Eine gegenüberliegende Seitenwand entsprechender Abmessung wird durch zwei einander in Schließstellung überdeckende Schließlappen gebildet, nämlich aus einem kleineren Oberlappen 32 und einem größeren, die gesamte Seitenwand abdeckenden Unterlappen 33. Claims (7)

  1. A method of producing large packs from a group (11) of small packs, in particular cigarette packs (10), which is surrounded by an outer wrapping (12), wherein the group (11) of small packs is fed to a folding station (23) and defective groups (11) are identified and separated, having the following features:

    b) immediately before the packaging operation or during the packaging operation, the group (11) of small packs is checked, with the large pack open at least on the side at the rear in the conveying direction, for complete and/or correct formation of the group (11),

  2. Method according to claim 1, characterised in that an externally visible modification is carried out in order to mark a defective large pack by folding over an outer folding tab of the outer wrapping (12).
  3. Method according to claim 2, characterised in that an outer folding tab of an elongate side wall of the outer wrapping (12), which side wall is at the rear in the conveying direction, namely a bottom tab (33), is folded over in the region of a corner thereof in such a way that a corner region is folded with the inner side towards the outside, an essentially triangular gusset (36) being formed in the process.

  5. An apparatus according to claim 5, characterised by folding members for folding over a gusset (36) of the bottom tab (33), an upwardly movable bottom folding means (44) for the bottom tab (33) interacting, during the upwards movement, with a corner folding means (45) for the gusset (36) in such a way that the gusset (36) of the bottom tab (33) is folded against the outer side of the bottom folding means (44) by a folding movement of the corner folding means (45) in a plane offset with respect to the bottom folding means (44).
  7. Apparatus according to claim 5 or 6, characterised in that a large pack which is marked by the gusset (36) being folded over can be detected by a sensor (42) in the region of the removal track (26) and can be pushed out laterally by a pusher (37).
