Abstract

A step-transformer selector has a generally cylindrical drum centered on an axis and provided with an annular array of selector contacts and, axially offset therefrom, with at least one polarity contact offset axially from the selector contacts. A selector shaft extends along the axis in the drum and rotatable about the axis to connect to selected ones of the selector contacts. A polarity switch having a pivot in the drum offset from the axis and a ring can rock in the drum on the pivot between a connecting position touching and connecting to the polarity contact and an out-of-service position offset from and out of contact with the polarity contact. A cam on the shaft engages a follower on the ring for rocking the ring from its out-of-service position into its connecting position at least once during each rotation of the shaft about the axis.

Description

The invention relates to a polarity switch for tap changers of tap changers according to one of the preambles of the independent claims 1 or 2.

The step winding of a step transformer is briefly galvanically separated from the main winding during its switchover by a turner or coarse selector. In doing so, it assumes a potential that results from the voltages of the neighboring windings and the coupling capacitances to these windings or to grounded parts.
The resulting differential voltages are sometimes quite considerable; they take up the switching distance of the opening preselector contacts and can lead to inadmissible discharge phenomena if the height is sufficient.

To eliminate these undesirable differential voltages, polarity switches are known which hold the step winding at a desired and defined potential by means of an ohmic resistor, which is only switched on during the switching phase of the preselector or inverter.
Such polarity switches are, as is known from DE-PS 19 42 567, arranged coaxially to the preselection and fine selector contact systems of the tap changer below the tap selector or they are, as is known from DE-PS 28 15 736, on insulating rods attached to additional cantilevers to the side the actual step selector or the selection.
In the first case there are undesirably large lengths for the tap changer, in the second case there are also undesirable large horizontal dimensions of the entire tap changer.
In both known arrangements of the polarity switch, it is also disadvantageous that a special gear is required which converts the rotary movement of the selector column into a pivoting movement for actuating the polarity switch.

The object of the invention is to provide a polarity switch, which can be accommodated in the step selector in a space-saving manner, without significantly influencing its length or scope and without to make a separate gear train necessary for its operation. This object is achieved by a polarity switch with the features of the independent claims 1 or 2. The subclaims contain advantageous developments of the invention.

The particular advantage of the polarity switch according to the invention is, in particular, that, due to the approximately horizontal arrangement of the shield ring acting as a movable contact, it only requires a small overall height and is therefore particularly space-saving, particularly advantageous between the selector or turner and fine selector or with a lateral selector or turner can be accommodated below or above the fine selector.
The direct actuation of the switching shield ring by means of a groove-like control contour on the drive tube eliminates the need for a separate gearbox on the one hand, and the design or dimensioning of this control contour in a simple manner offers numerous possibilities for adapting the polarity switch to different selector switching angles or different opening and closing speeds and - characteristics by varying the entry angle of the control cam in the control contour. Finally, the shield ring, which serves as a movable polarity contact, ensures very good voltage properties within the entire tap changer arrangement.

The selector here consists of a selector shell 1, for example a GRP pipe or a cylindrical insulating material frame. In a first horizontal plane I, the fixed turner or preselector contacts 2 are arranged in the turner shell 1, in a second horizontal plane II there is the polarity switch to be explained in more detail below, and finally, in at least one further horizontal plane III, the fine selector contacts 3 are arranged underneath.
Inside the selector shell 1 there are concentric drive shafts 4, 5, which connect the respective fixed contacts of the turner or preselector 2 or the fine selector 3 with the respective contact lead, which is also not shown, in a known manner by means of contact bridges or the like, not shown. Also not shown is the known Geneva gear mechanism for generating a rotary movement of the drive shaft 4 for actuating the turner or preselector when the fine selector has run through all contacts.
As stated, the polarity switch according to the invention is located in the horizontal plane II. This essentially consists of a fixed, spring-loaded polarity contact 6 in the turner shell 1, a bearing 7 on the opposite side inside the turner shell 1, which carries a shield ring 8 acting as a movable polarity contact, and a control contour 9 on the drive shaft 5.
The fixedly arranged in the turner shell 1 bearing 7 allows in a manner not shown, for. B. by means of a horizontal cross pin 7.1, a vertical pivoting movement of the approximately horizontal, one-sided hinged shield ring 8 about a pivot point 7.2 in the direction of the arrow. The shield ring 8 is guided by a guide arm 10 firmly connected to it, which carries at its free end a guide roller 11 which in turn runs in the control contour 9 and is guided by it.
The fixed polarity contact 6 is spring-loaded so that it can be pushed slightly horizontally outwards; outside the turner shell 1, it is connected to a polarity resistor known per se.
The shield ring 8 itself is connected either by the directly electrically conductive bearing 7 or additional contact means to an outer connection 12 which is articulated to the star point or, in the case of turrets, to the 0 contact of the tap changer.

Fig. 2a shows the development of a control contour 9 in detail for a selector with 2 x 360 ° rotary movement of the drive shaft 5, ie a fine selector, in which the preselector is actuated after each full rotation of the drive shaft 5 shall be. Exactly at this switch-on point 9.1, the control contour 9 has an upward bulge; it carries the guide roller 11 of the guide arm 10 and thus pivots the shield ring 8 with its free end upward, so that it meets the fixed polarity contact 6 with it. When switching through a certain angle, the shield ring 8 - as can be seen - leaves the fixed polarity contact 6 again at the switch-off point 9.2 and is pivoted downward.

The choice of the respective control contour 9 makes it possible in a simple manner to adapt the switching behavior of the polarity switch to the respective angle of rotation of the drive shaft 5 of the fine selector and the swivel angle between the turner or preselector contacts 2. By dimensioning the slope, ie the inlet angle, the opening or
Closing speed variable. The dimensioning of the distance between switch-on point 9.1 and switch-off point 9.2 adapts to the switching time of the preselector. When the direction of rotation of the fine selector is reversed, switch-on point 9.1 and switch-off point 9.2 are swapped accordingly.

2b shows the development of a modified control contour 9, in which the opening curve has a different, ie non-parallel, course relative to the closing curve.
This means that different opening and closing speeds of the polarity switch as well as different switch-on and switch-off points depending on the direction of rotation can be set. In such an embodiment, the shield ring 8 is held in the closed contact state by the fixed polarity contact 6; for this purpose, it is expedient to move the pivot point 7.2 horizontally relative to the plane of the fixed polarity contact 6 and / or to design the control contour 9 so that the shield ring 8 rests at the upper end of the fixed polarity contact 6 in the switched, ie fully deflected state, and is held by this. To switch back, the spring force of the polarity contact 6 must first be overcome, ie it must be pressed slightly outwards.

The control contour 9 is advantageously realized by an annular component which supports it on the end face and is firmly connected to the drive shaft 5, but it is also conceivable to provide the control contour 9 on or in the drive shaft 5 itself.

It is also possible in a modification of the invention to provide the control contour 9 on the drive shaft of the turner or preselector 4, in which case, if this drive shaft 4 does not describe a complete rotation of 360 °, the control contour 9 also only extends over part of the development becomes.

Another possible modification of the invention is that the guide arm 10 is designed to be vertically resilient, so that even in the case of a rigid, unsprung polarity contact 6, the required contact pressure is ensured when the shield ring 8 comes up on the underside of the polarity contact 6.
