the contact arm (26) is also biased by the nose (30) so that it rests on the guide surface (5) with high contact pressure.
- the return arm (21) is biased via the knob (23).
- the embodiment according to FIG. 9 is a combination of the embodiments according to FIGS. 1 and 7.
- the guide legs (17, 18) sit in a shaft (37) central to the direction of movement (B). Only the guide leg (18) has an inclined step (24).
- the switching plunger (6) is actuated, the connecting leg (20) does not move on the guide surface (4).
- the described tilting movement of the switching plunger (6) does not take place here.
- the contact arm (26) is also pretensioned by means of the Nose (30) pressed onto the contact surface.
- higher friction between the guide legs (17, 18) of the one-piece spring element (16) is to be expected than in the exemplary embodiments according to FIGS. 1 to 6, since the guide legs (17, 18) in the Insert the switch plunger (6).

Description
The invention relates to a push button switch with a switching plunger, the stroke of which generates a pressure point, a contact and a restoring voltage under spring action.
Such pushbutton switches are described in DE-GM 81 14 214,
Solche Schalter sind beispielsweise in der Kraftfahrzeugelektrik gefordert.DE 36 22 962 A1 also describes a key switch of the type mentioned at the beginning. In this case, the actuation should be clearly felt with a small stroke, for example 1 mm to 3 mm, and the pressure point should be in front of the switching point. Such switches are required, for example, in automotive electronics.
In the pushbutton switch of
Otherwise, the contact pressure cannot be supported by the switching plunger.
The object of the invention is to propose a pushbutton switch of the type mentioned, in which, with a simple structure and with a short stroke, reliable contact actuation is achieved after a pressure point has been overcome.
According to the invention, the above object is achieved in that a one-piece spring element is provided which, on the one hand, forms a resiliently movable contact arm and, on the other hand, a resilient return arm which rests on the switching plunger, on the spring element between the contact arm and the return arm, resiliently curved in a hairpin-shaped manner Guide legs are formed on which the switching plunger is displaceable, and that at least on the guide arm adjoining the contact arm, an oblique step is formed on which the switching plunger acts during the stroke while pivoting the guide leg and thus the contact arm.
The one-piece spring element takes over the functions of generating the pressure point, making contact or opening the contact and resetting the switching plunger. The construction and assembly costs are low. The spring element is also easy to manufacture as a stamped and bent part. In addition, a very small construction of the pushbutton switch is possible due to the spring element.
When the switching plunger is actuated, it first acts on the inclined step, which creates a clearly perceptible resistance. The guide leg tightens. When the step then leaves the switching plunger, the pressure point is exceeded and contact is made by means of the contact arm. During the stroke, the plunger tensions the return arm, which then brings the plunger into its initial position.
If the switch is closed in the rest position with the corresponding arrangement of the switching electrodes, the contacts open as soon as the guide leg is tensioned by actuating the switching plunger.

A housing (1) is arranged above a circuit board (2) on which, among other things, two guide surfaces (4, 5) to be connected by means of a push button switch (3).
Fig. 3) seitlich geführt sein. The push button switch (3) has a switching plunger (6). A finger (7) of the switching plunger (6) protrudes through the housing (1) and can be acted upon by an actuating element (8). A rib (9) is formed on the switching plunger (6) and lies in a recess (10) in the housing (1). Instead of or in addition, the switching plunger (6) can also be guided laterally at the points (11, 12) of the housing (1) (cf. FIG. 3). In any case, the switching plunger (6) is guided with low friction in the longitudinal direction.
A boom (13) is provided on the switching plunger (6) and is provided with an opening (14). In the boom (13), a slope (15) is formed on the housing (1), on which the boom (13) slides in the manner described in more detail below.
The pushbutton switch (3) has a one-piece spring element (16) which is made from a stamped and bent part, for example from partially gold-plated V2A steel. The spring element forms two hairpin-shaped curved guide legs (17, 18) which extend through the opening (14) of the switching plunger (6) and are inserted into a receptacle (19) of the housing (1). The guide leg (17) merges into a connecting leg (20) which makes electrical contact sits on the guide surface (4). To improve the contact, beads can be formed on the connecting leg (20). A spring return arm (21) adjoins the connecting leg (20) in the shape of a hairpin, the free end (22) of which rests on a knob (23) of the arm (13) of the switching plunger (6).
In the starting position (cf. FIG. 1), an oblique step (24) is formed on the guide leg (18) below the arm (13). A springy contact arm (26) of the spring element (16) adjoins the lower end (25) of the guide leg (18), the contact knob (27) of which lies above the guide surface (5) in the starting position. The contact arm (26) can also end in two or more contact fingers.
The function of the described push button switch is approximately as follows:
In the initial position (Fig.
Fig. 2), dann ist der Druckpunkt (D) (vgl. Fig. 10) erreicht. When the edge (28) has reached the end of step (24) (cf. FIG. 2), then the pressure point (D) (cf. FIG. 10) has been reached. Until then, the plunger has moved in the direction of arrow (B).
