Definitions
- the present invention relates to multi-strand lifting cables, in particular intended to work in adhesion transmission, such as cables for elevators.
- These cables are currently formed either entirely with outer strands and steel core, or with outer metallic strands and non-metallic or partially metallic central core.
- the core must ensure a correct geometry of the architecture of the external strands that it supports, and in particular ensure a sufficient functional clearance between these strands to prevent them from coming into intimate mutual contact, which would cause friction and wear of the wires. in contact, with risks of seizure, indentation, contact corrosion and rupture.
- the steel core makes it possible to ensure this correct geometry, since the core is not radially deformable.
- the linear mass of these all-steel cables is significant.
- the outer strands also being made of steel (therefore also not very radially deformable), the contact pressures exerted by these outer strands on the core are very high, in particular during winding on pulleys or drums. This results in risks of wear and indentation between the outer strands and the core. Likewise, the high contact pressure of the outer strands on the pulleys or drums can cause them to deteriorate.
- the cables are generally mounted on the same drive pulley in the form of several cables, or "strands", parallel. So that the total load is durably distributed over all these strands, it is necessary that all of the strands have a homogeneity of behavior in service, in particular as regards their diameter and, correspondingly, their permanent elongation. Indeed, for the tensions of each of the strands to be equivalent, it is imperative that their diameters are equal and constant. If this is not the case, some strands are in tension and others are relaxed, which generates vibrations and differential crawling (localized catching up of the displacement of one strand relative to the other) which cause l wear of the driving pulley cables and grooves.
- cables with a sisal core have the drawback of their diametrical irregularity and their compressibility under tension and under the associated alternating tension-bending operating cycles, which cause variations in elongation and their consequences indicated below. -above.
- the object of the invention is to propose a new lifting cable, particularly suitable for lifts or similar lifting devices, which makes it possible to solve the various problems indicated above, has very good regularity in diameter, reduced permanent elongation, and does not does not cause deterioration of the winding members of this cable.
- the present invention relates to a cable comprising a plurality of outer strands formed with metal wires, these strands being wired on a central core.
- this cable is characterized in that the outer strands are formed from at least one layer of metallic wires stranded on a core of synthetic material, and according to a pitch analogous to that of the strands from which the core is formed. -even.
- the core of the cable is entirely metallic, or mixed, that is to say made up of both metallic strands and plastic elements.
- the cable according to the invention thus has a high geometric stability, thanks to the metallic core which is very little compressible, and therefore a notably reduced permanent elongation in service. Its linear mass is equal to, or at least very close to, that of an equivalent cable with metallic outer strands on textile fiber core natural, and therefore lower than that of an entirely metallic cable of the same diameter.
- the synthetic plastic material of the core of the outer strands allows them to deform during winding on pulleys or drums, taking on the shape of the groove where the cable rests. This ensures an almost ideal distribution of contact pressures, therefore a strong reduction of these pressures between the outer strands and the core, which reduces the risk of indentation since the core strands and these outer strands are wound in a not analogous. A strong reduction in pressure thus also takes place between the outer strands and the winding members, which reduces the risk of damage to these members. This results in a fatigue life of the cable according to the invention very much improved compared to that of a cable on a textile core.
- the manufacturing tolerance on the cable diameter can be significantly reduced, going to -0.3% of the nominal diameter, against - 0, + 5 or 6% for a textile core cable.
- the cable 1 comprises several external strands 2, eight in the example shown, surrounding a core 3.
- the core 3 itself comprises a central core 4 (advantageously formed of a strand itself); four main strands 5, and four secondary strands 6. All the strands of the core are made of steel and assembled with Lang wiring.
- the outer strands 2 are assembled in cross wiring, in parallel and at the same pitch as the strands of the core which are themselves assembled so that all of the inter-layer contacts and between the various adjacent strands are linear, which makes it possible to reduce contact pressures and therefore the risk of indentation.
- the outer strands 2 are formed of an outer layer of wires 21 made of steel, stranded on a central support 22 made of synthetic material having good mechanical qualities, for example polyethylene, polypropylene, polyamide or other similar substances, preferably of a thermoplastic nature.
- the central support may also include aromatic fibers, carbon fibers or glass fibers or other fibers with high mechanical strength, covered with a polyethylene, polypropylene, polyamide or other similar sheath.
- the outer strands 2 are produced by placing the wires 21 of the external layer on a strand of said synthetic material softened by heating so that the wires 21 become embedded in the synthetic material and that the latter flows between the wires in filling all the gaps between them.
- the manufacture of the outer strands may in particular be made in a similar manner to the method described for the production of cables with a non-metallic core in the document FR-A-1601293 to which reference may be made for more information.
- the strand of synthetic material intended to constitute the central support 22 is, before the installation of the external wires, at least partially conformed to the internal profile of the layer of wires which it will support after stranding, which makes it possible to control the geometry of the strand, by the automatic prepositioning of the wires on said strand.
- the outer strands 2 are wired at the same pitch as the strands 5, 6 of the core and parallel to them.
- This preferred arrangement also has the advantage of allowing the cable to be manufactured in a single wiring operation, during which all the strands, core strands and outer strands are assembled simultaneously in the same wiring phase.
- the synthetic material of the central support 22 of the outer strands 2 allows a very good distribution of the contact pressures of these strands on the winding members such as pulleys or drum, because said material allows the outer strands to deform elastically in their section and thus fit as best as possible the profile of the grooves or bearing surfaces of the winding members.
- the distribution of the contact pressures of the outer strands on the strands of the core is greatly improved compared to cables with all-metal outer strands on also metallic or mixed core. This results in very little wear of the metallic core.
- the invention also makes it possible, thanks to the use of a metallic core, to reduce the tolerance on the nominal diameter which can be halved compared to equivalent textile core cables for the intended application.
- the structure of the cable according to the invention by limiting its diametral packing in service, makes it possible to considerably reduce the permanent extension in service.
- the tests carried out revealed a permanent elongation of three to six times less than that of the cables of the prior art with a sisal textile core.
- the invention is however not limited to the production of the cable described above by way of example.
- the composition of the core can be different from that indicated above, the number, the constitution and the relative position of the strands of the metallic core being able to be modified without detracting from the advantages. specific resulting from the use of the outer strands according to the invention.
- the number of these outer strands can also be changed.
- the core of the cable can also be of the mixed core type, that is to say comprising metallic strands and strands of synthetic materials placed between these strands.
- the central core 4 and / or the secondary strands 6 may be replaced by thermoplastic tubes, which can at least partially fill the spaces between the core strands, or between the core strands and the outer strands.

Abstract
Description
- l'âme en fibres naturelles constitue un réservoir pour le lubrifiant dont elle est imprégné, et qui en est extrudé lors de la compression de l'âme par les torons extérieurs ;
- le frottement des torons extérieurs sur l'âme est faible, ce qui confère à ce type de câble une grande souplesse ;
