Description

The invention relates to a method for packaging a solid substance in the divided state, making it possible to be transported without the addition of an additional element acting as an interface between the packaging and the transporter.

This process applies in particular to the packaging and transport of cut glass fibers.

Currently, this type of product is transported in containers or boxes. These containers preferably have a shape which allows them to be stacked. It is thus possible to store them with a minimum bulk. These containers generally consist of a flexible envelope which is placed within a container made of a more resistant and preferably light material. A cardboard container is generally used which thus makes it possible to limit the weight of the packaging.

These packages are perfectly suitable for this type of product for their storage as well as for their transport. But with regard to transport, it is necessary to add an additional element. Pallets are generally used which are placed under the container and which adapts to the base of the container. These pallets consist of wooden slats which are assembled so as to provide a free space allowing the passage of the forks of a forklift, for example, so as to lift and move the container. It is therefore necessary to have a pallet for each container. This therefore leads to an increase in packaging costs. On the other hand, this additional element increases not the weight of the packaging is negligible. This may possibly limit the load of product transportable by a truck.

The object of the invention is to provide a container-type packaging method, the shape of which allows storage with a minimum of bulk and the transport of which can be carried out without any additional element.

It is known from document FR-A-2 537 091 to produce a large capacity bag intended to contain solid or liquid materials, surrounded by straps whose tightening forms a constriction whose height is at least equal to the height of the forks. 'a forklift.

Studies have been carried out in this direction and have led to a new type of conditioning. The inventors propose a process defined in substance in claim 1 and making it possible to impart a desired shape to the packaging, more particularly to its base. In this way, it is possible to define a shape at the base of the packaging allowing the passage of the forks of a forklift. In order not to increase the costs of packaging, the inventors do not recommend packaging made from rigid material having such a shape before use, but packaging made only from flexible material which will be given this shape. during the filling phase.

According to the invention, the problem posed by the addition of an additional element, such as a pallet, for the transport of container for the packaging of a solid substance in the divided state is resolved by a packaging process for this type of substance within a flexible envelope, of predetermined shape, which consists in filling this envelope made of a waterproof material, the base of said envelope partially resting on a removable base of a shape such as the base defines, after removal, a free space under the envelope, hermetically closing the envelope after having produced a partial vacuum and then separating the envelope from the base.

In this way, after making the vacuum and maintaining it, it is possible to preserve the shape communicated by the base to the flexible envelope even after having separated them from one another. Since the flexible envelope has a predetermined shape, such as preformed edges, a global shape is obtained which is desired during vacuuming.

In one of the embodiments, a base is used delimiting a hollow area which extends over at least one of the sides of the base of said filled envelope.

According to the invention, a container is thus obtained loaded with a product such as cut glass fiber, the general shape of which, for example parallelepiped, allows easy storage and the base of which has at least one opening leaving a passage for the forks of a forklift. Advantageously, a cross-shaped base is used, the branches of which extend to the edges of the sides of the base of the filled envelope.

It is thus possible to be able to access the container from any side and to transport it on the forks of a forklift.

When filling, make sure that the flexible envelope is well filled before creating a vacuum. It is indeed interesting to fill it well so that by making the vacuum, we obtain a very homogeneous shape. For this, it is possible to pack the substance during filling.

According to the invention, preferably using a base animated by a vibratory movement. This technique optimizes the filling.

The container thus obtained can present certain risks in the case of rough or violent handling. One can indeed fear under certain conditions a tear of the flexible envelope. This type of incident could lead on the one hand to a loss of load and on the other hand to a complete deformation of the container, the tearing having caused an air intake.

A variant according to the invention consists in surrounding the sealed envelope with a protective envelope. This is preferably done from the filling stage. It is advantageous for this second envelope to conform to the shape taken by the first so as to preserve the appearance of the container obtained by achieving a partial vacuum.

According to the invention, after filling and creation of the partial vacuum, the protective envelope is kept against the sealed envelope using straps.

Preferably, these straps are arranged so that the protective envelope matches the shape of the waterproof envelope.

A container is thus obtained capable of storing and transporting a solid substance in the divided state. The first envelope which is waterproof makes it possible to give it its shape and the second envelope provides better resistance during handling.

The invention also relates to a container obtained by the process according to the invention, this container essentially consists of a flexible envelope, filled with a solid substance in the divided state, the envelope of which is sealed and has a nozzle at its top, said container having a general shape, for example parallelepipedal, and more particularly at its base, a hollow shape flush with the edges.

In a preferred manner, the envelope consists of a complex product associating plastic material and aluminum foil.

In a variant, the container comprises a second protective envelope which surrounds the sealed envelope and is held by straps.

Preferably, this second envelope is made of a woven propylene fabric and the straps are plastic strips.

This container therefore allows for its shape, for example parallelepiped, easy storage. The shape given to it at its base will allow its transport. This is achieved through the use of a first waterproof envelope which allows to create a vacuum.

The second envelope which is more resistant makes it possible to protect the first during uses presenting possible risks.

It is also possible to have previously fixed belts on the second envelope.

According to the invention, the second envelope comprises at least one belt acting as a handle at its top.