When the pressure point (D) is reached, the boom (13) moves on the slope (15) during further actuation in the direction of arrow (A), so that it moves approximately in the direction of arrow (C) in the sense of a tilting movement. The edge (29) above the edge (28) now presses the guide leg (18) at the lower end (25) further against the guide leg (17). As a result, the contact arm (26) folds onto the guide surface (5). In this case, an actuating pressure that is lower than the pressure point (D) must be applied. This pressure range is denoted by b in the diagram according to FIG. 10.
Fig. 4). Der Anpreßdruck (P) des Kontaktarms (26) auf die Leitfläche (5) ist größer als der Druck am Druckpunkt (D).Towards the end of the actuation stroke, a nose (30) of the switching plunger (6) hits the contact arm (26), so that it deforms, as a result of which the contact pressure is increased (cf. FIG. 4). This pressure range is designated d in the diagram according to FIG. 10. The contact pressure (P) of the contact arm (26) on the guide surface (5) is greater than the pressure at the pressure point (D).
Fig. 1 mit Fig. 4).During the stroke described, the return arm (21) has been tensioned (cf. FIG. 1 with FIG. 4).
After the actuator (8) has been released, the contact arm (26) and the reset arm (21) relax, as a result of which the switching plunger (6) and the actuator (8) are returned to their starting position (FIG. 1). This return movement is shown in the lower curve in the diagram according to FIG. 10.
The stroke of the switching plunger (6) is between 1 mm and 2 mm, in the diagram according to FIG. 10 approximately 1.2 mm. The pressure point (D) is reached at 0.25 mm.
Fig. 3, 5). The actuator (8) is tiltably mounted on the housing (1) in the exemplary embodiment (cf. FIGS. 3, 5). It can be tilted around a projection (31) which faces an actuating surface (32) for the finger (7) of the switching plunger (6). A light guide (33) is attached to the actuator (8) and faces an LED light source (34) on the circuit board (2). The switching plunger (6) can, however, also be switched with other actuators (8).
As the exemplary embodiment described shows, it is not necessary for the mechanical and electrical connection of the pushbutton switch (3) to the circuit board (2) that the circuit board (2) is provided with apertures associated with the pushbutton switch (3) or that a soldered connection must be made. The contacting of the guide surfaces (4, 5) takes place by simply pressing the pushbutton switch (3), in particular the connecting leg (20) and, in the case of switching, its contact arm (26).
In the embodiment according to FIG. 6, the tilting movement of the switching plunger (6) in the direction of arrow (C) after reaching the pressure point (D) is not achieved by the bevel (15) and a corresponding shaping of the arm (13). The tilting movement is advantageous because, when the opening (14) is removed from the force applied to the finger (7), it leads to reduced friction and enables a high contact pressure (P).
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 6, a formation (35) is formed at the lower end of the guide leg (17) to produce this tilting movement, onto which an edge (36) of the opening (14) opposite the edge (28) after reaching the pressure point (D) ) meets. In this case, the one-piece spring element (16) also takes over the function of tilting the switching plunger (6).
Ultimately, it would also be possible to transfer the function of the longitudinal guide of the switching plunger (6) to the guide legs (17, 18) so that the rib (9) can be omitted. For this purpose, only the opening (14) must be adapted to the width of the guide legs (17, 18).
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 7 and 8, inclined steps (24, 24 ') are formed on both guide legs (17, 18). The guide legs (17, 18) are guided in a shaft (37) of the switching plunger (6), the shaft (37) extending in the direction of movement (B) of the switching plunger (6). So it is not like the opening (14) next to the direction of the pressurization, but concentric to this. The tilting movement described does not take place here.
Fig. 8). If the switching plunger (6) is actuated in the actuating direction (B), then both inclined steps (24, 24 ') generate the pressure point. The switching plunger (6) moves over the steps (24, 24 ') (cf. Fig. 8). The connecting leg (20) moves on the guide surface (4). The contact arm (26) is also biased by the nose (30) so that it rests on the guide surface (5) with high contact pressure. The return arm (21) is biased via the knob (23).
The embodiment according to FIG. 9 is a combination of the embodiments according to FIGS. 1 and 7. The guide legs (17, 18) sit in a shaft (37) central to the direction of movement (B). Only the guide leg (18) has an inclined step (24). When the switching plunger (6) is actuated, the connecting leg (20) does not move on the guide surface (4). The described tilting movement of the switching plunger (6) does not take place here. The contact arm (26) is also pretensioned by means of the Nose (30) pressed onto the contact surface. In the exemplary embodiments according to FIGS. 7 to 9, higher friction between the guide legs (17, 18) of the one-piece spring element (16) is to be expected than in the exemplary embodiments according to FIGS. 1 to 6, since the guide legs (17, 18) in the Insert the switch plunger (6).
