Description

The invention relates to a folding box for rod-shaped objects, such as cigarettes, with a box part and a lid which is articulated to a rear wall of the box part, with a collar consisting of a collar front wall and collar side tabs, which is fixed with a lower region in the box part is, as well as with at least one transverse support wall arranged within the box part, which is part of a cut for the collar and connected to the front wall of the collar via a fold line.

Hinge-lid packs are a worldwide form of packaging for cigarettes and other elongated objects. For the handling and / or for the protection of the cigarettes or other objects, it may be necessary to position the objects within the hinged box at a distance from one another so that the cigarettes or the like do not lie against one another.

From EP-A-0 443 365 a folding box for cigarettes is known according to the preamble of claim 1, which has a transverse direction in the region of the collar front wall Has retaining wall, which fills an empty space and thus prevents unwanted play of atypically thin cigarettes. The cigarettes are not supported against each other. Furthermore, from the German utility model DE-U-82 31 810 a cigarette box without a collar is known, which has a single transverse wall with recesses for the cigarettes. A constructively sensible connection of the retaining wall with other packing parts is not recognizable. The cigarettes are only supported against one another in the simplest way.

Proceeding from this, the object of the invention is to propose a hinged box for cigarettes or other elongated, in particular cylindrical objects, in which the objects are positioned at a predetermined, exact distance from one another and from the walls of the pack.

To solve this problem, the folding box according to the invention is characterized by the following features:
  • a) two transverse support walls are arranged at a distance from one another within the box part,
  • b) both retaining walls have recesses for the passage of one object each,
  • c) the recesses of one support wall are arranged coaxially with the recesses of the other support wall, so that each object is held by both support walls.

The arrangement described provides a particularly stable positioning of the cigarettes or the like. The coaxial recesses provided in the support walls are preferably arranged in two parallel rows.

According to the invention, the two support walls together with the collar form a coherent support insert, which consists of a one-piece blank. The support insert is designed and arranged so that the collar for folding boxes receives correct positioning, the support walls are arranged in a stable parallel position and the entire support insert is supported on the bottom of the hinged box. The inventive design of the hinged box makes it easy to manufacture, namely in such a way that a group of objects corresponding to the package content is inserted into the recesses of the support insert and inserted as a unit into the fully or partially finished packaging. The support insert is first completed before the objects are inserted, that is to say folded into the shape appropriate for the package.

In the drawings, the novel interior design of a hinged box is shown as a preferred embodiment. This hinged box consists of a box part 10 and a lid 11. FIG. 1 shows a custom blank for such a hinged box. Areas are delimited by fold lines 12 to form a front wall 13, one Bottom wall 14 and a rear wall 15. Side walls 16 and 17 of the hinged box each consist of two side flaps 18 and 19 which overlap one another and are connected to one another by adhesive bonding. The side tabs 18 adjoining the rear wall 15 lie on the inside.

The lid 11 is formed analogously with a lid rear wall 20, a lid upper wall 21 and a lid front wall 22, which connect in this order to the rear wall 15 of the box part. A hinge line 23 is formed between the lid rear wall 20 and rear wall 15 for the pivoting movements of the lid 11 when opening and closing. Lid side walls 24, 25 consist of lid side tabs 26 and 27 analogous to the design of the side walls 16, 17. An inner tab 28 is attached to the free edge of the lid front wall 22, which in the finished pack is on the inside of the lid front wall 22 is present (Fig. 4).

The hinged box serves to hold a group of elongated, rod-shaped objects 29. These can be conventional cigarettes, but also other cigarette-like products. In the present exemplary embodiment, the pack is dimensioned such that ten objects 29 are positioned in two rows 30, 31 within the hinged box in an upright position. The objects 29 are spaced apart. The same distances are provided within a row 30, 31. The distances from row to row can have different dimensions.

Die Stützwände 32, 33 verlaufen parallel zur Bodenwand 14.In order to maintain the relative position of the objects 29, each object 29 is supported and kept at a distance. In the present exemplary embodiment, two support walls 32, 33 are arranged within the box part 10. The support walls 32, 33 are arranged at a distance from one another in the longitudinal direction of the objects 29 and also at a distance from the base wall 14 and from the cover 11. The support walls 32, 33 run parallel to the base wall 14.

Each support wall 32, 33 is provided with a number of recesses 34, 35 corresponding to the number of objects 29. These are positioned according to the relative position of the objects 29, that is to say in rows 30, 31. The recesses 34, 35 of the two support walls 32, 33 are positioned coaxially, that is to say one above the other, so that each object 29 has a recess 34, 35 of one and another support wall 32, 33 passes through.

