Description

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Briefkasten gemäß Oberbegriff des Anspruchs 1.The invention relates to a mailbox according to the preamble of claim 1.

Different types of mailboxes are known. Most mailboxes have a slot with flap and a separate lockable door for removing the mail items.

From DE-C-956 622 a letter box with a fixed, one-sided open housing and an engaging in its opening, a letter box door and an insertion opening containing folding box is known, which is attached so that it can be folded out around its lower edge. The insertion opening is arranged on the upper end face of the folding box and is located inside the housing when the folding box is folded. The opening is opened by folding out the folding box. The fold-out folding box can be swiveled back into the closed position automatically due to its own weight. A crossbar mounted in the side walls of the housing and the folding box serves as the pivot axis and is arranged between the bottom of the housing and the bottom of the folding box. The pivoting movements of the folding box are limited by stops. The folding box can also be used without a rear wall and be bottomless. In this case, a link guide is provided for the side walls of the folding box, such that these side walls of the folding box are guided between double-walled side walls of the housing. This is to prevent mail items from becoming jammed or damaged. The disadvantage of this known mailbox is that a separate door is required to open the folding box. If the known folding box is designed without a rear wall, there is a risk of items getting stuck between the bottom of the folding box and the rear wall of the housing. If the folding box is designed without a rear wall and without a bottom, it has a low stability and there is a risk of jamming and damage to mail items. To avoid this, an elaborate backdrop guide of the side walls of the folding box is provided in the known mailbox.

The object of the present invention is to provide a new type of mailbox with improved handling, which is suitable for seamless arrangement one above the other and side by side.

This object is achieved by the training according to the characterizing part of claim 1.

Advantageous and expedient developments of the task solution according to the invention are specified in the subclaims.

As a result of the design according to the invention, the mailbox consists of two parts, a housing provided for mounting on a wall or the like, and a hinged box which is pivotally arranged therein and is resiliently pre-tensioned in a predeterminable swivel range for receiving the mail items. The design according to the invention provides a bolt which, in the normal position, allows the folding box to be pivoted out to such an extent that an insertion slot is formed through which the items of mail are placed in the folding box can be thrown or pushed. The person who loads the mailbox, for example the postman, only needs to pull the folding box forward until it stops and only let go after inserting the mail items; the folding box automatically folds back into the closed starting position due to the preload. Emptying the mailbox according to the invention is also very simple. If the mailbox is to be emptied, only the latch needs to be pivoted so that the connecting rod and thus the folding box is released. The folding box can now be pivoted forward over the pretensioning device to remove the mail items. The housing has no outwardly projecting parts, so that letterboxes designed according to the invention can be lined up vertically and horizontally without gaps.

The housing and the folding box are extremely simple and cost-effective to produce using the plastic injection molding process. The inventive design enables assembly by the buyer in a simple manner.

The invention will be explained below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

The drawing shows a mailbox 2 with a housing 4 and a folding box 6 which is pivotally arranged in the housing.

The housing has a cuboid shape with a rear wall 8, an upper cover wall 10 and two side walls 12, 14. Furthermore, the housing 4 has a short front upper wall part 16 in connection with the cover wall 10, in which a lock 18 with a bolt 20th is arranged. The housing 4 is preferably open at the bottom.

The folding box 6 consists of a front wall 22, two side walls 24, 26 and a bottom 28.

On the bottom side, the folding box 6 is rotatably mounted with its side walls 24, 26 in the side walls 12, 14 of the housing 4. For this purpose, holes that can be aligned with one another are preferably provided in the side walls 12, 14 or 24 and 26 of the housing and the folding box, into which rivets can be inserted as axes of rotation 30, 32.

The folding box 6 has a connecting rod 34 on, which connects the side walls 24 and 26 in their upper region. The connecting rod 34 is arranged so that the bolt 20 of the housing 4 forms a stop for the connecting rod 34 in the locking position shown, such that the folding box 6 can only be pivoted out to a limited extent, so that an insertion slot 36 is formed, as is the case here is shown in the drawing.

The housing 4 has two pairs of slots 38a, 38b and 40a, 40b in the rear wall 8, which open ends at the lower end of the rear wall 8 and form tongues 42, 44 between them, which are provided with cylindrical thickenings 46 and 48 on the front.

The front wall 22 of the folding box 6 is provided with a handle 50. Instead of such a handle, a handle bar or a grip hole can also be provided.

The housing has 8 mounting holes 52 in the rear wall, via which the mailbox 2 can be attached to a vertical wall with the aid of screws.

For example, if the postman wants to load the mailbox 2, he pulls the handle 50 and pivots the folding box 6 forward. The swivel range is limited by the bolt 20, against which the connecting rod 34 bears. When the folding box 6 is pivoted, the rear edge 54 runs on the cylinder surfaces 46 and 48 of the resiliently arranged tongues 42 and 44 and presses the tongues backwards.

So that the tongues 42 and 44 have enough space for pivoting, the side walls 12, 14 and the top wall 10 are extended over the rear wall 8 to the rear to form a spacer 56. When the postman releases the handle after filling the folding box 6, the pivots Folding box automatically returns to the closed starting position under the restoring force of tongues 42 and 44.

If the mailbox is to be emptied, the bolt 20 is pivoted via the lock 18 into the position 58 shown in broken lines, so that the rod 34 and thus the folding box 6 is released. The folding box can now be pivoted forward over the cylinder surfaces 46, 48 of the tongues 42, 44 to remove the mail items.

In order to limit the pivoting range of the folding box 6 to the front, a catching device can be provided, for example in the form of one or two tether straps 60. The tether can be attached with one end to the inside of one or both side walls 24 or 26 of the folding box 6 and with the other end to the rear wall 8 or one or both side walls 12, 14 of the housing 4.

The swiveling range of the folding box 6 to the front can also be limited in that the housing 4 has a housing extension 62 extending downwards beyond the folding box 6 with a lower front wall part 64, the upper edge of which serves as a stop for the front wall 22 of the folding box 6.

The mounting holes 52 of the housing 4 are provided on the back of the rear wall 8, preferably for reasons of stability, with molded spacer sleeves 66, as shown for the lower left mounting hole.

The housing 4 and the folding box 6 are preferably made of plastic.

The mailbox 2 described is designed so that pre-assembly is not necessary. The housing 4, the folding box 6, the rivets as axes of rotation 30, 32, the handle 50, the connecting rod 34 and the lock 18 with bolt 20 can be packed and shipped as individual parts to save space. The assembly on site is quick and easy for everyone.

The tongues with their cylindrical thickenings also have the advantage that they keep the thrown mail at a distance from the gap between the bottom 28 of the folding box 6 and the rear wall 8 of the housing 4, so that the inserted documents cannot be pinched in this gap.
