Description

  • The invention relates to a manoeuvring device of the blades of a blind, with a stop organ incorporated for the blocking of the said blades in a desired position.
  • Traditionally, in external blinds of the venetian type, each unit is constituted by a frame hinged on an upright and bearing blades inclined from the inside towards the outside, the said blades being rotatable to modify the flow of light or air passing through the blind, and naturally also the possibility of observation from the inside towards the outside and viceversa.
  • Among others, the prior art teaches a maneouvring device of a blind for the inclination of the blades to the desired position comprising, rotatable on a support fixed to the frame of the blind, a spindle, bearing at an end a worm screw which screws into a circular cogged section to activate a pair of blade command rods and, at its other end, a knob solid in rotation with the said spindle.
  • The drawbacks of the prior art device are due to the fact that it does not permit of blocking the blades of the blind at any desired inclination, and for this reason it has been necessary in the past to provide separately for this in other parts of the blind frame, namely by providing blocking means of various types, not further described herein.
  • The aim of the present invention is thus to eliminate the above drawbacks, by providing a device which permits, which a single command means, of manoeuvring the blades and blocking them at the inclination desired.
  • A further aim of the invention is to provide such a device, also exhibiting considerable ergonomic characteristics, in particular with respect to reliability and ease of use.
  • The invention, as it is characterised in the claims that follow, solves the problem of providing a manoeuvring device for the blades of a venetian blind with an incorporated stop organ for the blocking of the blades in the desired inclination, comprising, rotatable on a support element fixed to the blind frame, a spindle, bearing at an end a worm screw which screws into a circular cogged section for the activation of a pair of command rods of the blades, and at another end a knob solid in rotation with the said spindle, which, from a general point of view, is characterised in that the said incorporated stop organ comprises a flanged collar, fixed coaxially with the said spindle on the said support and having, in a single piece, a first cogged crown with straight external teeth which surround the said spindle; the said knob having, at its internal cylindrical end, a second cogged crown with straight internal teeth, which, for the manual stopping of the spindle rotation, meshes with the first cogged crown of the flanged collar when the knob is moved on the said shaft from an external position to the said collar, striking with an end run envisaged on the free end of the spindle, at an internal position to the said collar.
  • Further characteristics and advantages of the present invention will better emerge from the detailed description that follows, of a preferred but non-exclusive embodiment here illustrated in the form of a non-limiting example in the accompanying drawings, in which:
    • Figure 1 shows in partially-exploded perspective view a manoeuvring device according to the invention;
    • Figure 2 shows, partially in front view and partially in longitudinal section, the same device as in figure 1;
    • Figures 3 and 4 show in longitudinal section a part of the same device of the preceding figures, respectively in a position of regulation of the blades and in a blocking position of the blades.
  • With reference to the drawings, in particular figures 1 and 2, a support element 1 of the manoeuvring device according to the invention, C-conformed and fixed to the upright of a blind frame (not shown in figures), supports on its principal side 1a, in a known way, a circular cogged section 2 rotatable on a pivot 3 with a rotation arc delimited by a stop element, obtained conventionally by cutting and offsetting a tab 4 of the principal side 1a towards the circular cogged section 2. The circular cogged section 2 bears two pins 5 projecting orthogonally from the circular cogged section 2, destined to house in corresponding holes of two command rods 6 and 7 denoted with broken lines and operating, in a known way, according to the arrows indicated by a continuous line or alternatively according to the arrows indicated by broken lines, on blind blades (not represented).
  • The support element 1 supports in a known way, in coaxial holes bored on the two wings 1b, 1c, a spindle 8, held by a shaped portion of sheet metal 9 against the wing 1c. The spindle 8 bears, in its end portion supported by the said wings 1b, 1c, a worm screw, preferably shaped from the spindle itself as shown in the figures and indicated by 8a, which meshes in the circular cogged section 2 of activation of the command rods 6, 7. The spindle 8 section is reduced in the portion 8b external to the wings 1b, 1c, with a longitudinal flattening connected at 8c to the portion 8a.
  • According to the invention, a stop organ comprising a flanged collar 10 and a knob 12 is incorporated in the manoeuvring device as described above.
  • The flanged collar 10 comprises a base plate 10a equipped with holes 11, 11 for the fixing of the said base plate 10a by means of screws or rivets on the external face of the wing 1c of the support element 1. A cylinder 10b emerges from the base plate 10a, which cylinder exhibits a projecting ring 10c and, coaxial to the said ring 10c, a first cogged crown with straight teeth 10d, surrounding a hole 10e. The flanged collar 10 is inserted in the spindle 8 through the said hole 10e.
  • Successively, a knob 12 is inserted on the selfsame spindle 8. The knob 12 exhibits a peripherically-knurled culindrical portion 12a of larger diameter, a cylindrical portion 12b of intermediate diameter, and a cylindrical portion 12c of smaller diameter. The external diameter of the portion 12c is slightly smaller than the internal diameter of the projecting ring 10c. A second cogged crown 12d is bored into the cylindrical portion 12c, the teeth of which second cogged crown 12d mesh with the external teeth of the first cogged crown 10d, when the knob is inserted to its greatest depth inside the flanged collar 10.
  • The knob 12 exhibits, coaxially communicating with the second cylindrical crown 12d, a cavity 12e with a profile corresponding to that of the portion of spindle 8b in such a way that the knob 12 rotates together with the said spindle 8b. The cavity 12e communicates with a hole 12f of greater diameter for the insertion of a longitudinal end run means of the knob on the spindle 8b. A screw 13 with a head of greater diameter than the width of the hole 12e can conveniently be used as an end run means, the said screw 13 being screwable in a counterthread 8d made coaxially in the end of the portion 8b. The hole 12f is closed with a pressure cap 14.
  • Concerning the materials used to make the assembly, the flanged collar 10 and the knob might advantageously be made of plastic material.
  • The functioning of the manoeuvring device is as follows. In the regulation position of the blades of the device shown in figure 3, the knob 12 is, together with the circular crown 12g of the hole 12f, striking against the internal face of the screw 13 head. In this regulation position, the second circular crown 12a is disconnected from the circular crown 10d. In the regulation position, the rotation of the knob 12 determines the rotation of the spindle 8 and thus the rotation of the cogged curcular sector 2, with a consequent alternating movement in respectively opposite directions of the command shafts 6, 7.
  • In the blocked position of the blades of the device shown in figure 4, the knob 12 is moved along the spindle 8 and has the circular crown portion 12g of the hole 12f distant from the internal face of the screw 13 head. In this blocked position the second circular crown 12a is enmeshed with the circular crown 10d, and thus the rotation of the knob 12 is prevented, and consequently also the blades of the blind. In this case, the blades cannot be subjected to accidental movements, nor movements caused by their inclination.