The shape of the recesses 34, 35 corresponds to the outer contour of the object 29. In the present case - with a cylindrical design of the objects 29 - circular recesses 34, 35 are stamped into the support walls 32, 33. In the present case, the punching is not completely circular. Rather, a residual web 36 of the material of the support walls 32, 33 is formed. This leaves during the punching, circular-shaped punched parts 37 via the remaining web 36 in connection with the support wall 32, 33. The advantage of this measure is that the punched parts 37 do not remain as undesired and difficult to control cut parts in the packaging machine. Rather, these stamped parts 37 are kept in the package where they are not disturbing. As can be seen from FIG. 4, the stamped parts 37 are pivoted to the side, namely downwards, by inserting the objects 29 into the recesses 34, 35. They extend here between the rows 30, 31 of the objects 29 outside the area of the same and below the support walls 32, 33. The recesses 34, 35 have a slightly larger diameter than the outer diameter of the objects 29.

In the present exemplary embodiment, the support walls 32, 33 are connected to one another to form a one-piece blank (FIG. 2). Furthermore, a collar 38 is formed by the same cut. In the case of hinged boxes, such a collar is common as an insert in the box part 10. The collar 38 consists of the collar front wall 39 and Collar side tabs 40, 41. The collar front wall 39 bears against the inside of the front wall 13 of the box part. The collar side tabs 40, 41 extend on the inside in the region of the side walls 16, 17. A partial region of the collar 38 protrudes from the box part 10 and is covered by the lid 11 in the closed position (FIG. 4).

Fig. 2 is formed in a special way to form a support insert 42 within the box part 10. The width of the cut for this support insert 42 corresponds to the required width of the collar 38. This results in the area of the support walls 32, 33 on both sides of the same folding tabs 43 and 44. The spacing of the support walls 32, 33 from one another is determined by an intermediate piece 45 of the support insert 42 determined, also with side folding tabs 46.

In the present exemplary embodiment, a spacer tab 47 is also formed on the side opposite the collar 38 in the central region, which adjoins the free side of the lower support wall 33. The contour of this spacer flap 47 corresponds to the contour of a customary recess 48 formed in the region of the collar front wall 39. This overall contour makes it possible to produce the blank for the support insert 42 without waste from a continuous material web made of thin cardboard or the like by punching.

The collar side tabs 40, 41 and the folding tabs 43, 46 and 44 are separated from one another by punch cuts 49.

The support insert 42 is shaped three-dimensionally so that the collar 38 faces the front wall 13 as an upright leg. The upper support wall 32 adjoins this by transverse folding. The rectangular intermediate piece 45, which abuts the rear wall 15 of the box part 10, then follows as an upright folding part. At the lower edge of the intermediate piece 45, the lower support wall closes by transverse folding 33 at. The downwardly folded spacer flap 47 is located on the side opposite the intermediate piece 45. The dimensions of the support insert 42 can be chosen such that the spacer flap 47 stands on the bottom wall 14 at the bottom. Parts of the support insert 42, in particular collar 38 and / or intermediate piece 45, can be connected to the facing parts of the pack by adhesive bonding. The areas of the support insert 42 are delimited from one another by parallel fold lines 50.

In the manufacture of the packaging thus formed, the support insert 42 is first folded at least to such an extent that the support walls 32, 33 assume the position appropriate for the package. The group of objects 29 can now be supplied as a unit to the support insert 42 and combined with it, while maintaining the relative distances. The objects 29 pass through the previously formed recesses 34, 35, namely by pivoting the stamped parts 37. The unit thus formed is then inserted into the actual folding box, which is at least partially completed during this phase.

Fig. 2 ist in Fig. 6 bis 9 perspektivisch gezeigt. The sequence of folding steps with a support insert 42 acc. Fig. 2 is shown in perspective in Figs. 6 to 9.

Thereafter, a U-shaped folding position of the blank is first formed (FIG. 6), the folding being carried out in the region of the folding lines 50 delimiting the intermediate piece 45. The intermediate piece 45 with the adjacent folding tab 46 forms the web of this U-profile.

The folding tabs 46 are then folded into a position transverse to the intermediate piece 45 (FIG. 7). The next folding step acc. Fig. 8 is that the folding flaps 43 of the one, upper support wall 32 are folded over until they rest against the already folded folding flaps 46. Then the folding flaps 44 are placed in the same way against the folding flaps 43 (FIG. 8). The final folding steps are that the collar 38 is then folded into a position transverse to the support wall 32 and the collar side tabs 40 into a position transverse to the collar front wall 39. Furthermore, the spacer tab 47 is brought into a position transverse to the lower support wall 33. The support insert 42 is thus completed as a stable, three-dimensional structure (FIG. 9). Due to the multilayer arrangement in partial areas (folding tabs 43, 44, 46), the support insert 42 forms a stabilizing element for strengthening the shape of the cuboidal hinged box.

After reaching the folding position acc. 9, the group of objects 29 can be pushed through the support walls 32, 33 with a corresponding relative position. The support insert 42 is dimensioned such that, in this folded position, the collar 38 assumes the position appropriate for the package within the box part (FIG. 4). Hinged box and support insert are advantageously made of thin cardboard or a similar material.
