Description

The invention relates to an interface plate for the slide of a fastening element, in particular but not exclusively of alpine fastening.

The invention also relates to an assembly consisting of an interface plate and the slide of a fixing element, in particular but not exclusively of alpine fixing.

In the case of alpine skiing, it is known that a boot is retained on a ski by a front binding element and a rear binding element. To ensure the adaptation of the ski to boots of different length, and also to allow free flexing of the ski, one of the binding elements, generally the rear element, is movable longitudinally along a slide.

Certain bindings, in particular rental bindings, also have a movable front binding element along a slide secured to the ski. The front binding element can be placed in different longitudinal positions, allowing adaptation to a wide range of shoes of different length.

The slides which allow the longitudinal movement of a fastening element comprise a fixed part or base secured to the ski, and a mobile part which can be, as the case may be, a base plate on which the base of the fastening element is assembled, or else the base of the fixing element, which then has pads for guiding the body of the fixing along the base.

Since the slide comprises a movable element relative to a fixed element, the problem arises of the mechanical adjustment of these two elements. If the mounting is too tight, the movement of the movable element along the base is difficult, which hinders the adjustment of the longitudinal position of the fastening elements. Indeed, the technician who makes this adjustment will have to make a significant effort to move the fastening element. In addition, this movement will tend to be done in spurts, and will require several successive back-and-forth movements to place the fastening element in its correct position. Such adjustments are relatively frequent for rental skis, and it is easily understood that a binding with such a tight fit will not be appreciated by users. A too tight fit can also hinder the flexing of the ski when it is located between the rear binding element and its slide.

If, on the other hand, too much play is left between the two elements of the slide, in the absence of a shoe, the movable element can wobble relative to the fixed part. Such a movement causes premature wear of the slide, and in the long term a degradation of the operation of the fastening element. In addition, it must be recognized that such a movement is not pleasant for the user, and that it hinders precise driving of the ski.

To remedy this drawback, the French patent application published under No. 2,646,093 proposes to interpose, between the two movable elements of the slide, a layer of elastically deformable and compressible material. Such a device is however difficult to implement.

On another level, it may be recalled that certain fastening elements are equipped with an interface plate, which is located under the fastening element. The main role of this plate is to pinch the threaded part of the assembly screws, to keep these screws in their orifice ready to be screwed, until the assembly operation of the binding element on the ski. Such a plate is for example described in the Japanese patent application filed under No. 51-138 254, and published under No. 53-65 130. However, the role of the plate is limited to holding the screws, and the board has no other function.

One of the aims of the present invention is to make up a play between the two movable elements of the slide for a fixing equipped with an interface plate, not by an added element, but by means of the interface plate itself. even.

Another object of the present invention is to provide an interface plate which in addition improves the seal against snow and dirt between the two movable elements of the slide.

Another object of the present invention is to propose an interface plate which is simple to produce.

Other objects and advantages of the present invention will appear during the description which follows, this description being however given by way of indication, and not limitation.

The interface plate according to the invention is intended to equip the slide with a fixing element. This slide comprises a fixed base in the form of an "inverted Ω" with a central part connected integrally to the ski, two lateral wings raised relative to the upper surface of the ski and extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the ski. The slide further comprises a movable base plate which has a central part and laterally two returns forming two symmetrical grooves in the shape of a "C" whose openings face each other, and inside which the lateral wings of the base are engaged. The interface plate is interposed between the base and the upper surface of the ski and it has a central zone of width substantially equal to the width of the base plate of the slide.

The plate is characterized by the fact that the central zone of the plate is bordered laterally by two parallel edges which each have towards the outside a vertical face constituting a guide and friction surface against which the lower edges of the returns of the plate mobile base come to bear and rub during translational movements of the base plate.

