Claims (10)

  1. Complex multilayer sheet comprising at least one first embossed sheet (1) and a second embossed sheet (2) of absorbent paper having protuberances of different depths made when they are embossed, characterized in that the sheet (1) comprises deeper, so-called large protuberances (11), alternating regularly with shallower, so-called small protuberances (12) and the sheet (2) comprises protuberances (22), and in that the ends of the small protuberances (12) of the first sheet (1) and the protuberances (22) of the second sheet (2) are glued in a point-to-point position and the ends of the large protuberances (11) of the first sheet (1) nest in between two protuberances of the second sheet (2).
  2. Complex sheet according to claim 1, characterised in that the sum of the heights of the small protuberances (12) of the first sheet (1) and the protuberances (22) of the second sheet (2) is at least equal to the height of the large protuberances (11) of the first sheet (1).
  3. Complex sheet according to claim 2, characterised in that the small protuberances (12) of the first sheet (1) have the same height as the protuberances (22) of the second sheet (2).
  4. Complex sheet according to one of claims 1 to 3,
    characterised in that it comprises in addition a third sheet (3) having protuberances (33), the pitch of which corresponds to that of the large protuberances of the first sheet (1) and which are glued in a point-to-point position in relation to the said large protuberances (11) of the first sheet (1).
  5. Complex sheet according to one of claims 1 to 3,
    characterised in that it comprises in addition a third sheet (3') have an embossing with protuberances (33') identical to that of the second sheet (2) and a fourth sheet comprising an embossing identical to that of the first sheet (1) with small protuberances (42') and large protuberances (41'), the small protuberances of the fourth sheet (4') being situated in a point-to-point position in relation to the protuberances (33') of the third sheet (3') and the large protuberances (41') of the fourth sheet (4') nesting between the protuberances (33') of the third sheet and gluing being carried out at least at the level of the large protuberances (11) and (41') of the first and fourth sheets (1) and (4').
  6. Process for preparing the complex sheet according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that :
    - by embossing a first ply (1), small (12) and large (11) protuberances are created on this ply,
    - by separately embossing a second ply (2) protuberances (22) are created on this ply, these protuberances being separated from each other by the same distance as the small protuberances of the first ply (1) and having a height such that the sum of their height and the height of a small protuberance of the first ply (1) is at least equal to the height of a large protuberance of the first ply (1),
    - the ends of the protuberances of the second ply (2) are glued,
    - a mat is made between the first and second plies (1) and (2) by gluing the ends of the small protuberances of the first ply (1) to the ends of the protuberances of the second ply (2) in a point-to-point position, the large protuberances of the ply (1) nesting between the protuberances of the second ply (2).
  7. Process according to claim 6 for the preparation of the complex according to claim 4 characterized in that :
    - a third ply (3) is embossed separately, the embossing having a pitch corresponding to that of the large protuberances of the first ply (1),
    - the ends of the protuberances produced on this third ply (3) are glued,
    - the third ply (3) and the mat formed between the first two plies (1) and (2) are glued so that the ends of the protuberances created between the third ply (3) are glued in a point-to-point position on the second ply (2) at the level of the large protuberances of the first ply (1).
  8. Process according to claim 6 for the preparation of a complex according to claim 5, characterized in that :
    - a third ply (3') is embossed to have an identical configuration to that of the second ply (2),
    - a fourth ply (4') is embossed to have an identical configuration to that of the first ply (1),
    - the third and fourth plies (3') and (4') are brought together to form a mat in which the protuberances formed on the third ply (3') come into a point-to-point position relative to the small protuberances formed on the fourth ply (4') while the large protuberances of the fourth ply (4') are interposed between two protuberances of the third ply (3'),
    - the two mats consisting of the first and second plies (1) and (2) respectively and the third and fourth plies (3') and (4') are glued together to form a complex consisting of four embossed sheets, with two gluing levels.
  9. Device for producing a complex according to one of claims 1 to 4 or the application of the process according to claim 7, characterized in that it comprises :
    - three embossing units (A1,C1), (A2, C2) and (A3, C3) each consisting of two cylinders, a first cylinder being made of engraved, dimensionally stable material (A1, A2, A3) and a second cylinder made of elastic material (C1, C2, C3), the first cylinder (A1) having alternate protuberances of two dimensions,
    - two gluing units (E1, E2)
  10. Device enabling the complex according to claim 5 to be produced or the process according to claim 8 to be put into practice, characterized in that it comprises four embossing units (A1, C1), (A2, C2). (A'3, C'3), (A'4, C'4) each consisting of two cylinders, one of which (A1, A2, A'3, A'4) is made of an engraved dimensionally stable material and the other (C1, C2, C'3, C'4) is made of elastic material, two of the cylinders (A1) and (A'3) having two different engraving levels, and at least two gluing units (E1 and E2).
