Definitions
- the invention relates to a process for the dry and subsequent combustion, gasification or smoldering of a water-containing fuel by direct contact with hot, granular solid residue, wherein the dried fuel is passed together with the cooled residue into a reactor, at least partially burned, gasified or smoldered therein and thereby the resulting residue in direct contact with water-containing fuel.
- the invention has for its object to carry out the drying of the water-containing fuel without vortex steam in a cost-effective manner so that local overheating is avoided and a water vapor is formed which is largely free of carbonization products.
- this is done in the process mentioned at the outset by mixing the hot solid residue at a temperature in the range from 500 to 1200 ° C and the water-containing fuel in the inlet area of a mechanical mixer without fluidizing gas, the mixture from the inlet area through the mixer with further mixing via a Mixing distance of 1 to 10 m transported to an outlet and withdrawing a largely water-free fuel-containing mixture with a temperature in the range of over 100 to 150 ° C from the outlet, which is passed into the reactor.
- the components to be mixed are moved in the mechanical mixer in cocurrent in the method according to the invention.
- the mechanical mixer ensures that hot combustion residues and fuel to be dried are brought together in a controlled manner in the inlet area of the mixer, with those already dried Fuel no longer comes into contact with freshly introduced hot combustion residue.
- the mixing section with a length of 1 to 10 m adjoining the inlet area of the mixing unit causes only the continued heat exchange between the particles, as a result of which the evaporation of the water from the water-containing fuel is intensified. Local temperature peaks cannot occur.
- the residence times of the particles in the mixer are usually in the range of 2 to 30 seconds.
- the mixer used according to the invention is a relatively simple apparatus, since it is used at rather low temperatures.
- a fluidized bed with the need to supply fluidizing medium is considerably more complex.
- the known drying in a fluidized bed leads to drying vapors with a very large volume, since the fluidizing medium, e.g. B. water vapor is included. This considerably increases the dedusting of the vapors.
- the method according to the invention also requires considerably less energy than drying in a fluidized bed, since the compression of the fluidizing medium can also be dispensed with and the mixer itself has only a low energy requirement.
- the mixing section in the mixing unit makes it possible to draw off a mixture at the outlet of the mixing unit even at a relatively low temperature in the narrow temperature range from 103 to 130 ° C. and still achieve good fuel drainage.
- a further development of the invention consists in using a mixer with two intermeshing, rotating shafts in the same direction.
- a mixer is known per se, details are described in German patents 1 252 623, 18 09 874 and 1 942 957 and in the corresponding US patents 3 308 219, 3 655 518 and 3 674 449.
- the reactor in which the fuel-containing mixture is burned, gasified or smoldered can be of any design.
- the fluidized bed or the circulating fluidized bed may only be mentioned here as examples.
- granular fuel which is z. B. is brown coal
- the supply of fluidized air from line (2) and secondary air from line (3) usually burned at temperatures in the range of 600 to 1200 ° C.
- the fuel is supplied through line (4).
- Hot flue gas which carries combustion residue with it, passes through the Channel (5) in a cyclone (6), in which gas and solids are separated.
- the flue gas leaves the cyclone (6) in line (7) and is cooled and cleaned in a manner known per se, not shown.
- Hot combustion residue flows from the cyclone (6) through the line (8) into a mixer (9), an excess can be removed through the line (10) shown in broken lines.
- the chamber (1) can be used for gasification or smoldering, with partial oxidation being used.
- the mixing unit (9) is also supplied with water-containing fuel through the line (11), which comes from the storage bunker (12).
- the mixer (9) the cold, water-containing fuel and the hot residue are first brought into contact with one another and mixed in the inlet area (9a), the temperature of the hot combustion residue being rapidly reduced.
- the mixer, the z. B. has two co-rotating screws, then transports the mixture from the inlet area (9a) through the mixing section (9b) with constant mixing to the outlet (14) of the mixer. From the outlet (14) the water-free, fuel-containing mixture, which has a temperature in the range from over 100 to 150 ° C. and preferably 103 to 130 ° C., falls into an intermediate container (15), from where it passes through the line (4) the combustion chamber (1) is fed.
- the water vapor resulting from the drying of the water-containing fuel flows from the mixer (9) through the outlet (14) also into the intermediate container (15) and is fed through line (16) to a dedusting device (17) before the Water vapor in the line (18) is withdrawn for further use.
- the water vapor can also be drawn off directly from the mixer and fed to the dedusting device (17).
- z. B. can be an electrostatic filter or a filter with textile filter elements. Dust separated in the process is likewise fed to the combustion chamber (1) on the transport path (20).
- the mechanical mixer (9) which can be designed in various ways, ensures the mixing of the solid components and their transport to the outlet (14) without the supply of fluidizing gas, solely by mechanical means.
- This mixer is shown schematically in FIG. 2, details are described in the literature cited above.
- This is a mixer with two interlocking shafts (21) and (22) rotating in the same direction, which are shown schematically in FIG. 2 from above.
- These waves transport the mixture which is formed in the inlet region (9a) through the mixing section (9b) to the outlet, which is not shown in FIG. 2. 2 enables intensive mixing, which is particularly important in the inlet area (9a), so that the temperature of the hot solid residue drops rapidly there.
- the components are mixed thoroughly in the radial direction, ie perpendicular to the transport direction, while an axial one Backmixing is largely avoided. It can be ensured without difficulty that the fuel to be dried still has a certain water content at the transition between the inlet region (9a) and the mixing section (9b) and is only completely dried within the mixing section (9b), so that overheating of the fuel is excluded is.

Description
- Fig. 1
