Claims (6)

  1. A sealed surface-mounted light for a lighting lamp, comprising a lamp-carrying base (1) to be fixed to a wall, and a translucent convex diffuser (2) with a trued edge face (10), the diffuser being held by a peripheral rim (11) surrounding the trued edge face (10) in an annular flange member (3) capable of applying, in a joint plane, the trued edge face (10) of the diffuser against an annular bearing surface (14) of the base (1), a plurality of screws (20) passing through passages (21) in the flange member (3) to engage into screwthreads (22) in the base (1) and thus clamp the edge face (10) of the diffuser (2) against the annular bearing surface (14), characterised in that the flange member (3) is provided with fingers (30) which are interposed between screw passages (21), directed perpendicularly to the joint plane in a direction opposite to the convexity of the diffuser, and capable of latching into complementary housings (35) provided in the base (1), so as to hold the flange member (3) with the diffuser (2) in position for engagement of the screws (20).
  2. A surface-mounted light according to claim 1 characterised in that the peripheral rim (11) of the diffuser (2) has rectangular notches (40) where the fingers (30) of the flange member pass while the complementary housings (35) for said fingers (30) are bordered by a pair of latch blades (43A, 43B) capable of engaging against the sides of the corresponding notch (40) of the rim (11) of the diffuser (2) so as to hold the latter in the appropriate position for setting the flange member (3) in place.
  3. A surface-mounted light according to claim 2 characterised in that the latch blades (43A, 43B), extending substantially in radial planes of the base (1), have on their outside faces projections (45A, 45B) whose cross-section is in the form of a substantially isosceles triangle, which bear against the sides of notches, beyond the peripheral rim (11) with respect to the base (1).
  4. A surface-mounted light according to any one of claims 1 to 3 characterised in that the base (1) and the flange member (3) are generally circular.
  5. A surface-mounted light according to any one of claims 1 to 4 characterised in that the fingers (30) and the screw passages (21) in the flange member (3) are three in number respectively.
  6. A surface-mounted light according to any one of claims 1 to 5 characterised in that the screws (20) are so arranged that they cannot escape from the passages (21) in the flange member (3).