The belts are advantageously arranged at the four corners of the second envelope. These straps can in particular be used during filling where they allow the envelope to be maintained.

The container thus obtained also has other advantages of not using additional elements. First of all, this element not being necessary, the cost of the packaging is reduced. On the other hand, the element being very often a wooden pallet, the mass of the packaging decreases which can allow, for example, to increase the load of a truck.

Another advantage concerns the recycling of this packaging. The envelopes are very easily picked up by the supplier from the customer and are compact when empty. On the other hand, when it is necessary to recover elements such as wooden pallets from a customer, this requires special transport because of their bulk.

Other details and advantageous characteristics of the invention emerge below from the description of an exemplary embodiment of the invention, described with reference to the figures, which represent:
  • FIG. 1: an example of a container obtained by the method according to the invention,
  • Figure 2: an example of a base according to the invention.

In Figure 1, a container 1 obtained by the method according to the invention has been schematically shown. The first envelope, which is waterproof, is not shown in this diagram. On the other hand, we can clearly observe the parallelepiped shape that it is possible to obtain when we create a vacuum. It is obvious that this form is not obtained so easily. It is possible when this envelope is made to give it a predetermined shape. That is to say that the edges forming for example the parallelepiped after filling are already formed on the envelope.

Another possibility is to contain this envelope during filling, in a support frame which gives the rectangular shape to the envelope. The filling of this envelope is done by any type of means known to those skilled in the art, making it possible to arrange the cut glass fibers without damaging them. Once the first envelope is well filled and after giving it the shape, we create a vacuum within this envelope so that it keeps this shape. The action of the vacuum causes this envelope to shrink around the load. There is therefore a compression of the load and an increase in its compactness. This keeps the shape, for example parallelepiped, and in particular the contours given at its base because this action of the vacuum stiffens the walls of the container thus obtained.

According to one of these techniques, it is possible to obtain a parallelepiped shape. To obtain the desired shape at the base of the container, that is to say a shape allowing the passage of one or more forks of a forklift, under the container, use a base 4 which will be described later .

The opening of the envelope is then hermetically closed by any means known to those skilled in the art, such as welding or sealing.

The second envelope 2 then covers the container thus formed. The second envelope does not need to be waterproof but it is chosen from a resistant material in order to protect the first envelope.

These plastic strips 3 are arranged in such a way that they enable the second envelope 2 to be pressed against the first. For this, they are placed so as to delimit the base of the container 1 already formed by the base 4.

At the top of the container thus formed and therefore on the second envelope, handles 5 are fixed by any means known to those skilled in the art.

This fixing can be done before the container is shaped, or even during the manufacture of the envelope.

These handles 5 can be used to hold the envelope during filling. In this case it is imperative to have them fixed before.

Sur la figure 2, nous avons représenté un exemple de socle 4.In FIG. 2, we have shown an example of base 4.

The base 4 consists of a material chosen such that it supports the load that it will carry during filling. The shape of this base is defined by the empty space that one wishes to find at the base of the container once formed. On this base, there are the plastic strips 3. They are represented four in number but it is of course possible to insert others depending on the dimensions of the container.

As described above, so that the second envelope follows the shape of the first once the vacuum has been created, the plastic strips must be arranged at the edges of the empty spaces of the base 4. When the second envelope is circled, they will thus delimit the free space under the container.

Regarding the operations for forming the container, it is possible to deposit the second envelope 2 on the base 4 which will cover the first envelope once formed. The first envelope is then deposited and the filling is carried out. To facilitate filling and compact the cut glass fibers, the base is itself placed on a vibrating table. This table is not shown in the figures. It can be any system known to those skilled in the art. This system essentially allows to properly fill the base of the container, that is to say the part on which the container will rest which will allow the passage of the forks of the forklift. It is important to obtain a container which is very stable and whose empty space at the base is as regular as possible, especially over its height.

Other variants of the described embodiment are within the reach of the skilled person without departing from the scope of the invention.

Claims (8)

  1. Method of packaging a solid substance in the divided state in a flexible envelope of predetermined shape, characterized in that the said envelope, which is made of a leakproof material, is filled with the said substance, in that the base of the said envelope rests partially on a removable base of a shape such that the base defines, under the envelope, during the filling, a space which is clear after the withdrawal of the base, in that the envelope is closed hermetically after a partial vacuum has been formed, and in that the envelope is separated from the base.
  2. Method according to Claim 1, characterized by the use of a base which delimits a hollow region extending on at least one side of the base of the said filled envelope.
  3. Method according to Claim 2, characterized by the use of a cross-shaped base the arms of which extend as far as the edges of the sides of the base of the filled envelope.
  4. Method according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by the use of a base moved with a vibratory motion.
  5. Method according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the leakproof envelope is surrounded by a protective envelope.
  6. Method according to Claim 4, characterized in that, after filling and after formation of the partial vacuum, the protective envelope is held against the leakproof envelope with the aid of straps.
  7. Method according to Claim 6, characterized in that the straps are arranged in a manner such that the protective envelope adopts the shape of the leakproof envelope.
  8. Container for packaging a solid substance in the divided state produced according to any one of Claims 1 to 7.