The assembly constituted by an interface plate and the slide of a fastening element is characterized in that the central zone of the plate is bordered laterally by two parallel flanges which each present towards the outside a vertical face constituting a surface of guidance and friction against which the lower edges of the returns of the movable base plate come to bear and rub during the translational movements of the base plate, and that the distance between said lower edges is equal to or substantially less than the distance between the vertical faces of the edges of the interface plate, while the distance between the vertical faces at the bottom of the groove is greater than the distance between the vertical faces of the lateral end of the wings.

The invention will be better understood by referring to the description below, as well as to the accompanying drawings which form an integral part thereof.

To illustrate the invention, there is shown in Figure 1, a ski 1 on which is assembled a slide 2. The slide 2 mainly comprises a fixed base 3, which is secured to the upper surface of the ski, and a base plate mobile 4, which can slide along the base 3 parallel to the longitudinal direction defined by the ski.

The base plate 4 is intended to receive a ski accessory, such as a front or rear binding element, or a brake, or any other accessory, the longitudinal position of which is along the ski is variable. Also, means may be provided for immobilizing the movable base plate 4 relative to the base 3 in defined longitudinal positions. If these means are necessary, they will be of a known type, and they do not require any particular description.

The base 3 extends along the longitudinal direction defined by the ski. It has a length which is approximately equal to the length of the base plate 4 increased by the amplitude of its displacement.

Une vis a été schématisée en 6.The base 3 has a central part 5 which is assembled to the upper surface of the ski by any suitable means, and for example by screws. A screw has been shown diagrammatically in 6.

On each side of the central part 5, the base 3 has two wings 7 and 8, which are raised relative to the upper surface of the ski, and which extend parallel to the longitudinal direction defined by the ski. The lateral wings 7 and 8 respectively have a substantially horizontal upper surface 7a, 8a, a substantially horizontal lower surface 7b, 8b, and a lateral surface 7c, 8c, oriented towards the outside. It is on these different horizontal faces 7a, 7b, 8a, 8b that the movable base plate 4 is guided vertically, that is to say that these faces prevent movement of the base plate 4 upwards or towards the bottom.

The wings are connected to the central part 5 by two bands 9 and 10 which, in the example illustrated, are oriented obliquely, the assembly having in section an approximate shape of "inverted Ω".

The base 3 is made of any suitable material, and for example, it may be a metal sheet formed by stamping.

The movable base plate 4 also has a central part 12 on which the accessory is assembled. If this accessory is a fixing element, it is possible that this movable base plate 4 is part of the body of the fixing element, that is to say that it constitutes a monobloc assembly with the body of which it forms. the bottom part.

On each side of the central part 12, the movable plate 4 has two symmetrical returns 13 and 14, in the shape of a "C", the openings of which face each other. These returns 13 and 14 define grooves inside which the wings 7 and 8 of the base 3 are engaged. The grooves thus defined have a substantially horizontal upper face 13a, 14a, a substantially horizontal lower face 13b, 14b, and a lateral face 13c, 14c.

In addition, the lower part of each return has a vertical face 15, 16, facing inwards, the role of which will be described later. The faces 15 and 16 are opposite one another.

The base plate is made of any suitable material, for example metal or a plastic material possibly reinforced or loaded with fibers.

An interface plate 20 is interposed between the base 3 and the upper surface of the ski. The plate has a length substantially equal to the length of the base, and it also has a central zone 21, the width of which is substantially equal to the central part 5 of the base. Advantageously, this central zone 21 has, at the level of the assembly screws, means such as elastic teeth situated in a horizontal plane, which pinch the threaded part of the screws in order to maintain them in their orifice of the base 3 until 'to the assembly of the base to the upper surface of the ski. Such teeth have been shown diagrammatically at 22 in FIG. 1.

The central zone 21 of the base plate 20 is bordered laterally by two parallel flanges 23 and 24, which extend outwards relative to the central part 5 of the base 3. In the example illustrated, seen from above, the flanges 23 and 24 extend under the connecting strips 9 and 10, and under a portion of the wings 7 and 8 of the base 3.

Preferably, the flanges follow the inclination of the connecting strips 9 and 10. Each of the flanges 23 and 24 has, in addition, outwards a vertical face 25, 26 parallel to the longitudinal direction defined by the ski.

It is on these vertical faces 25 and 26 that the lower faces 15 and 16 of the two returns 13 and 14 come to bear and rub during the longitudinal movements of the base plate 4. It is therefore at this level that the 'adjustment and backlash between the base plate 4 and the base 3. As can be seen in the figures, a slight clearance exists, moreover, inside the returns 13 and 14, between the side faces opposite 13c and 7c, 14c and 8c of the base and the base plate. There is also a slight play in a vertical direction at this level, this vertical play is not however very harmful for the precision of driving of the ski.

To ensure backlash in a transverse direction, the distance between the two vertical faces 25 and 26 of the interface plate is equal to or very slightly greater than the distance between the vertical faces 15 and 16 of the lower part of the returns 13 and 14 .

Ces renflements 27 à 32, avec les ajours 33 à 38 assurent un rattrapage de jeu automatique et élastique entre l'embase et la plaque de base.FIG. 3 illustrates a preferred embodiment of the interface plate, according to which the vertical faces 25 and 26 have locally bulges 27 to 32 oriented towards the outside. They are produced by an accumulation of material, and advantageously, at the level of these bulges, the central zone 21 of the plate 20 has oblong openings 33 to 38 which extend along the edges 25 and 26. In this way, at level of bulges 27 to 32, edges 25 and 26 can be deform locally and elastically inward. These bulges 27 to 32, with the openings 33 to 38 ensure an automatic and elastic backlash between the base and the base plate.

It can be added that the adjustment made between the vertical faces of the interface plate 20 and the lower parts of the returns 13 and 14 makes it possible to improve the seal, reducing the risk of snow infiltration or soiling between the two elements. of the slide.

This tightness is further improved by the vertical walls 41 and 42 that the plate has at the front and at the rear, the walls in fact matching the internal shape of the movable base plate 4. With reference to FIG. 2, it is visible that the wall 42 closes the space between the base 3 and the base plate 4. It is the same for the wall 41. The volume delimited by the base 3 and the base plate 4 is thus protected from dirt.

The interface plate 20 is made of any suitable material. Advantageously, it can be made of an injectable or formable synthetic material which preferably has a good coefficient of friction. Good results have been obtained with a wafer made of polyethylene, or a material sold under the name "DELRIN".

L'épaisseur des lèvres est sensiblement égale à l'amplitude du jeu qui existe à ce niveau.FIG. 5 illustrates an alternative embodiment according to which the interface plate additionally performs a function of absorbing friction, and of taking up play in a vertical direction. Referring to this figure, the upper part of the flanges 43, 44 of the plate 40 is extended outwards by two lips 48 and 49 which extend parallel in a substantially horizontal plane. As can be seen in FIG. 6, the lips are intended to be engaged inside the opening of a return, between the lower horizontal faces of the return of the wing. The thickness of the lips is substantially equal to the amplitude of the play which exists at this level.

According to a preferred embodiment, the lips 48 and 49 locally have undulations oriented in a vertical direction. Corrugations 50 and 51 are visible in FIG. 5. These local deformations are elastically deformable in a vertical direction, and they are therefore capable of ensuring automatic backlash between the base plate 4 and the slide 3.

In this case, the lip is located in the lower part of each rim 63, and it is the bottom surface of the two returns 13 and 14 which comes to bear and rub on the lips in a vertical downward direction. As in the previous case, the lips 68 ensure a vertical play take-up. They may also have corrugations to make up for elastic backlash.

Naturally, the present invention is not limited to the various embodiments which have just been described, and numerous variants are possible. In particular, the invention can find applications in fields other than alpine skiing, and in particular cross-country skiing, surfing, monoskiing. In addition, as has been said previously, the base plate 4 can be arranged to receive the accessory, or it can be an integral part of this accessory. Finally, means can be added to immobilize the base plate relative to the base in defined longitudinal positions.
